Our Engagement Pics are Tuesday!
jajajaja replied to ACDCDCAC's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Good luck Abbie. This is good practice for the wedding day. I wish I would have practiced lots. -
I wouldn't stress to much either. When I first printed mine I thought they looked stupid, but once I put the whole thing together (ie- pasted them on card stock, etc) it looked like it should. I printed mine at work so it wasn't like I used any type of fancy print. Post a proof on here- so many girls can provide helpful feedback. I've seen lots of projects magically created that way. As for the MIL- don't stress. Just be nice to her but ignore what she says. If you let her comments about the wedding planning get to you, you end up bothered by her for the next 50+ years. Next it will be babies and her giving every last direction there too. Try to let it roll off your shoulders- its not worth the stress.

I'm thinking about posting a thread of our pics at a club in PV one night. It's too funny not to share. Quote: Originally Posted by CODestBride2009 so...the shells are still at LC huh? I'm sure the staff will be really careful because Nicole told me she wanted to purchase some before but she couldn't find any under $250. Well I guess I made her job a little easier. I think Nordstrom might not sale this particular style anymore, but lately, I saw similar ones in all kinds of different colors. They were comfy plus they did a great job of fitting different body types. That was a big concern for the girls.

Betsy gets married today at the Moon Palace
jajajaja replied to twinkletoes's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Didn't Betsy leave like 2 weeks ago! I can't believe she is only getting married today! Nonetheless, have an awesome day. Forget about the FSIL and party like no other! -

I don't think the whole purpose of the thread is to make current and past EDR brides feel bad about their weddings at EDR, but instead to make future brides aware of the policy so they can make an educated decision. Whether they choose to truly "boycott" the resort after knowing all the policies is truly up to them. However, I hope most brides read this policy and do choose to take their business elsewhere. I'd hate to see more resorts pick up similar policies after watching how this change didn't even hurt EDR's business at all, but instead allowed the resort to earn more money. The wedding business is constantly nickel and diming couples- I think it's awesome if we can contribute to putting our foot down and forcing a policy change.

Aww Kelly, those miracles/wishes just bring tears to my eyes. I guess my miracle would be to see all those children with their miracles granted. It's so painful to see children in pain and it just breaks my heart.

Need Advice on Necklace
jajajaja replied to angitalia23's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I'm gonna vote on the one's Lauren listed. I LOVE THIS ONE!! -
Hopefully the hurt business will make them change their policies. Who knows, other resorts with similar (even less harsh) policies may follow suit. It's ridiculous to make it very difficult for a bride to choose her own vendors- especially when the couple is bringing in thousands of dollars not only for their wedding, but for their guest's stay at the resort as well.

Courtney (twelve_piece) gets married today at the ROR!!!

Congrats Courtney. I hope you loved your veil! Can't wait to see pics. -

I even had to hacksaw the ends off to fit them in the suitcase. Unfortunately, I forgot them at LC so now all the brides have a gift from me. haha

Don't want to spoil the fun for all the LC brides so here's a few fire dancer pics. We nearly got burned alive! The pic is dark, but you can kinda see Beth in their crouching like a ninja. I think that's the move all photogs have mastered. Fire dancing chick. Now talk about some abs. I had to elbow Steve a few times to stop looking. And last but not least, This wedding has been Steve approved.
-
Steve getting down. Then harassing my mom. *jerk* My mom trying to earn the art of "dirty dancing" on her best friend. This was some funny crap. Try teaching your mom how to "grind." Steve getting chummy with the BMs during pictures. Beth's assistant photog. Just in case anyone is interested. He's from Oregon- fellow Univ of Oregon grad. Ya baby!
-
listening to Brad. BMs in the wrong order. What idiots- talk it over before hand and make sure your BMs aren't stupid. If you find out they are, remind them that the MOH stands next to the bride and she fixes the brides train, holds the flowers, etc. No one fixed my train- I think they thought their job was to stand there and look pretty. Steve and his best man. Eating dinner- this was SO uncomfortable. The corset shoved my boobs to my neck. Took my veil off. Now let's party.

After about a week of begging, pleading, threatening, and selling my unborn children, I now have some wedding pics to share. Ceremony set up- I would have liked the tulle to hang loosely down the sides, but oh well. That's what I get for not going over details prior to the wedding. Here's the back which shows the capiz shells better. This is WELL after the ceremony- just FYI in case any bride thinks this is the ceremony lighting. The dreaded stairs- just the last few but I was helped down these. After viewing this pic, I realized I carried by bouquet like an idiot. Walking down the aisle. I DO NOT really remember this part. It went so fast. Walking some more. My dad giving me away.

I definitely think there are different levels of friendships. I have work friends but I never really hang out with them outside of work. It's probably because I'm a snob. In this particular situation, I wouldn't be upset. There's so many other things to worry about than worrying if someone who's miserable is coming to your wedding.
-
Oh it's adorable Maura! Gosh I missed so much while I was gone. I'm glad I'm snooping through the forum this boring friday evening! We don't have lofts like that in Oregon. At least I've never been invited to see anyone's loft. *jerks* I love the modern look! Congrats on the move and having everything unpacked so quickly. I moved last month and you should see my garage! If I couldn't put it away quick, it got shoved in there.

Well after reading that, maybe it's a good thing she isn't going. On our trip, everyone was a tight knit group. We did have one guest that wasn't friends with everyone prior and I think she felt left out at times- kinda her own doing though. She sat in her room most of the time cause she was "burnt." No one likes a party pooper. While it sucks she didn't tell you face to face, it's probably a good thing she isn't going, ya know? This way you don't have to feel obligated to make her have a good time. We were in MX with our guests a week then had a week to ourselves. It was so nice to send all the guests packing (although we loved them to pieces) because I got so tired of worrying about if everyone had a good time!
