We are going to grab a bite and I should be able to post more after we get back. Oh, BTW -- Tom wore his military dress blues for the ceremony and looked absolutely stunning -- but was sweating so bad that we had him change the second the ceremony was over. Hopefully someone will send me some of the ceremony pics soon so I can show you how handsome he is! :-)

Okay, here are a few non-pro teaser pics from our Paradisus Punta Cana wedding and our DR honeymoon. And here is a link to my BIL's pics. A few of the rehearsal, then some wedding and the rest just famil/friends pics of people who were with us. We were VERY pleased with the food at both our wedding and honeymoon resort. The wedding resort rehearsal dinner was phenomenal as was the reception food. The buffets are good (in our opinions) but it's a lot of the same day after day .. which is why it is important to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants to order nicer meals off the menus. The a la cartes we ate at at both resorts were exceptionally good. No one got sick and everyone enjoyed all their meals, regardless of whether it was the buffett or a la cartes.

Wow those are some gorgeous pics! You look ssoo beautiful!

I need to have 250 made, the boarding pass is 3 pages. Any help? All you need to do is go to a craft store and get a corner punch and an Xacto knife. The corner punch will round the corners and the Xacto is for the inset edges. It takes time but saves you so much money and is totally worth it to be able to say you did it yourself. Especially when they look so good no one will believe they are DIY!

So it's a done deal. I don't have a pic of the signing, but we took a video on my camera phone of our "toast" afterwards, so I will post that when I get home from work tonight and get it uploaded. We wnt out for drinks after and I have a headache this morning. lol. It was fun to be out w/ all our friends and be able to give each other secret glances and no one know why. :-) -
Alternatives to Glass Clinking???
foxytv replied to MrsV-to-be's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Mini tambourines at each place setting with little tags that say " if you wanna see us kiss, shake this!". That's what we wanted to do, but ran out of time to get the tambourines. I found some on eBay that would have been perfect -- like 48 for $30. I have some last minute shopping to do while on the road for work today, so if I come across any tambourines, I'm still going to get them. I adore the idea and we cam e up with it ourselves while at a friends house. he is like 65 and breaks out his tambo every time we come over b/c we start drinking and listening to music and it's ssoo much fun. -

We ordered them from 2008 Prom Dresses - Wedding Dresses - Bridemaids - Mother of the Bride Gowns and they were abolut $20 cheaper than elsewhere, with free shipping to each BM and they arrived ahead of schedule. -

Thanks ladies!!!! That's exactly why we're doing it this way. We don'ty want it to take away from our DW in any way ... so really this won't even "feel" real to me ... b/c we both know it's not when we will exchange vows in front of family and friends. And I think this way it makes it easier to justify to people down the road should anyone find out. -
We are simply going to meet with a friend of mine who is a Notary and she will sign the paperwork with us. We aren't doing a ceremony, vows, or ring exchange ... and aren't even getting dressed up .... but I guess as of this afternoon we will be single no more! I'm trying to get as much pacvked and completed today as possible beforehand b/c I am sure we'll be throwing back some cold ones afterwards. lol.

Picked up my dress today! PICS!
foxytv replied to Maura's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Beautiful dress! I see what you mean about having the bust area be able to show more cleavage .... but that is a gorgeous dress and it looks phenomenal on you! -
Our resort is an AI, and while the cost for guests to attend is reasonable .... the extra fees that are added in to our cost of the ceremony asnd reception are pretty high. So much for an "affordable" DW. I stopped keeping count of our budget b/c it blew out the window ... but I'd say we are looking at about $25k instead of the $18K we had hoped for.

I just woke up ... and I usually LOVE to sleep in on weekends ... but ssoo much to finish doing today ... and this afternoon we are meeting with a friend of mine who is anotary to sign our "legal" wedding papers! Maybe I'll have a Red Bull and Jager beforehand, lol. :-) -

Help me find cake inspiration
foxytv replied to StephanieMN's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I've never had fondant (my Mom makes cakes as a PT job) but she always makes her own icing, which is amazing. Fondant does look pretty -- but I've never itched to try it b/c it also looks like it wouldn't be very good, to me anyway. lol -
Bridesmaid Beach Bags

I like the canvas ones best -- simply for practicality purposes, b/c I think they will get more use out of them in the long run. -

The candles are also from DT (4 for $1). We already had shells ... so that brought it to only $2.25 per centerpiece. The plates are plastic too so we don't have to worry as much about them breaking during transit. My Mom found them actually -- and then I found the candleholders. They also have starfish shaped bowls in the same color scheme as the plates, so I picked up a few of those to use for snacks at the AHR. I LOVE the Dollar Tree!!! -
