Girl, you know I feel your pain! I am freaking out too and I have at least a little more time than you do to get things done. Deep breath. I have to remind myself of that b/c I freak out daily now! -

Spanish/English dictionaries share?
foxytv replied to lyrebard's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Oh I would, but I don't have enough time. I've been checking target for the Spanish for Dummies $1 books, but to no avail. Oh well.... -

Sattui and they took us in the back where everything is actually made and stored, very cool. I would recommend trying to get a cave tour in somehow if you can. I have never done that but my aunt did one time and said it was amazing. Oh yes, the cave tours are awesome. We went on a 'field trip' Friday to a winery in NC that is part of our portfolio and went into the wine caves there. We did barrel tastings as well to see the differences between the bottled wine and what is still aging in the barrels. Oh, and my boss said to expect long, drunken, hungover days while there. He says we start at like 8am -- tasting at the first vineyard ... and it's a never ending cycle until about 10pm. OMG! Thank goodness wine is good for the heart!

I think we do like 10 wineries a day. Yeesh! Hopefully I'll get a complete itinerary and can share it. I remember your fabulous Napa wedding. Which winery was it?

It's been just over one month since I started mny new job as a Wine Rep for a nationwide distributor. Well, yesterday I found out that I have earned an incentive trip to Sonoma and Napa Valley!!!!! OMG!!!! I can't even believe it!!!! Only a month into this job and I've earned a TRIP!?!?!? Well, no doubt I LOVE my job ... although it has taken a lot of the needed time away from focusing on pre-wedding stuff. But it goes to show that the dedication I have put into the job in this first month has certainly paid off!!! I never would have imagined this! In one month, sales to my accounts are up 33% over this month last year and cases of wine sold are 152 more than this month last year. So, anyway -- my trip is from May 1-4 ... which means we return from our DR on Sunday, April 27 and I leave out for CA on Thursday, May 1. WOW! Anyone live in the San Francisco area? I know I will be busy, busy during my trip ... but on Saturday night, I will be staying in San Francisco to catch a Sunday flight. So, if anyone is in the area, let me know!!!!

Leaving In 2 Weeks and Fighting w/ FH *STRESS*

But seriously, since last week my mind's full of wedding details every night when I am laying in bed so I have not been able to sleep well either. And with your new job/long hours and finance, I am sure you're more stressed out than me. But hey tell Tom that, in two weeks your money is his money and his money is your money, so you're doing all these DIY projects to save money for both of you! We're going to get through this -- ! I'll be toasting to you in Jamaica on 'our' wedding day Thanks Sharon! Gosh, so hard to believe our BIG DAY will be here (for both of us!!!) in exactly 2 weeks!!! Things are going better, but I had another meltdown today. I wish Tom would stay out of the house on weekends so I can focus. But he is traveling all week next week so I think that will allow me to get most everything else done -- so long as my friggin' slow-ass computer doesn't make me throw it against the wall. Got my Pashmina tags printed today ... and am about to start on the Starfish Symbolism tags. Uh-oh ... Tom is back home. Ggggrrrr.... -
Thank you all... and planning PICS
foxytv replied to TATrisha's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Wow! YOu really did a fabulous job with everything! I don't remember seeing a lot of these planning pics of yours before now, so it's a real treat! I can't wait to see/hear all about it when you get back!!! -
We are having our rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants at our AI resort. Not a private dinner, so it's free (included). But our reception will be on the beach -- so it's $2500 for a buffet dinner, open bar, etc for 3 hours. Just b/c it's an AI does NOT mean that you will not have extra costs for your wedding and reception. Usually you WILL have added costs, it seems, unless you have a very small group and do one of the free wedding packages. Our reception will end up costing us about $3500 and the wedding will be about $600.

Yeah! I am so so so excited for them!!!!

What plates did you register for?
foxytv replied to DRbride's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Lenox Solitaire. Simple and classic -- and it was my parents china .. so they will be passing theirs down to me once they get moved in to their retirement home at the beach. They have almost a full set and we have already gotten about 8 place settings as shower or wedding gifts. -
Leaving In 2 Weeks and Fighting w/ FH *STRESS*
foxytv replied to foxytv's topic in Just venting or funnies
Thanks again ladies! Stephanie -- my flowers are EXACTLY like my siggy! They are beautiful ... and the BM ones look awesome too. I just showed Tom a BM bouquet and he was like "holy $hit ... they look REAL!" And, just finished my letter to send to guests beforehand -- only I'll be emailing it since we are cutting it vlose on time. -

You mentioned you still need to get some music? I have something like 3000 audio files in my playlist so maybe I have a song you need. Also, I Limewire like it's nobody's business so if you tell me the titles you need I can get them and send them to you. You have my email or just PM me if you can use a hand Thanks Jamy! I have a lot already downloaded but still have to organize it and burn it onto CD's. And we are going to a friends house on Sunday -- he has a bunch of 60's/70's rock/shag/etc music that we are going to add in, and then I think we'll have it covered. I've already "borrowed" plenty of your song selections and those of others from the song list thread. I do need some extra up-to-date dance songs if you can suggest any. I'd be happy to put them together for you if you want to point me in the right direction. I even have a 2" circle punch if you want round ones! You are awesome! I have the hang tags for my OOT bags done ... but I want to make some hang tags to add to the fans that have a description of the starfish symbolism. I'm also going to add a tag to each pashmina for the ladies w/ a definition of what a pashmina is. I think (hope) I can get them done and cut and then Mom and I will assemble once we get to the DR. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++ You ladies are truly unbelieveable! I have sait it time and time again -- and I'll say it yet again ... I really don't know how this DW would have come together without BDW and all of your help/support/guidance/etc. Last night ... I got done with work late -- like 9pm ... but I met Tom out at our bar and drank some (more) wine (lol, I had been 'tasting' all day at work with customers). He asked if I needed to get home b/c he knew I was stressed and as you ladies suggested ... I said that no, I was not going to think about wedding stuff that night. So we had a good time and after a few extra cocktails I told him about just how bleak my financial end of things are and that that was at the core of a lot of my stress. I think he finally got it b/c he told me not to worry about it - just to get done the DIY stuff that I want to get done but not to stress anymore over things. So, hopefully he stays true to his word and doesn't freak when we get the bill after the reception. lol. Anyway -- so we went and applied for our marriage license yesterday morning as well ... and he picked it up today!! (we're having the notary sign the paperwork with us Sunday, April 13). So he is all excited and wants me to meet him out again tonight. Geez! :-) I was supposed to go to the gym tonight but got done w/ work too late so I cancelled my training appt and am plugging away at this DIY stuff instead ... and will have to tell him no-go on the brewskies for tonight. lol My flowers from Angel arrived today too .. so one more thing not to worry about -- although it's BIG box to figure out how to transport!! I am bummed that I have only had time to get to the gym about 4 times in March ...and feel like all of my hard work there since January isn't going to show at this rate ... but I am going to get there this weekend and next weekend and hopefully at least a few weeknights, but my work schedule is packed tight. I guess I am going to have to try getting up at 5am and going before work. ugh. Anyway -- thanks for letting me vent again -- and thanks for the support and feedback. I feel much better about things now -- especially after Tom and I talked. :-) -
Veils online?

I am just now catching up on this thread -- so perhaps what I am about to suggest has already been mentioned, but as your MOH, why not give her the option of picking another David's Bridal dress in the same color. My MOH has a different dress than the other BM's -- but in the same color. I do agree with some of the others that strapless can be a very self-conscious thing for many people . Heck, I even kinda wish I hadn't picked a strapless wedding gown for myself now that I see the extra armpit fat that's impossible to get rid of.

Veils online?

Champagne veil to match the trim of my dress. -

I'm not worried about "us" ... thank goodness I know we will get past all this ridiculousness ... I am just up to my ears in so much stress I want to pull my heair out. He is willing to help ... but the stuff left to do is all stuff I need to do online -- design more hang tags (and get them printed) finish selecting and downloading our playlists (we are finishing this together this coming weekend), designing/writing/printing the welcome letter and wedding day timelines, completing centerpieces (Mom is helping with this), etc etc. It's a lot, but it's not a lot. It's just I don't have enough hours in the day leading up to our departure date. Maybe I should just drink some wine... lol (instead I'm listening to Tom peacefully snore away in the bedroom as I am out here online surrounded by boxes of wedding stuff). -
I love this one: Pedro Capo / Esta Noche We're playing it during the reception! Album name is Fuego y Amor (haven't heard the album but bet it's great!).

My dress is ivory and i don't want the veil to look white. the website says the less layers the less you can see the color. What do you think? 1 layer or 2? If your sample is a big enough piece of material, fold it over a couple of times and you should be able to see the difference in the colors when comparing the samples side by side. My samples all looked alike, but folding them over shows their true color. Mine is a single layer in champagne and it is perfect with my dress. -
I think I am really just on edge with nerves b/c I know I have so much left to do, little time to do it ... and Tom thinks I should have been able to put more $$ towards this DW. I am just ssoo stressed that I have been snapping at him almost every day when he even so much as brings up the wedding. And my stress level is so high I am almost in tears when I get home every night. Starting my new job has been so fabulous, but boy-oh-boy ... the timing. I am SSOO busy with this job -- many 10+ hour days -- that I am not sleeping well, not having time to get to the gym or tanning bed, not able to finish up these DIY projects, not make it to the mall to use my VS gift cards .... not to mention that my friggin' laptop still is a P.O.S. so getting online to BDW or to do DIY stuff is next to impossible. I know that whatever doesn't get done, simply doesn't get done ... but right now I just need to know how to NOT keep freaking out internally. Tom and I are snapping at each other and not meaning to ... we are both doing all we can to tiptoe around each other b/c of MY stress level. He just doesn't seem to understand that while I haven't been able to contribute much monetarily, that I have SAVED us a ton of money -- and have been working my a$$ off to get things done, especially the DIY stuff. Don't get me wrong, he does know I have put a lot of time and effort into it ... but I just seem to think that counts for something. It's easier to write checks when you have the money than to do actual work to make a DW happen, IMHO. Anyway, it will all be over soon .. and we will be sunning on thea beaches of Punta Cana ... I just hope we can get through these last 2 weeks before we leave. Thanks for letting me vent...

OMG Hilton Head is ssoo awesome! Tom's parents live there now and we LOVE to go visit. I agree with JIll, definitely check out Dafauskie Island. That would most definitely be my choice, if your budget allows. You could either do the wedding at the Club or rent a house/houses on the island. It's so unique since the only access is by boat and then you drive around in golf carts. Astonishingly beautiful as well!
