  1. I can't remember if I ever posted our final decision on this one -- but it's "Nine Times Out Of Ten" by Teddy Pendergrass.
  2. he he, Carly. That is ssoo cute! Crush whoeever you want! I always hearted guys who my friends didn't think were cute -- and I liked it that way -- LESS COMPETITION!!! lol Anyway, I don't know who this guy is 'cos I try not to watch Idol ... but that IS the song I am walking down the aisle to and I LOVE it!
  3. I made it clear on our wedding website that there are other resorts nearby, but that there is a daily fee for coming onto our resort if guests stay elsewhere. Our photogs are the only ones who have chosen to stay at another resort ... so they are responsible for the fee. But try negotiating with the resort for lower rates. Our Day Pass fee is $95 from 10am-6pm and $95 from 4pm-11pm so our photogs (two of them) would need 2 passes each on the wedding day and one each for the Rehearsal Dinner and one each for the TTD session ... so I am negotiating with our WC to get a single rate pass for the wedding day at least and perhaps meeting the photogs off-resort for the TTD.
  4. I think your cut looks great! Is your hair naturally straight? Mine is curly so that style is a pain for me, although I tried it before. But truly, it is beautiful!
  5. I got mine at the Dollar Store too (along with the fixin's for our centerpieces among other things...). I had printed out monograms on large address labels to use w/ our DIY luggage tags, but the tags were not what I thought when I ordered them so I am using the labels for our first aid kits instead and they are perfect!

I know I have been MIA on here since I started my new job -- and when I have been on I have been stressed, but how weird that we are less than a week from leaving and I am ssoo much calmer than I have been in the last 3 weeks or so. I simply can not wait to get on that plane and get to our DW locale!!!
  7. Mine will replace the pron mags that he has in the second drawer under his sink in the bathroom -- hidden under the atlas where he doesn't necessarily think he hides his porn ... lol. My photog I gave rights to use them b/c it was her first BD shoot and we didn't do anything as risque as many of you other ladies (jealous now that I didn't get dirtier though...). An easy stipulation in the contract for you though. Truly, these pics -- to me -- are more of a wedding gift to let him know we did our best to look sexy for him (and hopefully for us to look back on and think how sexy we were/are!) ...and I actually DO hope FH uses them in the same way he uses his porn mags. lol
  8. We didn't have a photog picked when we had our engagement pics done -- so we just had them done at JC Penney. They were very mediocre ... and we decided not to put them in the paper as planned ... but out parents love them and it was a nice thing to have done. If you can get the more artistic photos done, by all means I say do it. it's great to have those kind of shots done of you two together (from what I've seen from so many BDW gals!) BEFORE the big day! If you can work it in to your photog package or find a good photog to do them on your own -- I would definitely do it! Plus it gives you pics to use for engagement announcements, etc.
  9. or try a gardening store (even home dfepot or lowes)
  10. Wow! Everything is absolutely amazing! And I don't think I had ever seen you in your dress -- BEAUTIFUL! (you AND the dress!!) Ssoo much great stuff!!!! It is going to be amazing for you! Love the gazebo strands!
  11. Oh I am ssoo sorry to hear that. But, I've seen those dresses and I think they only look good on the models. Just something about being able to move that material in so many ways that freaks me aout about finding the right "fit" for me too. I would see about having them all pick their own style in the color of your choice from David's or a similar store.

  15. Wow! You look AMAZING and the entire bridal party -- including Reggie, of course -- is stunning!!!

I failed to mention that I simply took a thin ivory ribbon and ran it through the fan and tied the card & charm to the fan, using a small 1/4" hole punch on the card. Make sense? Really easy. And I used a corner rounder to make the starfish cards look nicer. I was very pleasantly surprised with how they turned out!
  17. So, I decided to add my "Starfish Symbolism" cards to the Raffia Fans and will have one on each chair for the ceremony. Any left behind after the ceremony will be gathered up and brought to the reception -- although it's a 5pm reception and not likely to be in need of fans. It reads as follows: Starfish Symbolism The star -- as well as the Starfish -- are seen as celestial symbols and as such, they represent infinite divine love. In addition to love, the Starfish also holds characteristics such as guidance, vigilance, inspiration, brilliance and intuition. In Christian symbolism the Starfish represents the Virgin Mary (Stella Maris which means Star of the Sea) who lovingly creates safe travel over troubled waters and is also seen as an emblem of salvation during trying times. May your travels be safe. May your love be both infinite and divine. Love, Tami & Tom I've also attached the MS Word document with the watermark image and text. It looks really, really nice printed on a tan colored heavy card stock paper. I got the starfish charms off eBay for like $0.99 plus shipping for a set of 50. I got 50 silvertone and 50 goldtone. I am using the charms on the Starfish Symbolim cards as well as for the Pashmina cards for the BM's. Depending on how many are leftover when I am through, I can pass some along to another Bride to Be here on BDW!. They are PERFECT. Starfish Symbolism.doc
  18. Great -- one more thing I WANT but really can't afford to ADD to my OOT bags at this point. lol, I'm sure I'll end up being celestially drawn to Michael's before we leave next week to buy these friggin' candles though, regardless. hehe.

  20. Ok, I FINALLY have my centerpieces complete. $2.25 each -- got everything (minus the shells which I already had) at Dollar Tree. Our colors are aqua and coral, so the candle is coral and the plate and candle holder are blue-ish/aqua with shells around. Other than the centerpieces, the tables will be all white. 5 large round tables which will seat 8 people each for our beach reception.
  21. I picked D b/c after having done lots of DIY stuff, easier is better. Trust me! :-)
  22. Very nice! No AHR invites for me. We just aded the info to our DW invites -- Boarding Pass style. No time or money for more -- so I am envious! They look FAB!!!
  23. Definitely DIY as far as invites, etc. To keep costs down, the best advice or suggestion I can make is to not do any private functions at the resort. But that all depends on how set you are on a true reception. You can have a dinner for all the guests after the ceremony and as long as it's not 'private' (i.e. the restaurant can still seat other guests) you should incur no additional costs. Then, you could just have everyone meet at one of the bars for an informal reception. Of course, other guests would be able to have drinks there as well, but it's really the only way to keep costs down. Our reception is costing us over $3000 b/c it's private -- and that is for a 3-hour beach/buffet reception ... so it's easy for costs to add up fast. I would also receommend doing the legal marriage paperwork before you leave b/c our 'symbolic' ceremony is costing us $400 as opposed to the $1000+ cost if we did the legal ceremony. No one will know the difference and we are going to celebrate our DW as our anniversary date. Hope that helps...
  24. Awesome! Thanks for posting! I think I need to let a lot of our guests know about the harrassment at the airport b/c many have never traveled internationally and won't know what to do with people coming up to them like that. Should they simply keep looking until they see someone with a sign that has their name on it or what's the best advice as far as finding your tour company for the transfer?
