  1. Bollerman. My maiden name starts w/ a "B" and is German ... as will my married name!

It just does not include any decorations, etc. My one disappointment with these is that you cannot insert a personalized slip that will show through on both sides. Whie it looks like it's a piece of white cardboard that you can remove and replace with something else ... in actuality ... the white cardboard is intact ... and the plastic is designed so you can only do an insert on one side. Having known this, I would not have ordered these, so FYI for when you get them. So, what I have been doing is using large address labels imprinted with our logo and put on one side, with the personalized info slip put insode the plastic. Does that even make sense?
  3. I think most of your guests woul still expect to hear the traditional wedding march, since most don't know about all the ideas on BDW. :-) So, if you found a beachy version of it, I think that's perfect! We are being relatively UN-traditional. "Ground Control to Major Tom" (Tom is an Army Major) will play as the cue for Tom and his GM to take their palces, as well as for the guests to be seated. Then it will segueway into Michelle Featherstone's "We Are Man and Wife" and Secondhand Serenade's "Awake". (The BM's will walk down the aisle to those two songs.) I will walk down the aisle to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole singing his melody of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World". As soon as we say 'I Do', Smashmouth's "I'm a Believer" will start playing as we kiss and walk back down the aisle. Toby Mac's "Made To Love You" (fast, upbeat song) might be what we are welcomed into the reception with. Esthero's "Everyday's A Holiday (With You)" is also a definite. And cake cutting is definitely to "I Wanna Grow Old With You" - Adam Sandler.
  4. It's great! I've got to get started on these timelines! OMG -- running out of time!!!
  5. Wow -- it's neck and neck. I guess we aren't really much help then, huh? lol I picked #2 b/c if you are not having all the flowers on the cake (just perhaps the bottom layer like you mentioned) then #2 would work perfect to pull it all together. Have you thought about chocolate candy shells instead of flowers? That would look really nice w/ #2.

I just need 3 dozen, so it will be under $40. But if you find any cheaper, let me know!
  7. I would love to but will pass since I'll be on DW during that time and NOT focused on the scale (although leading up to it I sure am!!!) Also, I think it definitely has to be % of weight lost (like they do on TBL) ... but the scale thing will be tough b/c I would sure not take a pic of the scale while at the gym. Maybe that's just me. You could also log your food and exercise diaries.

Would love to see you there! :-) I think I've sold myself on the tambourines too! I was thinking about mixing it up w/ maracas, tambourines and rain sticks ... but keeping it simple will be easier, which is what I need right now! Borrow away! Also, there are "design your own" ocean drums that I found (similar to rain sticks) and if I had time, I would TOTALLY do those b/c they are called "ocean" drums ... hence the DW connection ... but I have zero free weekends between now and then so I think I have to stick with tambourines. I think they are cute too though and since it was my and FH idea ... that makes it even better! lol

The tambourines I found are under $1 each, so they are even more affordable ... and I can use sticker monograms to put on the skin (if I have time...).
  10. Welcome! Glad to see more fellow Punta Cana brides! YEAH! Happy planning!!!
  11. It was only a matter of time ... but since we are flying with US Air, thank goodness we already have our tickets and won't be affected. There is only 1 person in our group who hasn't booked yet -- but he's a single guy so it's doubtful he'd have 2 checked bags. LOL. Geez, we are going to have like 3-4 checked bags EACH unless we can disperse some of our goods to some other guests.
  12. YEAH! That's great news! Photoshop to the rescue! Can't wait to see the pics!!!
  13. Welcome Carrie! I never posted on boards before either ... but you can see I've made it a new habit here on BDW! I hope you become a regular! Happy Planning!!

  15. lol. too funny!!! I go on kicks where I play every day and others where I don't play for weeks on end. I have won several times ... if only I had that luck w/ the REAL lottery!!!
  16. I do like the one that seals better -- and I think it would be better for your guests -- if you can swing the cost. Buit the second option is also good -- especially b/c it's free!!
  17. Good choice Lizz! Sometimes simple (cheaper!) is better .. and just as if not more beautiful!!!
  18. FI and I were trying to think of something fun to put at each guests place for the reception. We were at a friends house Sunday night and he took out his tambourine -- and we thought that would be a great idea. Mini tambourines that have a tag atatched reading something like ... "Forget about tapping your glass We've got even more class. If you want to see us kiss ... just SHAKE THIS!!!" These are the ones I've found for the least amount of money -- but they won't match any of our wedding colors (not that we really have a whole lot in the way of coordinating accent colors for the reception anyway). (12) ASSORTED PLASTIC TAMBOURINES - 5.5" - NEW!!!! - eBay (item 150218207671 end time Feb-27-08 18:30:48 PST) Then they could use them whiel dancing or whatever (I'm sure it will be interesting once the drinks are flowing!) Just wanting some feedback. I know a lot of ladies have done the maracas, which makes sense in Mexico ... but I was thinkingit might not fit in the DR as well ... so if we were going to do something that didn't fit -- what better than friggin' tambourines? lol
  19. Cool! Trying to decide on centerpieces to DIY right now. Great ideas here for inspiration!
  20. OMG! It DOES look amazing -- and so do YOU!!! YOu are a hottie and that dress was made JUST FOR YOU!!! I love how they did the gazebo. Simple and not too little or too much. You must have had some FUN with the second story in that room of yours!!!
  21. I'm out now til June -- earliest. No more free weekends at all...
  22. THat sux that you didn't know about the outrageous flower costs at RIU .
