I am finally getting around to going through and taking stock of my DW extras that I am either willing to sell or give away. Hopefully there will be a few things in here that some of you upcoming BDW brides can use! Please only ask about the free items if you truly plan to use them. I would hate to see anything that was so precious to me for my wedding go to waste. There is a lot – so it will likely take a few posts to get everything listed. Let me know if you need more/better pics or descriptions of anything. Veil – I absolutely LOVE my veil. It’s from Ansonia Bridal and retails for about $425, but I paid $125. I’ll take a minimum of $75. It’s champagne with fabulous detailing around the edge w/ rhinestones, beads and thread. Ask if you want more specific pictures. It’s a single tier, not quite fingertip length. SOLDParasols. I bought these (plain white) through Oriental Trading and have 6 that have not been used and are still in the original packaging. Free. Shipping only. SOLD Fans. I have 15 leftover w/ various colored ribbon handles that can be changed to suit your color scheme. Free. Shipping only. SOLD “Sexy Little Bride” panties from VS. Brand New / Never Worn. Size M. SOLD “Just Married” Sexy Little Things tank from VS. Worn once but Like New. Size M. SOLD “Bride” Tank from Custom-Crystals.com. Worn a few times before the wedding, but Like New. Size L. (This was a gift from my Secret Elf, but I figure it’s best to keep these tanks in circulation, since we only wear it once, right?) SOLD Crinoline Skirt for under wedding gown. Nothing wrong with this, but I simply won’t ever need a crinoline again. Size 12 from David’s Bridal (sizing is the same as wedding gowns, runs SMALL). Free. Shipping only. I can post a pic if you like, but it’s pretty self explanatory. J My TTD dress. Worn only once and it does need to be cleaned from the sand. But if you want a TTD dress – this is perfect. No rips, tears, etc.David’s Bridal / Michalengelo / Size 12. No alterations / no bustle. Shipping & packaging only.

Quote: Originally Posted by Maura actually this is kinda funny.... the whole reason why i tried this out for you guys was because yesterday when i went to my dress fitting, my seamstress was telling me how another bride of hers started alli the same week in february that she ordered her dress, and the girl's wedding was last weekend. her final alterations were about 3 weeks ago -- she ordered the dress in a size 16 and when it came time for her alterations, she had to have her dress taken in two whole sizes and a smidge more in a few places like the underarms. my seamstress liz was telling me that the girl told her that the couple times she ate over the 15 g of fat in a meal with the pill in her system, she got "sick" and that was enough to keep her from doing it again -well liz wanted to know what she meant by "sick" and she told her she dripped so much grease it was like a faucet! LOL so i thought why not just eat a couple grams over and see what it does. worst case scenario i spend a few hours dripping grease from my butt, and i end up like this girl who got her dress taken in 2 sizes LOL lol. You are too funny, Maura!! AND, you rock for doing a test study for us, lol. I think I am going to try it -- after I go to Waffle House for a triple order of hashbrowns scattered smothered and covered and then make fettucine alfredo for dinner tonight. Then I'll go buy some fruits and veggies and get down to business!!

At our DW in the DR ... I had no choice but to wear my hair curly every day. There was nothing I could do to keep it straight. But I can tell you that the girls at the resort salon worked wonders on our wedding day and my hair looked absolutely fantastic. The only thing I could even get to somewhat work was putting on a hair gel when my hair was wet and smooting it back into a ponytail, then dousing w/ hairspray. That worked pretty well. But, to straighten my hair like I usualy do every day was useless and impossible.

Wow! I think they both look great. I do think the halter one gives you a more busty look, but it could just be the angle of that picture too. I think the strapless looks fabulous on you. My gown was strapless and I started freaking out as the big day got closer thinking that all my armpit fat was going to ooze over the dress ... but in the end I worried for nothing -- although I did work out w/ a trainer to focus on that area well-beforehand. lol :-) And it doesn't look to me like you need to lose anymore weight! You are a gorgeous bride-to-be!

Another question: Does the Alli curb your hunger or does it solely regulate what your body stores/releases? I did the research a few months back but just can't remember offhand. And, since my sales job is Wine, and I am tasting wine with customers all day .. I wonder how that will affect my body if I do try Alli?

I would really like to try this, but I work in sales and am in the car all day long travelling from one account to the next. I can not fathom having to "go" while driving or having an "oops" so I am really leery about giving this a shot ... so any input you ladies can offer about the likelihood of having to "go" and not getting to the restroom in time (i.e while driving) would be greatly appreciated. I lost a good amount of weight before the wedding, but now and seeing it return all too quickly -- mainly b/c getting to the gym hasn't been so easy with my new job.

I've taken Amtrak before and I don't recommend it (for anyone) but especialyl not for a newborn. They are dirty and I was a little scared .. but perhaps a private cabin room would be different. I'm still reading through the thread so I may be behind the 8-call as far as getting caught up -- so my apologies if I am. I'll go finish reading now. :-)

Our WC at the resort secured a reservation at one of the a la carte restaurants for our group (40) for a non-formal rehearsal dinner. I had to pick the menu ahead of time since it was a large group but there was no extra charge. This is the way to go IMHO b/c there is really NO reason to spend MORE money at an AI for a privatized rehearsal dinner. We all had a GREAT time and then went drinking and dancing afterwards.

We only added a Hand Ceremony and kept everything else short and simple with teh resorts ceremony wording. 10-minutes tops and the longest part was the reading of the Hand Ceremony. I had different CD's for each component of the wedding (Pre-Ceremony ... GM get in place ... BM walk down aisle ... My song -- then as soon as we said "I DO" another CD for us to walk out to and then continuing w/ music for mingling during pics.) However, the Pre-Ceremony music got all screwed up and played at the wrong time so they had to restart the song for BM's to walk down the aisle. My suggestion would be to have a friend run the CD player b/c the resort just didn;t quite comprehend what I wanted and so it didn't go as planned, but it was still totally fine and wonderful. At the reception, we wanted to cut the cake to Adam Sandler's "I Wanna Grow Old W You" but we had too many songs leading up to it and it didn't jive, so that song never even got played, which sucked, but oh well, no on knew but us...

Oh good! I totally forgot about this upon my return from our DW ... and I won't be able to add my pic until we get our hi-res CD of the pr-pics. I definitely want to be a part so I'll get working on my entry and then send the pic when I can, but I think it will be August before I get the CD.

I know there are more ATL area peeps on BDW these days ... so thought I'd throw this out there. I'll be in ATL July 11-14 for my sister 30th b-day. She's going skydiving on Saturday and we're taking her to the Poets/Pirates Tour (Kenny Chesney/LeAnn Rimes/Sammy Hagar/etc) concert at Turner field on Sunday. So, if anyone lives or will be in the area that weekend, let me know if you are up for dinner and/or drinks Fri or Sat night. Should be a good time!

I did not take nor need a converter. I honestly can't remember about the 3-prongs ... but all I plugged in was my flat iron, which is 2-prongs.

Wow, that is crazy! I had a 'friend' talk behind my back about my e-ring. Very similar in looks and attitude as your 'frien' it sounds like. And I had a lady from our corporate offices at my last job tell me how "small and dainty" my e-ring was. I could not believe she would say somethign like that. First, it was neither of those things, and second, WTF? I always told Tom I didn't want a huge rock ... so he got me a platinum Tacori that's out of this world ... Who the $%#! do people think they are?

Congrats! You're changing your name from "Ms. DIY" to Mrs. Mike"!!! Oh so happy for you! Can't bellieve your day is already here, but I know it is going to be so perfect!

What did your groom wear to the wedding?
foxytv replied to DreamsComeTrue's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My husband wore his military dress blues for our pre-ceremony pics and the actual ceremony ... but he was sweating in balls off the moment he stepped outside in it. We had khaki pants and a light shirt for him to change into for the reception ... and he changed almost the MOMENT the ceremony was over b/c he was ssoo hot. We are glad he wore his dress blues ... but just as glad we had a second outfit for him to change into. Here are pics of each outfit: -
Wedding slideshow - finally!

Post pics of your Wedding Cake!
foxytv replied to EricaG's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
This is what I asked the resort to replicate. I just LOVE this cake. However, this is what we got. I like it but it's not what I envisioned and since they used all the REAL shells and starfish that I gave them for the centerpieces, we could only eat the back half of the cake, lol. But it was AMAZING -- everyone RAVED about how fantastically yummy it was. And these are the cupcakes I made (w/ help from 2 friends and Mom) for our AHR. I LOVED these! -
Yeah! Great gifts so far!!! My Secret Elf isn't giving me many ideas ... so I'm having to get creative -- and crossing my fingers she loves it! :-) Should be sending it out next week (which is surprising b/c I am always ssoo last minute. ugh!)
