  1. Welcome to the forum! I'm a Dreams bride too. Claudia often takes a long time to respond to emails but I've heard that she responds more quickly as your date gets closer. As far as the place cards go, I think that it will be easier for you to do them. I am nervous that without place cards, there will be 1 seat remaining at a table that nobody will want to sit in... or something like that. Good luck and Happy Planning!

  2. welcome3.gif Congratulations! I also chose to have a destination wedding for the same reasons. I am getting married the day before you at Dreams Cancun. All that I've done so far other than rings, attire, and invites is the OOT bags. I've also looked into bringing some things down to make my own centerpieces, because I don't think it is worth it to spend the $$, but thats just my opinion.

    Good luck and happy planning!

  3. Hi. I was debating about making my own invitations for my AHR, but the kind I wanted to make were still going to be rather expensive. My friend found a great buy at Target. The invites are off white with a green trim and a green palm tree on the top center. The invites also come with RSVP cards and envelopes. They were $25 for 50 invitations. Just wanted to let you all know. I would never have thought of looking at Target!

Did you email DJ Mannia? I emailed him a few days ago but I havent heard back. I also emailed Claudia, but its no surprise that she hasnt gotten back to me yet.

    2. The Mexican Trio during cocktail hour for the sound system for the ceremony
    3. Make up for a Manicure
    4. Cocktail hour for 15 more people for dinner

I felt like these trades were unfair because the cost of what was originally included in the package was more than the trade they offered me in every case. So I did a cost analysis where I showed the three columns: original cost, the cost of what they gave me for a swap and the difference. Collectively, the trades they offered me were worth over $1k less than the original offerings. I was able to use that to negotiate extending my reception for an extra hour at no additional cost. For example:

    Original Swap Variance
Mexican Trio Sound System for Ceremony
    $560 $180 $380

Hope this helps! If you need me to send you the price lists, send me your email. I don't have enough points to post.
Thats great advice. I emailed Claudia last night to ask for a few trades. If she declines, I will use your method to fight it. Thank You!
  6. I'm finally starting to stress. My wedding date has been booked for quite some time now but I've been super busy this year with a new job and the wedding plans were put on the back burner. I've been reading through the more recent posts and have heard mixed feelings on what to book in advance. So far I've booked the photographer and just emailed DJ Mannia.

What else should I do soon? I don't need the hair and make-up because 2 of my guests are hair stylists and will be doing my hair. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I think the price that I quoted in my last post was a sale item...oops! But they have really great prices even when there isnt a sale. The website is weddinglinensdirect.com. Sorry I was off on the price!
