Alright girls here is a recipe for your men to master!! My FI and I bought some Guinness beer for our St Patty's day party, and attached to the 6 pack was a recipe for Guinness ribs.. They are amazing!! Try them out, and you (and everyone you know) will agree!! Guinness Spare Ribs 4 servings ½ day ½ day prep Change to: servings US Metric 4 lbs short rib of beef Marinade 24 fluid ounces Guinness stout 1 large onion, sliced 4 fluid ounces low sodium soy sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 2 fluid ounces sesame oil 3 tablespoons minced garlic Glaze 8 fluid ounces honey 2 fluid ounces low sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 1/2 teaspoons ground pepper ---To Prepare The Ribs---. In a large bowl, whisk together the Guinness, onion, 4 fluid ounces soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and 3 tablespoons minced garlic. Place the ribs in a glass baking dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate overnight. ---To Prepare The Glaze---. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, 2 fluid ounces soy sauce, parsley, 1 tablespoon garlic, and pepper. ---Fire Up The Grill---. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the grill over medium coals. Grill until cooked through, turning occasionally, about 10-15 minutes. Brush with the glaze and cook 1 minute per side. Serve with the remaining glaze.

Have you read it?? I am almost finished, and it is quite the eye opener. I am a huge animal lover, so it has definitely changed my mind on eating meat.. Did you know that being a vegetarian saves 100 animals a yr?? Anyway, it has some great ideas.. and is really blunt on what girls need to do to be skinny. It does throw out cuss words here and there.. but I think that is to set the tone.. sort of like a tough love. I totally recommend it!!!!!

friend vent... what would you do?
coming together replied to MsShelley's topic in Just venting or funnies
That's a tough one.. it is hard to ask a friend for money, but I think if you are friends than she really shouldn't mind. I mean you have a wedding to pay for. Doesn't she realize that?? I would kindly ask her for the money. You shouldn't have to explain, you did a service and she should pay. I mean, I have had friends to my hair for special occasions and I slip them a $20 b/c I know it would either be $40+ at a salon, or look like sh** if I did it. Seriously, I would ask. -

I think my man has 6 feet as well.. lol!!!!

Ceremony ideas..

I have downloaded some songs to play before the ceremony (as people are being seated) but haven't chosen the definite songs or order yet. We'll playing "Ground Control to Major Tom" for FI to signify for Groom and GM to be in position. Not sure of what for the BM's yet. I am walking down the aisle to the "Over the Rainbow" version from 50 First Dates. No music during actual ceremony and we'll start-up Smashmouth;s "I'm A Believer" from Shrek as soon as we say I DO and walk back down the aisle to that one. Does that help at all? I can get you names of songs ... but not right now (I'm at work and can't log in to iTunes to grab 'em). Thanks that does help.. I was going to use that song "Over the rainbow" for the bridal party.. I was thinking of using "It's a beautiful Day" -U2 for when we walk back .. I am still unsure of my bridal march though.. We got engaged in Vegas when we went to see Dave Matthew's, Dave played Crash into me for the opener (my favorite Dave song). They made a live CD of the concert we went to.. what do you think about me walking down to that version?? From the concert?? -

Girl, that looks just like my dress, except mine has a slit up the side. I had a choice of a flower (like your's ) or a brooch.. I am going to use the brooch. I think it is a great dress for those of us who are vertically challenged, lol. Look here's mine.. -

Thanks girls.. I am glad I am not alone!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope I am not alone here, but does anyone else have trouble getting your man to do things around the house?? I am working two jobs right now which means I work from 7am-4pm (M-F) and 430pm-10pm (sometime 'til 1am) M, T, W, Friday, and then (3pm-11pm, sometimes 1am) on Saturday's. Needless to say it is hard for me to get everything done around the house. Well, my FI works M-F 7am-430pm. He is in school to get his master's which is on Monday nights. Other than that he doesn't have any commiments. Why is it that he doesn't see that things need to be done around the house?? Laundry, dishwasher loaded or unloaded, groceries to be bought, back yard maintained, dog and cat groomed. I could go on and on.. My friends say "welcome to men". He is getting a little better, since I bitched him out after an exhausting week, but I don't want to have to tell him what to do my whole life.. Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear willpower, Please help me to ward off those hot delicious little fried satan sticks (aka french fries) so that all the work I do at the gym will start to pay off!

Well I am not sure what category this fits in, but I need help with planning our ceremony. We are officially getting married in the States, and my FI's brother is going to do the beach ceremony, but we arent' sure what to do. We aren't very religious, so we don't have any prereq's. My Wedding planner wants to know a rough draft by the 29th of this month. We also need to have our music picked out (for the Ceremony).. I have some ideas, but if you all would share some ideas I would be forever greatful. Please help..

At Home Reception Ideas Needed
coming together replied to CluelessBride's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My cousin flew the Vegas and got married, and then had a reception in her hometown upon their return. She booked a banquet room, and served apps and drinks. I wasn't able to attend.. as I live a few thousand miles away, but my family said that most of the people gathered around the bar.. I wouldn't put too much time into decorating as people won't be there for the ambiance, only for the company. As for music, I would go with an IPOD hook up, that would be easiest. I think the AHR is a great jesture in itself, so don't worry about glamming it up. -
How are you doing your hair?
coming together replied to *JillD*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Call me crazy, but I just chopped off my hair a few weeks ago.. so no fancy long locks for me.. I will have to set up some photos so you all can let me know which you like best.. me with long hair? or with short? My FI likes long hair, but my hair isn't manageable when it is long. Anyway, If I did have long hair I would put it up. It is hot and muggy in PV in June, and I don't want my hair to flop by the time pictures come around!!!!!!!!! -
Daily Health Challenge (Spark, WW, everyone!)
coming together replied to gkashmira's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
What a great idea. THanks for the motivation.. I missed the 8th, but will make sure I drink that today and do my crunches tonight!!! -
Heidi, that is a tough pill to swallow. My sister has had 2 tubal pregnancies, so I can relate to what you are going through. I don't know you too well, but from what I have read you seem like you have alot of support around here. I hope you and Reggie will endure through this terrible situtation, and that in time you are blessed with a beautiful new addition to your family. Take Care.

Girl, I know what you mean. I have a tan dog and a black cat, and they both shed. We, too, have laminate floors, and the best thing we have it the purple Dyson vacuum cleaner. It is made for people with pets. I think it is great!!! Maybe you could ask a dog groomer what you can do to help control the shedding?? Good Luck!
