  1. Hhmmm ... I don't have a boob issue (well I do have a LACK of boobs issue) ... The bust is the only place my dress is too big. If she can enhance that for you, and it fits well everywhere, I'd go with the 10.
  2. MelissaH -- your backdrop is simple, eyt perfect. A table with flowers would be fine I would think for you Carly.

Sounds like you are going to be one busy lady!!!
  4. Haven't been to Punta Cana yet ... but if you haven't check out Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information yet, there is plenty about golfing on their East Coast forum.

Initially it was a Garden View but they have gusranteed us Ocean View now, so we shall see. FH and I also have had to pay nothing other than our $300 deposit for our room (it should have been $1834), as she was able to get it comped for us AND give us a check for $1000 to use towards our HM resort at PPR. Can't ask for much more than that!

I'm almost done with Programs, menus, welcome letter... Got the Groom almost suited, got me almost gowned up. pressies are almost taken care of. Seems like i have a lot of stuff done just have a lot of little things like shoes, wrappings, printing everything out, organizing everything...and i'm getting freaked out.!!! OMG -- I am almost down to ONE month and am freaking out. Still "TO DO": -make soaps -finish fans -design/print: programs, welcome letters, mail-ahead newsletter, menus -get mom's pearls restrung for wedding dress -find earrings/bracelet -save more $$$!!! (about $5k short! OMG!) -get BM gift bags (embroidered bags -- already have everything to go in them) -wait for flowers to arrive -buy HM outfits -figure out who will help lug all our stuff to DW -finish playlist and burn to CD's I know there is more ... I'm too busy freaking out right now!!!
  7. We are doing it w/ a notary a few days prior to leaving for DW. No vows, no hoopla, just our signatures -- saving the rest for what we want to say to each other in front of family and friends -- which will serve as our 'real' wedding day in our head and heart. We are not telling anyone about the civil ceremony.
  8. Do a search for "AHR" or "at home reception" and you will find tons of links, info, pics and ideas. We are having an AHR about a month after our DW. Casual -- at FH bar/restaurant.
  9. LOVE the dress! It's beautiful! I would definitely try to negotiate. The bridal salon will want your business. Just have in writing a copy of the SAME dress on eBay with the price. if you don't get a price match, they will likely agree to lower the price for you ... which would likely end up being what you'd pay w/ alterations if you went the eBay route.
  10. Mine were single sided, except for the RSVP page which I used as a postcard and had our return address info on the back w/ a stamp.

  12. Their catalog is targeted towards African Americans ... and it does look like at least most of their hair products are developed for ethnic hair. I had no idea when I asked for it, nor does it matter b/c I am not using any of the hair products ... but my sister mentioned it after she got the items delivered and it came with the catalog, which uses exclusively black models (including Mary J and Jada). Jamy -- I am totally ready to try some of the other scents too. they all sound so YUMMY!!!!
  13. Who is familiar with Carol's Daughter - Personal and Beauty Care Items Inspired by Nature and Produced With Love? I first heard of this line during our Secret Cupid Exchange b/c Jamy (starchild) had it on her Wish List. I checked it out and the difference fragrance collections sounded just amazing. So, I told my sister that I'd like to try the Jamacian Punch line if anyone needed a gift idea for my shower. Well, my sister got all the BM's to chip in and I got this HUGE basket with the ENTIRE line of the Jamaican Punch Collection. Let me tell you ... I read so many fabulous reviews about this line that I asked for it w/o ever trying it ... and now ... every single person at my shower (including me, of course!) is in LOVE with this scent! The reviews talk about how it lasts all day and let me tell you -- I put on only the body lotion this morning (don't want too much scent at work and really just wanted to see if it would last) and I could smell the hint of scent all day long. It is absolutely amazing. I can only imagine once I layer with all the different things!!! This is going to be my wedding day scent and it's already become my favorite nighttime and weekend scent. I cannot tell you how amazing it is! My sister tried the Almond Cookie Collection and is head over heels for that one too. Anyway, just an FYI if you are looking for something new to try. Mary J Blige is also one of their models/spokeswomen as well as Jada Pinckett Smith. And thanks to Jamy for listing it on your Wish List and getting me curious enough to try it and now LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! (it's also at Macy's and Sephora, FYI).

I already had the logo made, so I just added the circle around it and the "Punta Cana" wording above. It really took no time at all to iron-on. Once they were printed (do test sheets on regular paper first!) you just run the iron over each transfer for about 2-minutes until the transfer adheres. I messed up on 2-bags b/c it said to do it for 3 minutes but those bags got scorched from the iron. So, I just decided to wing it and it worked better. After a few runs over w/ the iron, I would test to see if the transfer adhered, and kept doing a few wuick runs with the iron until it stuck. That way, no more scorching.
  15. That is an amazing dress and it looks amazing on you!!!! WOW!!! I love it!!!
  16. I am too lazy to do anything too creative ... but here it is...
  17. Yep, I have a Bank of America debit card that earns US Airways miles. Also, you can register any debit or credit card at Restaurants | Restaurant Guide & Ratings – Rewards Network to earn miles on the airline of your choice for paying for meals with the card. I always use my debit card at local bars and restaurants to pay and those miles add up FAST.

I used some from CheapTotes ... but also HP iron-on paper too. I like the HP paper better than what I got from CheapTotes ... only b/c the HP paper is standard 8 1/2 x 11 as opposed to the 8x10 CheapTotes paper. My logos printed smaller on the 8x10 paper. I ordered the HP paper from the HP website and used a coupon code and it was overnighted for free. Got some ink cartridges from there too.

For our PPC wedding: Our guests are staying in the Deluxe Junior Suite / Garden View (w/ possible upgrades at check-in based on availability). We have been upgraded to a Royal Service Ocean View Room at no extra charge. For our PPR Honeymoon: Royal Service Garden View (w/ possible upgrade to Ocean View based on availability at check-in).

  21. How many guests are you having? That's expensive for the bags if you are having more than a few bags b/c the cost to fill them adds up really quick too. Just IMHO. The OOT bags have put me well over budget. But your guests will love those. My only other thought is that going with less expensive ones if you have more thana handful of guests and doing the iron-on transfers is ceretianly a much more cost-effective option. We are doing nicer bags like these with embroidery for the BM's.
  22. I could use this stuff: -5 johnson & johnson first aid kits to go -3 flip flop playing cards -about 70 1 1/2 inch sand dollars (i could count, just haven't yet - there were 100 in batch, and we used one, but a few came broken) -2 boxes of immodium a-d, 72 caplets in each; expiration 9/09. both boxes new, bought on ebay and thought they were the individual packs. boxes a little crushed, as i traveled w/ them, but neither opened.
  23. There were penises everywhere last night. lol. Naked man tablecoth, penis ring toss, naked man playing cards... We had some extra penises from the "Pin the Penis" game and we taped them to our crotches and wore them out to the bar. Totally cheesy but it was funny. They taped mine to my butt so it looked like I was "taking it up the butt" and people were like "do you know there is something on your butt?" lol
