  1. I love the siggys- that's how I keep you all straight. Too many similar users names, but no 2 siggys alike.
  2. MAC is having professional make up artists come in at our Nordstroms. I'm very excited and already purchased my ticket. I'll definitely have them show me the eyelashes. Mine are WIMPY!
  3. That's terrible! She was hit by another police officer? That would be a very hard thing to live with- know you killed your coworker. I feel sorry for all of them.

  5. Carly- totally understand where you are coming from because I hate complaining to people in general. I jsut end up b*tching about it to FI. Even though it wasn't the typical price- you still paid for a product. If you really don't like it, I would mention it. I would just explain that you hate to complain and seem ungrateful but this wasn't what you ordered. But I also agree with Maura. No one notices the subtle differences but you. Unfortunately after all the hard work, invitations quickly go into the garbage. *jerks*
  6. Holy crap- $75? Everything is so cheap there I think I would have a hard time hitting the $75 mark. Thanks for reminding me I need to order some hot wigs from them.
  7. I'm sure the video was the extreme and not the normal practices. I can't speak for most farms, but I know the slaughter house comes to my grandparent's farm and actually kills the cow onsite. He does a lot of work there, but he does process and package the beef offsite. I have never bought beef in the store and I prefer to eat my families beef because I do know they ensure its safe. Unfortunately not everyone has the liberty to live this way. Of course, most beef is safe. It's like anything else- you have to be an informed consumer. I saw a really gross expose on how vegetables are improperly handled. Same thing- know where you are getting your food from and look into the practices involved in farming/shipping the products.
  8. Lisa- I LOVE the one of your DH with the bouquet and parasol. So silly and it shows so much personality. I love pics like that vs the really stoic ones where you can't see who the people really are.
  9. What about emails? You keep all your old emails with the first coordinator? Did you notify her that they should have received your deposit? Anything that confirms times? I hope you have something to fight them with!! And I'm sorry but what a beotch for saying that about the invites. That would piss me off to no end. I deal with customer complaints all the time and you never shift the blame on them. Duh- customers are always right (even the crazy ones that are really wrong- they are still right.)
  10. Cute ideas. That bride and groom one cracks me up. Why is the bride so much bigger than the groom? Must have been a bridezilla moment.
  11. There has been a lot of movies/commercials of people with pot belly pigs. I was just telling FI how cute it would be to get one. The movie that comes to mind is that college one with Raven Simone. That stinkin pig is so adorable. And this thread if officially off topic. Sorry

TA Jennifer Good point. No one has to feel left out as the other guests with more money are ordering better food/alcohol etc.

It was always worse for me near the pigs. But what you said reminded me of how much fun I had. I learned how to tackle sheep to, for clipping. Fun times. Shearing sheep too. I loved jumping in the bag to mash down the wool. I have a cute pic of me as a little girl lifting a lamb. The lamb looks bigger than I was. It's one of my fav childhood pics.

Morgan - you think it's a good workout even without the chinup bar? That would save about $60 so I wouldn't feel like I'm wasting more money. Gotta stay on budget for the wedding! If you have something high in the room to attach a resistance band to- that would work as well. That's how I do my pull ups because I can't do many regular ones.
  15. Are you serious? You got it that cheap!! How awesome is that! I love that dress.
  16. Did you not have a confirmation from when you paid your deposit? If so, I wouldn't waste time faxing that to them. Ugh- all these irresponsible WC/resort problems are really irritating me for you girls. Seriously, how do businesses operate like this and still pull in customers?
  17. This is such a personal choice because only you know the depth of your friendship. I personally would invite her because she WAS a grood friend of yours and still good friends with everyone else right? I would hate to make her feel bad. Plus if she's going to the other DW in June, she probably won't come to yours. I would extend the offer so it would be awkward when you see her at the other weddings.
  18. We always buy a 1/4. It's a lot of meat but we have a deep freezer in the garage for it. My grandparents are always looking for people to purchase their beef. A lot of people buy their meat- definitely something to look into if anyone is looking for healthy meat. Much better than the factory produced meat. I had the best memories on the farm too. We got to always bottle feed the little calves that had issues with their momma. So much fun. I had FI do it this last fall for the first time. He was amazed how the calves will just suck on your finger thinking they will get some milk from you.
  19. LOVE the wall color. We are talking about painting a wall in our dining room that color but my FI and dad thinks it's a horrible idea. I'll show them your pics. Our granite has flakes of orange in it so I think it would look great. I can't wait to see your final results. WOOOHOO!
  20. I haven't seen this video and from the sounds of it I really don't want to. Animal cruelty really breaks my heart because they are just so helpless and undeserving. My grandparents raise cows so we get our beef from them. I think many people have different theories on this but my grandparents believe that low stress on the cows produces tender beef. I'm assuming this slaughterhouse must produce ground beef only- not that it makes their treatment any better, but I can't imagine that they would have good meat from abusing their animals like that. I hope they get shut down. I don't know if this is available where you are, but maybe you could contact a local rancher to see if they sell their beef. Typically it's a lot healthier than the meat you get in the stores. Plus I'm sure they make sure their cows are treated properly because their lively hood depends on it.
  21. Oh my. So much drama for your girls to have to prepare for. I'm so sorry. You shouldn't have to carry around documentation on your wedding day just in case someone starts hounding you. I hope it works out so there is no stress!
  22. Who cares what that lady told you? I think most of the ladies at bridal shops just talk out their @ss. I have received so much contradictory information that I don't even listen to them anymore- I ask the forum. If you love your dress, it's one less thing to worry about. No harm in getting things done early! I have no clue about trunk shows though so I can't really say much on that.
  23. Look great! I love the colors- they are mine too! I like the pocket fold they go into. Very cute!
