  1. God, I HATE it when people think b/c they meet someone they can back out on their commitments and leave someone else in the cold. It is ssoo totally selfish! If her new BF wants to come, he needs to pay for his own room ... and then she can stay with him ... but she can not expect your other MOH to have to shell out more money when the main reason for doubling up was to SAVE money. I think it is up to your MOH to talk to the other -- not you -- but truly it shouldn't even come up b/c she should do the right thing. Sure, have the new BF come, but at HIS expense, not the other MOH's.
  2. I haven't thought that far ahead, lol. But, since I am hi-jacking ... I have a question too. We have received some wedding gifts on our Honeymoon Registry recently. One if from my aunt and uncle who are coming to the DW and she will be at my shower this weekend in MD. Do I send the thank you note now, or wait until after the wedding?
  3. I can't imagine changing my name now. I use 'foxytv' for so many different things. Someone came up with it when I worked at FOX and it just stuck. But I like it when you ladies change your usernames, especially those who don't have their real names or any pics on the avatar or siggy.
  4. I'm orinting mine this weekend while I'm up at Mom's house for a shower, so I'll start ironing-on next week! Loving all the tips!!
  5. That might actually work for me, as it stands now!
  6. THat's so great! Love it! Isn't it nice when you find 'the one' for half the price! Mine is totally different than what I expected to get as well! You look great!!!

Oh thanks so much Tammy! We can hardly wait (and yet there is till so much to do!!!). Have you spoken to the WC at Dreams to see if she can email you some pics from weddings there to see the different reception options/set-ups? I realize the resort recently changed hands, but surely they have started a file of pics.

Still, you got a great deal! that dress is the bomb!!
  9. Oh you poor thing. I know how tough that can be. Just make sure all your teachers know what is going on and hopefully they will work with you on things.
  10. How much $$$$$ -- are you friggin KIDDING ME?!?! That dress is AMAZING, fits you like a glove and looks like it cost a FORTUNE!!!!
  11. I decided not to do any banquet hall reception b/c I was afraid it would not seem 'beachy' enough. Most of the banquet halls I have seen look very 'hotel-ish' and not Caribbean ... and since that is the reason we chose a DW, it didn't seem to make sense for us. I would see about any of your resorts open-air restaurants as well, which can be privatized for the reception AND give you that beachy feel -- if that is what you are looking for. We are having a beach reception.

And yours looked PERFECT! It's hard to pull off all three -- tira, flower and veil -- but you did it beautifully!!! Carly -- I simply cannot wait to see your DIY veil! I considered it but I am ssoo not that DIY inclined!!! I know yours is going to be gorgeous -- it sounds like it is already!!!
  13. Totally cute but how can you ladies wear those boy shorts? I get a toal wedgie! Thongs are the only things I can wear... Maybe my butt is just shaped weird. lol

So, it's going to be my something borrowed! I plan on taking it off right after the wedding so I didn't want to pay $175 for it. It matches my dress perfect and I'll still have a hair flower in too. Kind of like Ann's. So where are some pics you tease?
  15. I love so many of these. My Mom is short and a bit overweight so she is very self-conscious about what she wears. She doesn't like long dresses and wants a long sleeve (sheer) cover-up. She found one pantsuit (I think it's already posted on this thread) but she's not super happy with it. I wish I could find her soemthing that she loves ... but I am fine with her wearing whatever.
  16. Ugh I forgot we have a Sweethearts Party that night at my bosses house. Oops. Well, it would have been a stretch for me anyway with the wedding so close at hand -- so I'll just have to wait for next time...

I agree, Michelle! Luckily, we are just about done. I went in to make our final payment Saturday but ti turns out 1 couple STILL hasn't paid up -- even though the deadline we gave was January 15. So, she will just let me know our final amount once she gets them squared away. The good thing is she worked out a room upgrade for us -- and a $30 discount per person, which she passed along to us. So, our room actually costs $1822.00 (not counting whatever the upgrade cost would have been). We put down an initial $300 deposit -- and as it stands we owe only $544 after the discounts. And since we had about 7 rooms cancel (but did not go under our contracted number of rooms) she is trying to get some of the deposit money back and apply it to our room and give us any extra for our honeymoon. ANOTHER TA QUESTION -- Is it normal for the deposits to be non-refundable? It was a $300 deposit per room. I never questioned this but just want to make sure that is typical resort policy -- b/c it would be nice to give our guests who had to cancel some of their $$ back or have it applied to us so we could use it to help our our bridal party/parents/etc.
  18. Jill -- goot to know the seat aches will go away! Ack! I looked forward to the standing climb position, even thoug it was harder than sitting, but at least my butt wasn't aching. lol Michelle, Yeah, you have to sign up for the classes ahead of time b/c they are always full at my gym. You can sign up for 2 at a time. they have morning spin classes 2x a week, one on Thursday nights and one on Sunday afternoons. They evidently are all always full. I'm going to try to do the Thursday or Sunday class once a week.

Why do you suggest waist long or longer? Do they look better in pics? Just curious. There is a thread out there with my veil ... but here it is again ... this one is the model pic ... (but it's only the single tier, not the extra cathedral length) And here it is against my dress (champagne color to match the dress detail).
  20. That should be fine Jill, b/c they will come to you in separate envelopes, all sealed. Just do not open them and give each envelope to the school that way and you will be fine. Yeah, given enough time, its easier to have them sent directly to the school but it sounds like you might have to pay your school an expediting fee and have them all sent to you to disperse! You'll be fine though! Good Luck!!!
  21. So, I went to the orientation class yesterday -- and after it was over the instructor said a regular class was starting and who wanted to stay. LOL -- EVERYONE got up and was like NO WAY!!! But I decided to stick it out! The instructor let me use her padded seat cover and it did help a bit but OMG my ass is ssoo sore and that was the hardest part -- having to sit on that friggin seat! But I did the entire 45 minute class after the 30 minute orientation (whcih was really only about 10 minutes of actual usage). Boy do I feelit today -- but it was definitely a great workout. it will be a nice one to switch up my regular cardio on the treadmill, ellipital or ARC climber so that I don't get too bored. I am definitely investing in either the padded seat cover or the padded shorts though! Thanks ladies for not letting me chicken out! It was a tough workout but I am trying to stay focused on the prize of looking HOT in my bikini come April!!!
  22. Anything sent to you that you copy and submit to another school, or wherever, is considered an 'unoffocial' transcript. If the school sends you transcripts and they are still in a sealed envelope and your FWD that on, it is considered 'official' because the envelope seal hasn't been broken yet. Many places will allow unofficial for preliminary reasons and only request official ones at the end ... so just check on which is allowed. There is a larger fee for 'official' transcripts as opposed to 'unofficial.' As a matter of fact, I can go online to my undergrad or grad school and print unofficial copies of my transcripts at any time. Many employers (like when I applied to teach at a technical college) wanted unoffocial transcripts along with my application ... and then would require the official ones before they offer the position.
  23. I think as long as the retainer goes back to the rbide and groom, then that is no problem. When wouyld it be asked for, I wonder ... b/c I wish I had 'shopped' TA's a little better b/c I am sure I would have found one who would do a better job than mine is. Price-wise, I can't complain, but the service is leaving a little to be desired.
  24. I got my crinoline along with my TTD dress that I bought off eBay (I got it all for less than $100). I am taking the crinoline to the dry cleaners today b/c it is all bunched up and wrinkled from being in the storage bag -- but it is goinbg to be perfect with my wedding dress and TTD dress. The bra -- I am going to try on the Flattering Me line this week at a local salon b/c I need a longline w/ my dress that you won't be able to see the boning with. I wish I could go w/o, but I think it just really pulls everything together with my dress and the overall look I want to achieve. The longlines that I have seem to have boning that you can kind of see through the dress. Flattering Me is supposed to be the bomb, so we shall see... If not, then I think it's a trip to VS to see what type of bridal longlines they might have that work.
  25. Love it Morgan! Thanks! I have started this project a few times, but always get side-tracked ... and the last one I saved is on my laptop that just crashed ... so thanks for this! I can save it to my external hard drive!
