We made friends with the bartenders the first day we got there and there after they were great. Boy, did we drink during our stay. I'm telling you I had no complaints at all, it was beautiful. the maids were great. My friend one nite drunk a little too much and then vomited all over the place the next day I felt so bad when the maid came to clean. But, she was great, we joked and danced and gave her a great tip for the mess. I actually went to Claire's and bought many jewlery accessories, like little necklaces with matching earrings and bracelets. We gave the maids little sets, it was very inexpensive and boy did they appreciate it, they were so happy. Every time we got to our room we had many little towel and flower arrangments on our bed. I'm looking forward to the Paradisus Punta Cana. I've heard great things about it. I just confirmed my date today for May 22,2009. (unfortuantely my original date for the 5/23 was taken). Anyone with PPC info please let me know. thanks Jessica Thanks for the info! And just look through the Dominican Republic thread or use Advanced Search for "paradisus punta cana" or "ppc". I have started numerous trheads with pics, info, etc. Everything I have received just about I have posted on here. Good Luck!
  2. To my knowledge there is no 'cap' on how many outside guests can come in for any wedding at PPR (they're policies are much in-line w/ PPC). Also, EVERYTHING is negotiable. BUT, have a good leg to stand on before you start asking for concessions. PPC wanted a $2500 deposit for the wedding and reception ... but I told the WC that we had more than 20 rooms booked through a Group Rate (which meant non-refundable deposits) so that should be deposit enough. She waived the deposit, so we will just pay for all our our ceremony/reception costs when we are there. I am currently negotiating the Day Pass fee as well.

Sorry, I am no help with PhotoSouvenir.
  5. Also, if you haven't checked out Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information ... you should. It is strictly a DR website with reviews and a forum that was key in my initial planning.
  6. At PPC, the day pass rate is $95, if that helps at all. I am sure that means it will be over $100 at PPR -- just in case you have vendors coming in or guests staying elsewhere.
  7. Our TA used Travel Impressions for our PPC rates. I can tell you that when we got our PPC group rates, they were cheaper than the resort rates ... but now our group rates are higher than the online rates ... so if the group rates are comparable to the online, I'd go with it b/c it gives you a better chance of not having to worry about anyone being bumped from the resort as well as free upgrades for you as Bride/Groom as well as across the board upgrades for your guests if you have enough rooms booked. We were upgraded to Royal Service for free and our guests are all getting upgraded based on availability at check-in.
  8. Just email the WC and she can send you the price sheet. I'm sure they offer all of that stuff!
  9. Definitely. We are likely not checking out til about 4pm.
  10. That Watter's dress is definitely similar. So far, I can't find your exact dress, but I think with enough *similar* pics ... a seamstress can do it w/o a problem. What website were you ordering from? Maybe someone on BDW has some experience with them and can offer some insight/feedback.
  11. Aside from MOH and Best Man ... the rest will be simply by height.

The iron-on transfer paper is available at any craft store and comes with instructions, so it's pretty fool-proof!

Make your design, or text, in any program ... and try to save as a .jpg. When you print it, make sure you "invert" or "mirror" the image. Then, when you iron it on, it will read in the correct direction. Not sure if that's a very understandable explanation, though. lol
  14. Until BDW, I had never heard of giving Hostess Gifts. I am having 3 showers ... 1 hosted by my sister(BM) and aunt ... one hosted by FH's best man and wife, and another hosted by BM's. My Mom has said a Thank You card will do just fine ... but BDW has me questioning that. Interested for more feedback.
  15. I would think BM's would be happy to go barefoot. One less expense. Especially if its a beach wedding. But sure, it's certainly a good idea to get their input.
  16. WELCOME from another Punta Cana bride! YOur date is getting close!!!
  17. We initially had 5 BM and 4 GM ... but one BM backed out, which evened things out ... but I wans't worried about it being uneven anyway. I was just going to have 1 GM walk back with a BM on each side. No worries.
  18. Wow, those are great shoes! Glad you waited for the sale, I bet! Good bargain shopping, sister!!!
  19. Try this thread. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t933 It's one of the "Sticky" threads ... but if you don't find attachments for any Excel spreadsheets in that thread, do and advanced search for "Budget" b/c I know MikkiStreak has posted budget spreadsheets in the past, and I know other brides have as well. There are also spreadsheets on Wedding Planning - Wedding Ideas - Wedding Gifts - Wedding Website, Wedding Planning Checklist - Planning a Wedding - Unique Wedding Ideas, etc. Good luck!
  20. Thanks! I'm comparing these prices to AnnR's prices from the site she bought from!
  21. That's awesome! So great to have such wonderful friends to help you out through all of this.
  22. We used to always stay in either Duck or Corolla. Both had some beautiful scenery but I really don't think you will have a hard time finding many, many perfect spots.
