  1. Ack! I hope it'd nothing! Especially since I'm switching jobs too. Luckily, my insurance remains good through March...
  2. Geez, this is ssoo crazy? I don't mean to be a downer about your Mom ... but who would WILLINGLY be with someone who makes it clear that they have no interest and plan to make no effort to get to know/be a part of your family? Despite the whole felon issue ... that is just ASKING for trouble. It leads me to believe it could end up being an abusive relationship as well. Oh I hope this gets worked out. If your Mom is standing firm that she will pout ... then it's really up to you and Chris to decide what is most important. Him not being there or your Mom not pouting.

But in the long run this could be very serious. I dont mean to freak you out just dont be stubborn about it either. Ouch! That does freak me out! I do think it is muscular, but will definitely get things looked at. Back issues are definitely no fun, and nothing to push aside. I have too many friends who have had issues too.
  4. I have been working out regularly since early January ... and although I expect to be sore on ceratin days ... my back has been killing me lately. I don't know if I have been sleeping on it wrong, not stretching it enough after workouts ... or what ... but I'm in search of any suggestions or ideas. I do stretch religiously, and get a massage every 3-4 weeks ... but my back, neck and shoulders area has been killing me for almost a week now, despite all of that. I never strength train 2 days in a row ... I opt for every other day with cardio and abs days in between.
  5. Cool! Thanks ladies! I was thinking oatmeal too, Angela! Especially sicne it's likely some people will be sunburned, so oatmeal and aloe would be nice scents. Yea, I'm not a fan of coconut either, but it was one FH thought of. lol. We don't have a Trader Joes, but that definitely seems like the way to go for the cupcakes! Less work=happier Tami!
  6. Oh, wow, I'm so going to buy this! I LOVE the color red that I got years ago from Bare Escentuals. I still use it to this day. I'll try to find it online and post. But this lip sealer is awesome!
  7. I have just purchased all the molds that we need for our starfish/seashell homemade soaps. We are making these to add to our OOT bags. We will also use similar molds to make starish and seashell candy's for our AHR cupcake tower. Just curious if anyone has made homemade soaps before and if so, some favorite scents (I'm thinking tropical breeze, coconut, etc). Also, should I just stick w/ tan/natural colors for these? I'm thinking that's easiest but if you were getting homemade soaps, would you want to see more colors? Oh, we are making flip-flip soap too, which of course will be more colorful!

I would think it's similar for you -- just find out the easiest way to get legally married (courthouse judge, etc). We are doing ours w/o a ceremony, just paper signing, so we can save the ceremony portion for our DW.

Since its going to be super small. I wanted everyone to be apart of the ceremony. Oh I like this idea too -- to have 2 people (one from each family) participate in the readings!). I will see if anyone on his side of the family can take part!
  10. Yep, we are doing a Hand Ceremony right before we exchange vows (and tweaking the standard ceremony vows just a bit). Then, we will do the Sand Ceremony just before we cut the cake, or right before the first dance. My uncle is reading the Hand Ceremony for us.
  11. Yeah, it's crazy. Here's a thread I posted last week about it. Thanking goodness we chose a symbolic ceremony! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15497
  12. Very cool to see so many healthcare workers on here!!! Quote: Originally Posted by Morgan I'm a microbiologist. Morgan, wow, a microbiologist, huh? How interesting. I hated science, though ... so I'll stick with journalism and wine. lol
  13. I think it all depends b/c you can get some high quality wine for a low, low price ... IF you know what you are looking for. But if it's a white elephant or something like that -- spend the friggin' amount you are supposed to and if you get a $6 bottle of wine, get 3-4 bottles to meet the $20 limit, or whatever, right? (although stepping up to the 420 would make more sense, lol). There are some $20 bottles of wine that are no better than a $6 bottle ... so again, it really just depends. But, yes, if someone brings me a bottle of wine, I don't want to see Mondavi or Beringer or another generic wine that you can get just anywhere. Go to a wine store, tell them your price range and ask for an unusual but high quality wine in that range.
  14. Cool thread. I guess the last one got lost in the shuffle -- but that's okay since there are so many new, active members. I start my new job March 1 as a Wine Representative. I'll be working for a distributor to market/sell wines from various wineries around the world to the buyers of restaurants, wine clubs, bars, country clubs, etc.
  15. If your quotes are too high ... consider fewer days. We gave our guests the minimum 3-night prices for PPC ... and then how much it would be to add on per night should they want to stay longer. Your price quotes are all within reason. For PPC, our double occupancy rate for 3-nights was $559/pp ... plus $179/pp for each additional night. This does NOT include airfare -- which would make it $1275/pp for 7-nights, plus airafre, which has ranged from $200-$700 depending on when our guests booked it.

  17. PS -- I think they look GREAT!!! I'm hopefully going to finish and print mine soon too.
  18. I would ask the resort if you can have mousse instead of mouse. I'm just guessing your guests might prefer that. LOL. Sorry -- couldn't help myself.

  20. It was important for us to send invitations ... but I think it's really all a very personal choice.
  21. The arches are provided by the resort -- for a fee (usually starting at $200). Your WC should be able to send pics of different options .. or you should be able to pick once you arrive at the resort. If you found some pics you like, email them to your WC and ask how much something similar would cost.

Thanks Jessica Extras include, colored table linens, Cd/iPod/Speakers (or DJ), centerpieces, cake... the list goes on. We are bringing our own centerpieces -- simple shells and starfish we will scatter on each table, and 2-3 votives per table. I'd like to add the circular mirrors, but am trying to save $$. It's all adding up fast.
  23. The symbolic ceremony is less expensive than the legal marriage, so that's one reason why. I would just bring a copy of the marriage license application that you filled out in the US. Although it's obviously not official -- you will at least have something on paper if it is requested. We are doing a symbolic ceremony in the DR as well, but don't anticipate any problems. Our legal paperwork will only be filed a few days prior as well.
  24. totally pertty -- and you have the figure to pull it off! beautiful!!
  25. We are doing one bag per couple (got the $0.79 natural canvas bags from Promotional tote bags custom sizes and styles from cheap totes) and putting two travel mugs in each for the couples and one each if they are a single. In the DR, I've heard a lot about mosquitoes, especially at night -- so as an affordable alternative to 40 mosquito bite anti-itch sprays/lotions ... we are taking an economy pack of dryer sheets and small ziplock bags. The dryer sheets are used to rub on your skin after being bitten to stave off the itch. I'll also have a sticker on the outside of the ziploc so our guests know what it's for. My Mom got small individual packs of Avon Skin-So-Soft to add to the bags as bug spray. It works great and if you know an Avon rep, she can order samples for next to nothing. See if she will order some for your bags!!
