  1. Just don't click on the links. Most of their Newbie posts don't make sense ... so if it doesn't sounds like a new member, don't click the link.

I'm trying to think of a good Merlot to recommend ... let me put my thinking cap on. I think I remember that you like lots of California wines, so just make sure they don't say "Burgundy" style and you should be good to go!
  3. Here ya go. The tables and stools in this pic are part of the Gabi Bar... and the Palapas to the right in the picture is the Royal Service beach area during the day - and still open for people to hang out on at night. That palapa area is where the Chill out Chic receptions are ... but not sure about the Aqua. Isn't that near the pool? So it would be directly behind the Gabi bar at the Royal Service pool, I believe. In this last picture, our friends are sitting in the Gabi Bar - and you can see how close and un-private the beach reception behind them is. But, it was still beautiful ... and everyone has different tastes.
  4. I have some pics of another PPC beach reception I can post for you. Let me see if I can find them.
  5. Sweet Foods like Italian tomato sauce, Japanese teriyaki, and honey-mustard glazes make your wine seem drier than it really is so try an off-dry (slightly sweet) wine to balance the flavor (Riesling, Honey Wine, and Raspberry Wine). Your Kim Crawford should be great with your meal. I love that SB! For a red, you need something that is going to be fruit-forward, so a New World style red instead of an Old World style. If there is a fruit forward California red that you like, without super tannins, try that. A Pinot Noir is going to be fruit forward, but you need a medium to full-bodied one. A lighter one will taste like water. Perhaps a Merlot that's not too dry would be nice as well. Hope that helps!

MOGroom I saw a reception with the Aqua package and it was pretty - but it was set-up right next to the Gabi Bar (which is open to all guests) and was not really "private" IMHO. Several of our guests commented how they liked how ours was private as opposed to being able to see everything going on at the reception just down the beach. (Their reception was going on at the same time as ours, but b/c of our set-up, we never would have known). Just something to think about, but then again I'm partial to my own wedding set-up, lol. :-)

  8. I love Bare Escentuals. What I really like is you can get the coverage you need w/o it "looking" like make-up .. but you can also do heavier coverage for "nights out", etc with ease. I also never had any skin issues with it - it was great for my skin - which is usually oily and breaks out pretty easily. I have lots of skin discoloration on my face from too much sun exposure, and it's always worked well to blend and cover.
  9. Our wedding was April 19. We sent out invites in mid-October, asking for RSVP's before Thanksgiving (knowing many people would forget if we spread the RSVP date out until the next year). So then, January 1, I reminded people that Jan 15 was our absolute LATEST RSVP allowed, based on firming up rates and plans with our TA (the date was really FEB 15, but we knew we'd still have stragglers). I would check with your TA (if you are using one) and see when they need absolute FINAL numbers -- and put the RSVP as one month prior to that so you can track down the slackers. But definitely send the invites out sooner rather than later. We did STD's also but only about a dozen people took them to heart and went to our wedding website for info and decided to be pro-active.
  10. God, yes. Sadly. I worked my butt of before the wedding and lost a little over 10 pounds and thought my body looked awesome. Now, nothing fits anymore and I don't even feel good. About 15-pounds since April, although it doesn't look like that much. I broke my foot in July and that was as good an excuse as any to keep staying away from the gym ... but I HAVE to get back in the groove. I want to be in good shape when I get pregnant so it's not extra hard to lose the baby weight after childbirth ... on top of just simply needing to get this extra "married weight" back OFF. DH has gained some weight since DW too ... but only a few pounds.
  11. OMG! The DIY projects have snuck out to BDW Happy Hour? Now THAT is too funny! You guys are a blast!!!
  12. Oh I just LOVE that necklace and might have to get it for myself too! There were lost of ladies looking for something just like that a few months back! I'm going to have to bookmark it! It's PERFECT for you!!!
  13. oops ... just caught your most recent post - where you explained it all. lol. sorry for not reading through before posting!
  14. I don't think it's a huge deal, but I do think it's kinda tacky. Are they staying for a few days after the DW? If so, I'd "suggest" to him that he do it a day after the wedding, instead of before, so that the limelight stays focused where it should - on YOU and DH!!!
  15. Thanks Laybar and MOGroom!!! We hope to get back to the DR soon ... and while we loved PPC and will likely go back there ... we also want to visit other areas and other resorts too (although we likely won't go back to PPR - only b/c we want more nightlife than offered there). Maybe we can do a couple of short stops at several different places. We took a boat ride around Cap Cana and it was amazing!!
  16. Oh, I love the lace dress (strapless - 2nd set of pics posted - I think that's your original dress) with the mantilla veil. It is absolutely gorgeous on you!!!!! WOWZA!!!!!
  17. YIPPEE! Congrats and have the most fabulous time ever! Can't wait to see pics and hear all about it upon your return!!!!
  18. wow Brittney - your pics are fantastic! I am still going through them because there are so many - but I can totally see why you LOVE them! I'd recommend David too, based solely on your pics! And BTW CONGRATS b/c I don't think I've had a chance to tell you that since you've been back!!!!
  19. You are not alone, my friend. I think this has happened to the majority of us in one way or another. It is sssoooo frustrating. Just tell your rude friend that whoever jumps on the bandwagon is welcome at the resort - but not at the wedding and reception. People don't understand the whole planning process AT ALL.
  20. Fun party ... and I know I've said it before, but you are just way too cute!
  21. Great pic! Now what is everyone's BDW name so I can place the faces to the forum name? Wish I were there!
