Moon Palace Review No pics yet - Very Long!
jajajaja replied to Betsy's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Ok first of all, your FSIL is a bitch (oops- sorry.) I can't stand sneaky crap like that. I like my people open and honest, just like me. My goodness- I'm so glad you have an easy going temperment because I would have been so pissed and then I would have ruined my wedding too! For that, you rock. Second, the brother got beat up? That was random. Who did it? Did you find out? Third- the most important part- I'm so happy you guys had a great time. I'm even happier the reception was such a hit. No doubt that will be a big memory for all your guests too. -

Trisha- you looked so beautiful! I love the pic of you standing at the alter and it looks like the wind caught your train. It's so regal looking! I can't wait to see the pro pics- especially the TTD. Those are my fav. Now I will cry because I didn't do my TTD. Ugh- still kicking myself for cancelling it! -

I don't remember who we went through, but when we got a car for Vegas we wanted to get a nice car (we planned on going through a drive thru chapel in it.) We paid for a Dodge Charger or similar. All the convertibles weren't available because we were there during some huge convention. Anyways- in the eyes of the rental company "or similiar" meant mini-vans. We were pissed because all that was left were mini vans. We eventually saw a nissan altima left and RAN to it so the old people walking next to us got stuck with the mini van.

I personally wouldn't have a little chat to discuss this with the 3 of you. How awkward and uncomfortable. I think the best way to go about it is for you and your FI to discuss your boundaries. After that, I'd treat her civily and that's it. If you don't want a friendship with her, why bother trying to work it out so you can all be close? Once she realizes that your FI isn't ok with the way she is acting, hopefully she will get her crap together and start being a real friend to him- ie. not trying to cause problems in his relationship! After he sets those boundaries, hopefully this will allow you to get used to the idea of seeing her and not always have this game of competition.

Trisha's Bahia Principe Wedding Review...

Congrats Trish. I'm so glad everything worked out! I can not wait to see the Dirty Dancing pictures. And where are these pics everyone is referring too? UGH I WANT TO SEE! (that's my attempt at a whine so someone will direct me to where they are. lol) -
We just let everyone book on their own as well. So glad we went that route because after seeing some of the drama the girls have had on here regarding group blocks. It could be a good thing if you have people who know they are FOR SURE going, but we had so many people up in the air until last minute. Our resort wasn't too big so even though we were all in different towers, we were able to easily meet up or communicate. The first thing I did upon arrival was get everyone's room number.

Since you are closer now, I don't think it would be offensive to ask her late. Normally, I don't like the idea of brides asking people late to just fill numbers but in this case, I think it's a little different. You have gotten closer with the planning of the wedding, so I think it's a tad different. If that doesn't work, I wouldn't worry about uneven numbers. I had them and even though I'm an "even" person to, it wasn't a big deal. The girls walked down the aisle singlely and the pictures of the party were staggered. I don't think it will be too obvious it was uneven. As for your friend, I can't really say much since I don't know her. However, since she is your friend I would like to assume she has the best intentions. Maybe she really did think financially she would be able to go, but something happened and now she doesn't think so. When it comes to DW, I think we have to be a little more open minded and realize not everyone will make it a priority. While friends should, asking those that don't have a ton of money to spend the little money they do on us can be a sticky situation. At least she gave you plenty of notice and didn't throw you this problem a few months prior to the wedding after everything was purchased.

Oh I love it Tara. I love things that you can reuse after the wedding and this clutch is perfect for that. It's got a great Mexico vibe too. What are your colors? -

Honestly if IT did happen that night, I doubt it would have been good. We probably would have just went through the motions to ensure we humped on the wedding night cause it's expected. Then again, if we had an earlier wedding, things may have been different. Probably not though, we didn't get a ton of nookie in while all our guests were there. We felt like Mr. and Ms. hostess the whole time. When they all left, it was like thanks goodness we have some private time now! -

That sucks. Being sick sucks no matter when it is. Thankfully, you can celebrate another day when you feel better. I rarely celebrate my birthday on my birthday- even though I rarely celebrate it anyways. lol Here's a plus- at least it wasn't your wedding day! That's what happened to me. I think the germies wouldn't be that cruel to make you sick on your birthday AND wedding day. So at least you got that big sickness out of the way.

Bachlorette Party Costs
jajajaja replied to KellyandMatt08's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We didn't bar hop- we just went to one bar but that was our plan the whole time. I don't like hopping from bar to bar anyways- cover charges can get expensive, plus I didn't want to forget anyone. If it's a chill type bar, do you think they will still drink like crazy? If so, that's the only reason I would say a limo would be a good idea. I don't really drink much at chill bars because I pass out easily. If I'm not moving when I'm drinking, then I'm out. That's just me though. Ultimately, I think it's safe to plan ahead so no one has to be the DD if no one wants to drive. Also, you don't risk people driving drunk- that's something I can't tolerate. No excuse in my book so I like to always have a good game plan before going out so my friends don't do that. -
Bachlorette Party Costs

hmm--we didn't do dinner for mine. We just went straight to the party and we rented a party bus. It was $40 per person. The plus of having some form of transportation (party bus, limo, etc) is that we got to drink the whole way to the bar. It was about an hour trip for us too. We didn't have to buy a lot of drinks at the bar so immediately it kinda was worth the money for the bus. EDIT- I didnt' mean to hit submit yet. oops. I think it was $800 for 6.5 hours or something close to that. We called LOTS of places too. This one had the best deal BY FAR. Most were roughly $150 per hour for a stretch hummer or similar. Another thing to ask is if they include a 20% gratuity in the price you are quoted. Ours didn't but we tipped probably that amount anyways. Everyone tipped at least $10-20 per person. Our driver was awesome and loved us. He kept the divider down and just watched all the fun. -
We had to deal with this on the Western side too. Our ceremony was at 6pm and the sunset was around 7. Not a ton of "full" sun pics. However, I knew that going in since I looked up the sunset time. There really isn't options for moving the ceremony up at LC, so that's why I was glad I got married in the season I did. Earlier months have even less time to take pics. JM- was the bride aware of this before hand?

Any One Else Freaking Out???!?!!?!?
jajajaja replied to acacia's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I think this is pretty typical. I was so bitchy the last month- the tiniest things set me off and made me grouchy. I'm not talking about wedding related stuff either. At that point, I didn't really have much to get stressed over so I just picked household stuff. lol By the time we got to the wedding I totally had the "let's get this thing done!!" attitude. I really didn't care about the details anymore and it worked out great. We had a great time even though there were a few mishaps. Now that I'm home again, I feel great. I love sitting back and not having this "wedding cloud" over my shoulders. I feel so free. haha Basically, what I'm trying to say is that what you are experiencing is not unusual. Just try to let things roll off your shoulders and see the stress as what it is- silly wedding stuff. It will all work out beautiful in the end. -
That is VERY unique looking. I don't think I have ever seen a pic of the Westin in Cabo. How cool is that!

That will be gorgeous! I love that location- the water just there lapping at your feet. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Awww- I don't think I've seen your ring before. I love it! I couldn't have rings like that- it made my fingers look like chunky monkeys.
