  1. I was a New Anchor/Investigative Reporter for 13 years (several small news/talk radio stations, then NBC and FOX TV networks). I quit when it wasn't fun anymore, but I had very successful career. More than two dozen Associated Press Awards, SC Reporter of the Year, Emmy wins and nominations, etc. Now, I sell wine and absolutely LOVE my job. I expect to keep this as my second career until retirement. I work with restaurants, country clubs and bars mostly, as well as some fine wine shops. We have a portfolio of about 4,000 wines and I will taste wines with my customers and help them configure their wine lists. Plus, I get to travel to a lot of different areas of the country and other countries for training at different vineyards, etc,

  4. I like the Melissa Sweet dresses. More fun and not so formal, and able to be worn again as cocktail dresses. Plus it gives your BM's the most style options.
  5. DH and are are very independent, sometimes too much so. He travels a lot for work, and I work some crazy hours ... so we really don't see each other a lot. We do a lot of things together though, we love to take trips together and just go out with friends together. But we do a lot of things on our own too, and neither of us mind. We talk on the phone probably 2-3 times during the workday just to see how each other's day is going and when we will each be home. DH was in Iraq for 14 months, so we are each used to being apart and being very independent. We just have to make sure that we make time for "us" privately as well.
  6. I've had issues with supplements as well. One was the Womens Weight Smart One A Day. I woul get sick from 5-25 minutes after taking it so I had to stop. My DR said there was just something in it that didn't agree with me. She told me what it likely was but I can't recall. I need to take some prenatals and probably some calcium right now since I'm nursing this darn broken foot.
  7. Oh, I can't wait to see it. I've been a huge Heath Ledger fan and while never big on Batman, can only imagine how phenomenal this one is. We were going to go tonight after dinner for part of my b-day, but I decided we should wait til next week or a weeknight in hopes of not such a crowded/sold-out theatre.
  8. Oh great job! They turned out fabulous and isn't it a great feeling to have done them DIY, even with the hiccups? :-)

Keep 'em coming!!!

The wine dept at the store can be very intimidating if you have zero knowledge about wine. If you are bored w/ S Margherita, try San Angelo Pinot Grigio ($12.49 in our local stores). It's an unbelieveable quality wine for a great price.
  12. Laura those pics are so great and you and Robin are just radiating love and happiness! Absolutely adore l'il Rayden and his outfit. Your cake is to die for and I just love how you look walking with that kickin' parasol!!!

Explosive flavors—tropical fruits and spices with a balancing layer of zesty citrus from the mid-palate on through to the extended finish. Seems to fill every corner of the mouth. If you want to splurge (although it's not much more) try the Mer Soleil SILVER. I used to be huge on Australian and South African wines, but before I knew it I was buying mostly all CA wines. Only certain white wines are sweet, like Rieslings, etc. There are lots and lots and lots of dry white wines (try a Viognier or an oaked Chardonnay) that won't have the super-fruity or floral aromas, just in case you want to try some more whites! I used to only drink reds, but since I started selling wine for a living, I have obviously learned a lot more and been able to find whites that I love. There are even dry, non-sweet rieslings. Try an Alsace riesling, most of those are on the f=drier side. There is also one called Kuhl Dry that you might like as a "starter" white if you don't like 'em sweet.
  14. Morgan, you amaze me!!!! I haven't even ordered my pro pics yet (but I was waiting for a new laptop so we could pick them w/o being dumped offline continuously, lol). What program did you use for this photobook? I love it and your pics are great!
  15. How cute! I love when animals pose for the camera! Her eyes look so blue in the middle.
  16. Ann, I'm just ssoo glad she is home and healthy and happy! It's crazy that her due date was really just a few days ago! My SIL's baby was born 3 months premature and it was touch-and-go for a long time (almost a year) so it's such great news Gwen got to get home and get settled (despite all the jumping through hoops to get you guys home!).
  17. I got teary-eyed when I saw the look on Andy's face as you walked down the aisle (and when I heard the music since that was my song too!!!) Did your veil come off during the ceremony? It looks like it was there and then gone and then there again at the reception, lol.

  19. I just LOVE those pics! Especially the one of "Four Cassies" and the one of that fabulous fire sky! Your photog is absolutely amazing!!!!
  20. Schramsburg is a good, affordable sparkling. Bollinger is even better. California wines: Matanzas Creek, Murphy Goode, Cardinale, Alexander Valley Vineyards, KJ Taylor Peak, ... let me know more about what you like from CA already and I can recommend some others.
  21. Try Sauvignon Republic ... they are amazing Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand. From Australia, Kim Crawford's line is fabulous, as is the D'Arenburg brand. I could go on and on. lol.
  22. Oh I love them! What a great great setting!!!! I want to go back and do just photo shoots for a week! lol.
  23. Hi ladies, A good friend of mine is planning a 'surprise' wedding reception for she and her husband next month. This is their 2nd marriage so they went to Charleston, SC for a small, quiet wedding ... but she wants to have a small 'reception' type party for them on their anniversary. I'm trying to help her think of ideas and I know she wants pineapples to go along with their initial Charleston wedding 'theme.' They also wore black and white for their ceremony, but I suggested she also add some color to help make the setting 'pop.' It's being held in the one of the small ballrooms and verandas of their country club. Only about 50 people, with Malibu and Pineapple as their signature drink. Any ideas would be great. I want to help make her invites and do any decorating that I can for her. I knew you ladies would be great with ideas. It's going to be August 8, so time is of the essence, which means we can't get crazy, but some simple DIY things I can definitely get done.
  24. Paradisus resorts say there is a deposit, but I was able to have it waived based on the number of rooms we had already reserved through our TA, so my thinking is that most of this will be negotiable based on your plans.
