I'm not doing WW, but am starting back to the gym after a lull and my first weigh-in and measurements with a trainer are tonight. ugh. I have some serious work to do before April but last year I lost almost 20lb between Jan-Mar. Please keep us posted Leigh! Sounds like you truly are off to a rocking' start!!!! Keep up the great work!

foxytv replied to LeXiee's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
*Inexpensive* is the key for me as well. I just spent $250 on sale stuff at VS, so we will see if anything fits! I still need a ton of cute stuff for DW and HM -- but funding is not cooperating!!! -

Have you been to Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information They have a DR wedding forum with literally a TON of posts from girls who were married at Sunscape the Beach (now Dreams). That will be a great option for resort-specific info ... but this is the best place by far for everything "Destination" related!!!

I have 3 dozen of these. I ordered them from Oriental Trading for our OOT bags, but I guess I was in a daze, b/c they are so way too small it's not even funny. But if anyone needs some general goodie bags, or just small bags, you can pick and choose your colors or have a mixture. I have more pics to show the size better at home, so PM me and I can email them or post them here tonight. Basically, they hold perfectly something a little bigger than a beer can.

I don't know that I would go. Does she know the issues you have had with this salon? She should totally respect your feelings for not wanting to go given what you've dealt with. Also, I would think she would want to shy away from it based on your bad experiences. However, that said, we all know how it was/is to be a new bride and how exciting the planning is and how important it is for others to join in our excitement. So, on that hand -- putting your feelings aside, despite how bad of a cousin she has been to you lately, might also show you being the bigger person. Tough call!

I Found The One!
foxytv replied to amandalovesryan's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Love it! Halter styles are my favorite. It's the only thing I remotely regret about my dress, is not getting a halter style. It is beautiful on you!!! -
I haven't tried those but my dentist had a special a year or so ago on the whitening trays for $150. Now, I just get the syringe refills every few months ($40) so it's really affordable, dentist regulated, and works phenomenally.

Wow -- you are more organized than me, as I print out very little. I just try to bookmark stuff or research for it when it comes time to use what I need. That said, I continue to feel overwhelmeds the date draws near ... and I don't think there is anything that will change that. I took a break over the holidays and am now back full force --- and freaking out. Luckily, what doesn't get done, no one will know about but me (me and my "big plans") but still -- I want it all to be my kind of perfect. vent away. You are certainly not alone! :-)

LOL. I totally feel your pain (literally!!). I had blisters from cutting our invites, but luckily FH helped and had blisters as well. It's a total PITA but we are both really pleased that its something we can call our own!

Very nice! If we go with the buffett we won't need menus but I kinda wish we did b/c everyone's look so nice! -
UH-OH, my guests are not behaving!

What about our photographers -- who just booked at the resort next door. So that's 2 photographers for 2 days. I'm guessing teh day pass (and they'll need day and night for the wedding) will be about $60 each. The assumption when booking her was that she would be staying 3 nights w/ us at our resort. Instead she and the second photographer are staying 5 nights at a less expensive resort next door. How do we broach this subject with her? Or do I just assume that she knows that they are responsible for covering the day passes. -
2008 victoria secret swimsuits are out
foxytv replied to cessyboston's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I saw some of these but actually just ordered some of the clearance swimsuits. God, I hope I fit in them well. I've gained about 5 more pounds back over the holidays. Ugh -- but I didn't even try to watch what I ate. Now, I am focused on the prize (APRIL WEDDING) so hopefully working out with a trainer and doing a ton of cardio will pay off. It did last Jan-Mar when I lost almost 20 pounds -- but I want to look kickin' in some of those VS swimsuits!!!! Thanks for posting! More motivation! -
Travel Mugs Arrived -- Not Impressed

The one they used and one that was wider (not a circle). I would think someone in the art department would have let me know that the size of the circular logo would be difficult to read and perhaps suggest the other one. I am really surprised by all of this b/c I have heard of people having such good luck with discountmugs.com. Hopefully the lady who has responded to my concerns will ehlp get this rectified. -
How many times have you heard this...
foxytv replied to JUSTUSTWO's topic in Just venting or funnies
I would tell them what I put on our wedding website -- that we much prefer their presence over their presents. But, I think most of us wouldn't turn down monetary gifts. But I wouldn't hold your breath. They told you they were going to come to your DW, didn't they -- but they're not? So, don't expect any $$$ to actually show up. -

I'm glad you are able to look on the bright side ... but I can totally understand and would have probably been in tears too. But then I would have had a stiff cocktail and forgotten about everything but having just married the man of my dreams.

I would have FH make it clear (even if it's ever so subtly) that anyone who isn't already on the guest list won't be able to be a formal part of the reception b/c of catering issues that can't be changed. I would't say they aren't welcome, but that there are deadlines that had to be bet adn while you would love for them to be there that there is no way to add to that part of it at this late date. As for OOT bags, I would ssoo not worry about that at all. Sounds like they would be makng it more of a vacation for themselves rather than a welcome surprise for you two anyway. So, I would make no special effort to try to accommodate -- but I think I would say they are welcme to go. Do they know that you know about the possible "surprise" b/c if not you can always play dumb and have the WC explain the situation if they show up.

Beach vs Restaurant Reception
foxytv replied to foxytv's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Here are pics from the WC of beach events (one was a pirate-themed party, the other two are wedding receptions). I love the strung lights and the pirate area set-up (minus the skull and crossbones and big anchor, lol) ... but it's not near the reception dance floor area (which is the raised wooden platform in the other pics). I really want a wooden dance floor as opposed to dancing directly in the sand. At least to give people an option other than sand, since the sand in that area isn't pressed sand, and won't be as easy to dance in. -

I'm going to do a small booklet with basic info aboutthe resort, things to do, excursions ... and also a day of wedding timeline with locations and info on our nightly "cocktail receptions". -

They've had 4 months to send 1 email. If they can't do that, then they'll be stuck paying full price. Oh, and I don't plan on calling people that don't RSVP. I'm just going to assume they're not coming. I don't have that much free time to track people down because they're inconsiderate. It's not my problem. We're all adults here. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to contact people who haven't bothered to respond. I do have some friends who I thought would go -- but haven;t booked and we could really use some people to take over some/all of the 5 rooms with people who had to cancel b/c of either money, health or whatever.

Girl, I TOTALLY know EXACTLY what you are talking about. We have a website that is updated frequently and some people still just don't friggin' get it. I have gotten to the point of being somewhat rude (not by choice, but out of frustration) with people who call me to ask stupid questions -- especially about the rooms. I also send out monthly email updates urging eople to get this $hit taken care of. Is Tammy able to hold the rooms any longer for you? How many people are booked so far and how many still swear they are going?
