  1. Ok here's my take- I think DB offers cheaper dresses and then in turn jacks up the alterations cost because they know most brides need them. I really liked a dress there until I was quoted $350 to alter it because of the "lace". I ended up buying a more expensive lace dress but I got it hemmed, bustled, hips and sides taken in (I lost some weight) for $150. In the end, I saved money by actually buying a more expensive dress.

Don't ever move 3 weeks before your wedding. I think I lost a BM dress. Not sure yet. I'm a mess!
  3. Oh Carly- i'm a control freak. I just got in a tiff with FI last night because I don't like him setting his clothes on our tub. He HAS to put out his outfit the night before and I just don't understand why he can't place that designated outfit in our HUGE walk in closet. No, he has to lay it on the tub so it's there in the morning when he gets dressed. He always sings that Kelis song "I'm bossy. I'm the chick ya'll love to hate." I'm not sure why the wedding never made it to my "bossy" list. I mean I'm still picky about stuff, but I wasn't into making all the little extras. No OOT bags for me. I wanted to but I didn't actually want to do all the effort behind it.
  4. I'm going to report back if guests still have a good time if the bride is a lazy shlump and didn't do anything for them. Honestly, I had a huge to do list. Somewhere in a year's time span, most have been crossed off. Not because I did them- but because I decided not to or simply ran out of time and didn't have much of a choice. I wouldn't worry too much girls. I'm sure most guests don't have too high of expectations for all the little goodies. They are there to witness a beautiful wedding and have a good time as well.

Of course he says they aren't in stock. I said, the odds of you not having ANY in stock are very slim. So, he said he will go to his warehouse and ship whatever he has. I'm PRAYING that he actually does this and that we at least get enough to send to LC_Rachel in time for her wedding, and then we have another week until the next wedding. So, keep praying! Thank goodness he's finally answering his phone! I feel less hopeless! haha does he have counting issues? when we ordered I thought only teal or something similar was out of stock? Grr...bottom line he sucks. Thank you for all the work though. When I'm on the wedding trip, I won't even be thinking about the little pashminas. We will survive!

I wasted no time dumping them in the trash after I ate about 5. I have ZERO self control.

  8. Woohoo!! Just remind the guy I leave in 20 days and if he falls through, I know people- mean people. hehe Serious note- that sounds good Trisha. I can wait- it's not like I have really been on the ball with all my other to do projects.
  9. So really pathetic- but a few weeks ago I got really wasted with 2 of my friends. I don't know why but we quoted that commercial like crazy. We called people lint lickers, stinky mcstink faces, cootie queens. We left my sister a totally random drunken message because she couldn't go out with us. The next day she texted us "What the french toast?" Oh I died laughing.
  10. haha that reminds me of the orbitz commercial! Who you calling a cootie queen you lint licker!
  11. Normally I would choose orange, but I didn't cause I don't think that would look good on a red head- especially if she is fair skinned. Orange looked terrible on my pale sister. I voted for teal but the blue is very similar and pretty too. I love how it would compliment the water.
  12. I think it's a funny idea. One time I made my dad a calendar of me. I photoshopped my head on all these crazy bodies in weird scenes. It was hilarious. That's what he gets for always saying he doesn't want anything.
  13. I can't believe you painted those letters yourself. They look so perfect! I love everything! The lockets are such a special touch and I LOVE your messages to them. So beautiful.
  14. do you think we could come up with a new system where points could purchase us items from Nordstroms? You know, like reward points on credit cards.
  15. oh yes. I had one! I dreamt I picked my dress up from the bridal salon and didn't look inside the bag. Once I got to Mexico I went to take it out realizing they gave me the wrong dress- one that wouldn't even fit! In a panic, my family and I drove up to LA so I could purchase a new dress. So dumb. I also dreamt one time that there was a tsunami warning on my wedding day. I decided to go through with it any way. As I was walking down the aisle, a huge wave took me out. That's a pretty bad omen, but I haven't had any crazy ones lately.
  16. Crossing fingers, toes and eyes! Can't wait for a big party.
  17. Sometimes she is quick, sometimes she is not. Maybe she has a lot of weddings going on. Maybe contact Nicole to see if you could speed her up a bit.
  18. I can't remember what I ordered. Fushia, orange and champagne right? So basically only the orange arrived? IF so, I suppose I could just get the orange shipped to me since they were part of my gift to my bridesmaids. Thanks.
  19. woohoo. How exciting. I can't wait to meet her. We also scheduled a TTD with her so I'm very excited to see what happens with that as well.

  21. We are just doing an Ipod. I think it's all about your vision and what you think will work with music. It's not a big deal to us- we just like to dance so we figured our Ipod will do.

  23. I've read the book and can't wait to reread. Plus no added expense before the wedding because I have gone over in just about everything. haha I won't be here for the discussions though. No worries, I'll be sunning myself in PV instead.
  24. That I'm indecisive and change my mind all the time. Q: If you were to quit today, what is the one thing you would say to your boss? Go down in a blaze of glory or respective just leave.
