  2. You would think there would be more St. Lucia brides ... but I can't say as I recall any being members on here, at least since I have been. How is your planning going? Sounds like great stuff already in the works for your lodging/ceremony/reception pics! Post some pics if you have any of the places you've chosen!
  3. Love them Lisa! Especially the funny ones with the beer/parasols and with them holding up James. Too cute!!!
  4. I said ivory only b/c the icing was already light pink. Anything will be great though!!
  5. I found these pics and thought they were pretty cool ways to do some non-traditional bridal party pics. Have any shots from your wedding that stand out? Add them here as well. I'm hoping to have some different and unique ideas to show to my photog as opposed to the traditional posed bridal party pics.
  6. I have been using the AVON Microdermabrasion for a few more weeks now and must say that I LOVE it! I can tell a HUGE difference in my skin's tone, evenness and smoothness.

I saw the floating flowers and love it. I'm going to try it with some starfish and shells and see how that turns out as well!!
  8. How cool! This is a great gift as well! I love it!
  9. I found a TON of great ideas on the www.michaels.com site -- but I am going to stick with the starfish and flip flip molds. I think I know how to do the different colors now ... but it will definitely be an all-day project! lol. I hope I can find the time to get it all done with trying to get our house ready for new hardwoods and possibly selling, starting the new job, showers and b-party, final fittings, trying to come up with extra $$ for this wedding out of my a$$ and final prep and planning. AARRGGHH!!! Is there a smilie yet for :pulling my hair out: ??
  10. I TOTALLY agree! I have a handful of awesome girls who are going to be coming to mine -- but I don't think even ONE of my BM"s is going to be there (but totally understand my sis and FSIL, who live further away and my sis has to work weekends and has already taken off for 2 showers for me). But yep -- I know EXACTLY what you mean. Tom has said many times that if it weren't for BDW, I would have had virtually no help in the wedding planning. he is pretty much right for the most part. So, anyone near Wilmington, NC -- feel free to bring it on for my b-party! March 14-16! Woo-Hoo!!!
  11. Oh geez, ladies. Now I'm considering getting the barefoot sandals for the BM's to wear during the beach reception. I HATE BDW!!!! I get too many great ideas and hence spend way too much $$!!!!
  12. I LOVE the palm tree you used! Can you share that with us! I'd love to add that clip art and the colors to our Welcome Letters!!!
  13. How is everything coming Jen? YOu found BDW a little later in the process than I did ... so I hope you aren't going crazy with all of the awesome DIY ideas on here! LOL!!! Hey, when do you fly into PC? We leave on the 16th.
  14. Wow! That is gorgeous! Did you find it and try it on somewhere first? I absolutely LOVE it!!!
  15. OMG, Heidi ... I know EXACTLY what you mean. Tom has given me like $13K towards the DW and that doesn't have everything covered. Probably everything except the honeymoon (but that includes the small amount of $$ I've been able to contribute -- a couple hundred here and there plus my tac return). That leaves $3500 for the honeymoon that he is going to flip out about when he realizes it's not included in our current funding. AARRGGHH!! Truthfully, I have gone overboard in our planning (OOT bags, blah blah blah) and totally went over-budget in ssoo many areas. He also thinks (unbeknownst to me WHY) that MY parents are paying for the AHR. I have told him a million times that my parents gavce my the $$ set aside for my wedding years ago to help me get out of stupid college credit card debt -- but he still thinks they should be/are paying it. I hope to cover it on my own ... but with starting a new job ... it's HIGHLY doubtful. All I can say is "oh well". We were watching "How I Met Your Mother" night before last when Lily had to explain why they couldn't get approved for a lower interest rate on their apartment -- b/c of her bad credit. We laughed -- and I told Tom -- "at least you know already that mine sucks. There's still time for you to run." But he just laughed and said we're in it through thick and thin. So, I guess we shall see....

  17. Yeah, I agree with the other ladies ... without being on some sort of BCP ... I think you are outta luck...
  18. There are about 5 threads on this .. but this one has the most meat. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1200 This one has the next largest number of responses. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13535
  19. Oh that's great! I would do some OOT bags for your guests that are somewhat "Vegas" themed as opposed to beach themed as many of our are. Since it is a DW for your guests, I say you can certainly treat it like one!!! CONGRATS and WELCOME!!!

You'd be surprised at how many hotel guests (especially teenage kids w/ nothing better to do) would likely LOVE to see signs up saying you are out for the day. lol. Especially the bride and groom's room (I remember lots of discussion on that a few months back).
  21. I say no way. Our STD was a postcard (beach background w/ our pic and colors that complemented the background). Boarding Pass invites were more of a dark blue and bright orange than the aqua/teal we have as accent colors ... but our BM dresses are champagne and when it comes down to it ... we aren't really using the accent colors anywhere (lol) so I say do whatever the heck you want!

For example, have you been painting, moving, extra stressed, changed cars, driving more? I am just trying to think of things that I have experienced in causing back pain in the past. What kind of pain is it? Where does it start/end? Does it hurt all the time or just when you do certain things? It hurts especially more when I lie on the couch or try to sleep in bed (no new mattress or anything). But I am so sore that it even wakes me up at night now. I wouldn't say it's pain ... but instead it's soreness. FH and I lie on the couch together and watch TV and I had to keep switching positions, moving to the other end of the couch, etc b/c I was so sore and couldn't get comfortable. But nothing is new/different...
  23. Very cute! Might want to attach the pen to the door hangar as well if you want people to be able to leave you notes as well. Just a word of caution -- be careful about leaving detailed info about how long you will be gone for -- it's an invitation for thieves.
