  1. Patio furniture, gas grill, garden accessories, light fixtures, bathroom vanity mirrors, etc. But truly just hoping for gift cards (got one from my bridal shower over the weekend!)

Ah, yes, always be careful of those 'extras' during checkout -- with lots of different sites. You end up signing upf for a 'free' trial ... but it is automatically deducated from your CC# if you don't cancel it.
  3. Wow -- they look great! I got mine from Oriental Trading but am having a hard time doing what I wanted with them b/c they are not totally clear like yours. Yours look fantastic!!!
  4. We are going to try to start ballroom dancing classes soon ... and if we do I really like Awake by Secondhand Serenade ... but this is one issue we really haven't narrowed down yet.
  5. Great dress! And if you love it, then the decision is simple. :-) You will be hot regardless, so you might as well be hot in a dress you love!!!
  6. I would definitely NOT use tap water for anything. It's an AI, so bottled water is not an issue. We are going to be asking for extra bottled water every day, to ensure we have enough for everything and anything we would need it for. Bringing a small thing of dish soap, as Julie did, is a great idea.

Wow. Well I'm glad I did it myself then! lol. Luckily, I work for a printer manufacturer so I used our showroom to print all of mine. But, since I DIY mine from start to finish -- they are not of the same quality graphics-wise as yours are. I'm not too fabulous with Publisher and all those other programs, so mine stayed pretty basic. But I was pleased -- at least until I see all of these that are ssoo much better! lol
  8. Oh that is so great! We can use my miles to upgrade to First Class but we have another couple flying on the same flight with us, so we might forego the FC so we can hang with them during the flight!
  9. That's a great idea if you can find them for a good price. I would still want them to have some sort of insulation though. Although, I think our guests would be happy with anything and won't know the difference!
  10. I'm not doing WW ... but I am working out with a trainer 2x/week, doing cardio for 45 min (minimum) 3x/wk and an occassional spin class now that I have worked up my endurance. I am already seeing a huge difference in how my clothes fit and can tell my fat is transforming into muscle. I'm guessing by this time next month I'll actually see the pounds melting off the scale. I am not really doing much different eating wise other than eating fruit and granola for breakfast (I used to skip b-fast) and trying to eat healthier overall (although I am a pasta FREAK!!!).

I LOVE that song and it's going to be one of my favorites that we play that night!
  13. Wow those are definitely some hefty fees. I would certainly try to negotiate.
  14. We used the Boarding Pass invitations and actually invited everyone to both. We have about 40 people coming. But for the 'late adds' to out guest list (newer friends or never got correct address, etc) ... we are sending the same invitation, but w/o the travel agent/booking info -- since the deadline is passed anyway to book through our group rates.
  15. You can do it very similar to a regular invitations ... just place the "your presence is requested" line in a difference spot. Like ... Tom and Tami Our hearts and lives become one April 19, 2008 Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Please join us to celebrate upon our return! May 17, 2008 2-6pm Oysters on the West End Greenville, SC
  16. They look great! How many are you having made and what did it end up costing you (just curious since I did these DIY for my invites and wondering if it was worth all the pain. lol) We printed/cut/assembled close to 200 -- at 5 pages each plus the slip to put them in. Very cost effectve but time consuming. Yours look wonderful!!!

Please share whatever you know, including price. I guess I need to drop her an email about that!
  20. Are you on the forum at Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information If you look under the East Coast section there is a ton of info on the area excursions, including reviews.
  21. I'm horrible at applying fake eyelashes ... but my sister and I are going to MAC next week for our trials so I know what colors to buy for the wedding, so I will have them apply them for me and buy some. I am also using Revitalash, as recommended by by hair stylist. I've been using it about a month now and don't see a difference yet, but she says after the 2-month mark I should tell a difference and by 3-months (wedding time!!) she promises I will have unbelieveable lashes. I hope so b/c it cost a lot for the Revitalash. But I'll get the MAC ones as backup just in case. :-)

Everyone can meet up after the reception to party on the boat. There is so much to do on a cruise they don't need to be included in the wedding stuff. They will probably be just as happy to pick their own place to dine that night & own entertainment. I mean, who wants to go to a wedding of someone they don't know? Good point about not being invited to the reception either if they are paying per person. DUH! You would think I would have thought of that. lol.
  23. Totally do whatever you want! Have GM hold the rings, or a BM or MOH ... even your FH can hold on to them. But the Jr BM idea is fine too. Anything goes!!!
  24. Can you meet before the David's appointment? I know how frustrating it is when people don't take your wedding plans as seriosuly as you do -- but I've learned from others on this forum, and the hard way on my own, that NOONE will think your wedding is anywhere NEAR as important as you do. This is something we do have to keep in perspective, although TRUST ME I know it can really be tough sometimes. I've been let down ssoo many times during my DW planning process that it's really stung. But hopefully you can explain to her that it's important to you that she be an active part of the planning process and will be able to adjust her schedule or be able to stand by her commitments more firmly in the future.
  25. Wow! I can't believe how many people are making the trip -- especially if you don't know a lot of them! lol I would suggest sending out a pre-cruise letter to all confirmed guests and stating in it how excited you are that so many people are going to be joining your daughter to share in this experience. Then, state that due to the cruise ship regulations, ceremony space is very limited, so unfortunately only a small group will be able to attend the actual ceremony but that you are looking forward to everyone joining in the reception that follows. Would that work? Then you can send small cards to each guest who you would like to attend the actual ceremony. Hopefully people will understand (especially those whom you don't even know!!!) I'm guessing that being from Miami is making it easier for many of your guests to jump on board?
