I found the same veil onther 'discount' websites for much more than I paid. I was initially concerned getting it in champagne rather than ivory might not be a good idea, and that the veil itself my overpower my dress b/c of the detailing ... but I am sssooo happy with my decision. The color is PERFECT and the detailing make it look like the veil was MADE for my dress!!
  3. Here is the Palm Tree Plate from Target. I told my Mom it's what I want to use so hopefully someone will get it for me for a shower gift. It was out of stock but is now available again!!! Palm Trees Signature Platter : Target

  6. OMG Jaime!!!! I can TOTALLY 100% relate! I have had 13 (count 'em 13!!!) kidney stones over the years. I have gotten them ssoo often that I know when I have one and go right to the doctor for a shot and then have to just wait it out b/c they are usually small enough not to require being surgically broken up (only had to have that once). My kidney stones have all been calcium oxilates. The doctor told me those types of stones form from certain things we eat drink, for the most part. So, I had to cut out soda, iced tea (not hot, only iced), peanuts, greens (kale, collards, turnips, etc) ... and stop drinking water from the tap when I lived in WV (the water was high in calcium). When I changed those things, I didn't have any issues. Have only had 1 in the past 8 years -- and that was actually just a few months ago -- but it passed on its own in a few days with some pain medicine to get me through. And, I eat greens all the time now. Clear indicators are sharp pains in the lower right side of your back, and in the worst cases, naseau. I always have to strain my pee during a kidney stone spell too. I have a hugely funny story about my MOH's hubby dipping his hand into the toilet to get out my stone once it passed one weekend b/c I hadn't strained ... and since my pee was clear he didn't realize I had peed in the toilet. He freaked out when I was like "WTF are you doing?!" Anyway ... boy am I rambling ... but it's important to catch it in the strainer so they can see what type of stone it is. That way they can tell you if, like me, you need to avid certain foods or what is best for you to not get another. GOOD LUCK! Any questions, just ask! I've been there more times than I'd like to count!

  8. OMG that is HILARIOUS! I have got to try to capture our cat like that and take the pic and email it to FH without an explanation. He would DIE laughing b/c our cat is such a spitfire!
  9. Thanks ladies! I couldn't believe how the veil detailing matched the dress so perfectly. The "champagne" embroidery in the veil is a little different in color than my dress ... but not enough to matter. And, I am not sure if I will wear the veil over my shoulders or behind my shoulders. I liked it both ways, so maybe it will depend on the wind on our wedding day. But I'll have pics at my fitting both ways to help decide. lol.
  10. As some of you may recall ... I had a really hard time deciding between two veils, and then the color to get to best complement my dress. Well, I finally decided to go with the single tier veil in champagne. I LOVE how it looks with my dress. I had to take pics on my own, so its really hard to get a good idea ... but when I go for my first fitting in early February, my sister will come up and take better pics for me. Anyway, I'm posting a pic of my dress detailing, the veil as it's pictured online (although mine is only the fingertip length single layer), and then a few close-ups of my dress and veil detailing together.
  11. Thanks ladies for the nominations! What a nice surprise! I'd like to nominate Mel (Raeka) for MRS b/c she has always been a fabulous lifter-upper when things are tough for so many of us ... and she is an inspiration to me! For BTB, I'd nominate Heidi and Morgan b/c they are always there to answer questions and are great assets to BDW!

Work used to take me to Anderson all tht time, so I know it well! Good Luck to you and let me know when you are in G-Vegas next. FH owns a bar/restaurant downtown (Oysters on the West End) so we are there (or elsewhere) often!

  15. Oh, and I am not doing it as a songlist during dinner. I am doing it as the slow songs during the dance portion of the reception so that each couple has a chance to dance tot their own song again.
  16. Very nice! Unique and very usable! Great job! What progam did you use to create it?
  17. You can still call it a Rehearsal Dinner. We are doing pretty much the same thing -- but we are asking for people to respond if they want to attend b/c we don't anyone to feel obligated to spend their free vacation time with us if they'd rather just chill and enjoy the resort. Plus, we have to have a set menu and tell them how many people will be attending. But we are calling it a Rehearsal Dinner.
  18. Yep, I am doing this. I wanted it to be a surprise, but it's been hard to find out, so I am just asking people what their first dance song was (heck, my parents don't even remember). I'm using it as a way to say "Thank You" for attending our DW and to celebrate their marriages. We will make an announcement at the reception to listen for special song throughout the evening b/c we tried to add as many first dance songs from couples weddings who are inattendance as possible. I think your guests will love it. Everyone who knows what we are doing thinks it's a wonderful idea. How many times does a married couple REALLY get to dance to their 'first dance' song? Honestly, I think it's a great idea for all weddings!
  19. At our resort, our room is upgraded to the Royal Service Suites ... which is on the opposite end of the resort from the other guests, but that is fine with us! If you want everyone to be together, make sure you have your TA put in a request to have guests in the same or nearby buildings to one another. No guarantees, but it lets the resort know how to work it out for you if possible.
  20. It's totally up to you .... BUT there are a TON of threads about this that will help you out if you use the Search function and type "AHR" or "At Home Reception" into the Advanced Search field. Good Luck!
  21. Just keep trying them on. I had my minds eye set on a particular type of dress, but none of those looked good on me. My Mom had me try on different styles -- ones I DEFINITELY did NOT want to wear -- until the moment I looked at myself in the mirror. Now, I am wearing a dress style totally different than what I initially envisioned. However -- I can't imagine wearing anything else b/c the dress I have is PERFECT! So, be open-minded -- what you think you might like could be a far cry from what 'pops' when you put something on!
  22. I think that one is from Creative Montage... For Today's Sophisticated Bride if I remember correctly. I have that one on a logo as well. Send a PM (Private Message) to make sure the person gets the message you wrote. You can click on their name on the left and the click "send a private message"). You can also do a search for logos or monograms for more ideas.
  23. I would get started with the website and STD's and anything else that you can get a head start on b/c it will all catch up with you. Just don't send out a link to the website or print anything until you are confirmed with the Officiant as well.
  24. Thanks for those pics! They are great and appreciate you sharing!!!
  25. Nice to see how different resorts price different options! Thanks for sharing!
