  1. So many beautiful pics! I teared up at 437. sssoooo sweet. I love to see emotion shine through in men!
  2. I had everything planned, and it worked out wonderfully, except we never got through half of our dance music b/c dinner took a little longer and our reception time was up sooner than we expected. So, be flexible with the dances and tosses, etc ... and don't hold back any of your favorite songs to play "later in the evening" ... we missed out on several 'must-have' songs b/c we did that.
  3. haha -- I thought this thread was about BEING a "tiny destination bride." I was just going to say "NOT ME!"
  4. No luck here for me. I wore them to a Christmas party once and had to have the staff at the Hyatt (luckily I knew one of the girls who worked there) get duct tape so I could tape the fake boobd back on. They came off as soon as we started dancing - like others mentioned above - because of sweat. I would have been too paranoid to use them for my wedding. I would recommend having cups sewn into your dress ... and a little hint form a former pageant girl if you want some extra "oomph" .... have your Mom or a BM bring duct tape ... band over a sqeeze your boobs together to get cleavage ... then apply the duct tape under the boobs. It won't come off even in sticky, sweaty heat, won't show under your slinky dress, and will just look great with some sewn in cups. (Just be sure to rip it off before the wedding night bedroom dance!)
  5. Viviana was my WC at PPC when I got married there in April. She transfered to PPR shortly thereafter. You will have no problems with Viviana. She is great and if you have Royal Service then you couldn't ask for anything more. The resort is amazing, just stunning - hard for words or pictures to even do it justice. Be sure to eat at the private Royal Service restaurant - the food is phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about PPR. And if you walk to the right on the beach from the resort - there is real, local shopping on the beach about 1/4-1/2 mile down and then Jellyfish Restaurant on the beach as well. Jellyfish is a MUST - the food is the best I have had ... we actually walked there for dinner 2 nights, even though it was off-resort and not included. It was worth every penny both times!!! Let me know if you'd like any pics, etc. I have some pics of PPR from a beach reception that was going on when we arrived for our honeymoon - as well as a ton of general resort pics.
  6. LOVE these! You look phenomenal and your photog was fantastic! Your DH is going to flip, sista!

  8. So upsetting to read about this. I think just about all of us have been disappointed by a friend during the wedding planning process -- but you have enough other things to concentrate and don't need to deal with those who don't want to be there for you during trying times. I say do whatever feels right to YOU and don't worry about etiquette or sparing her feelings. Yours are obviously hurt already - and I don't blame you a bit. Blessings to you and FI.
  9. My lotions vary (I have 3 - some with Sizzle, some with just bronzer). Definitely use something with a bronzer, and use a bronzing bed as well if your salon has them (mine does for $2-$3 upgrades -- well worth it!)

  11. see my posts in the thread you started about this question.
  12. We didn't eat there, so I can't help you with that. We had wedding activities almost every night and most of us just ate the buffett, which was fabulous.
  13. Wow - you are right! They are fabulous pics! I love the stormy cloud look in the background of so many!
  14. lol - told hubby about the show and he about puked. hehe. But he knows he'll have to watch it with me. :-) I first fell in love with Rob Estes back in the 80's on Silk Stalkings. He hasn't even aged!
  15. Beautiful dress - and beautiful on you! You are going to be a knockoiut bride!!
  16. Yep, that was it word for word. Short and sweet. We loved it that way!
  17. We looked at Puerta Plata. I can't remember which resort but one of them has an absolutely AMAZING gazebo on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Just breathtaking.
  18. We only ate in Marino and Vento. Marino is big, so I wouldn't recommend it for a private reception. Vento would be great. We had a private beach reception and it was awesome. Very secluded. We had 42 guests.
  19. We got engaged 1 week before DH left for Iraq. He was then gone for 14 months -- got back August 207 and we were married April 2008 - so almost 2 years -which was a good timeframe for planning a DW for us!
  20. Our wedding coordinator translated for us at PPC. Or you can have a family member read an English version of it for the translation. We added the Hand Ceremony and had my Uncle come up to read it in English. It's very simple, although I stressed about it at first too. Don't worry! Our WC was great in translating for us!
  21. I think your plan sounds perfect as is. I just went to wedding here in SC where they used tents and the tents were just plain and it was fine. But I think the white paper lanterns and white lights would be a tremendous addition.
  22. My hairdresser has gotten a TON of business from me (when I worked at FOX we worked out a dealso the whole on-air station would go to her and she would get free ads in the news credits). So I get a HUGE discount from her (she is a Redken specialist and chares me like $50 for cut/color and $15 for just a cut.) I usually tip her between $10-$15 dollars. I figure we have helped each other out so I feel that's fair. I hope it is!
  23. Yeah, the whole "going down" part at the start was a little much. I thought it was OK. I am still confused as to who is who and all the connections, lol (but this thread helped clarify some of it!). DH will likely never watch it with me, but who knows, he never liked Army Wives, but said he stayed up to watch it Sunday when I went to bed early. :-)
