  1. Hi ladies! I need to bookmark this thread b/c I always forget to come back and check it. But I will try to do better so I can get to know those of you who frequent it who I don't already know!
  2. I agree with Carly, 100%! Start tracking your cycles so you will have a better understanding of your body and know about when you are going to ovulate. I used Fertility Friend and really learned a lot from it. Also, there is a multi-vitamin you can take along with your pre-natals called FertilAid. I used the generic version of it from Target (Origins brand). Good Luck TTC!!!!! It was a long road for DH and I but we finally got our BFP from an IUI.. I hope the journey is a short one for you all!

  4. Hey jackobelle - lol, I just read the rest of the thread after posting and your response and see I am too late, but glad that you've got it worked out and that my advice about the shower was in line with what you decided to do!
  5. My BM's kept dragging their feet over the bachelorette thing, so I planned it myself and invited a few close friends and we went to the beach for the weekend. I had a non-BM plan my friends shower. I don't think there is anything wrong with planning your own bachelorette party (obviously, since I planned my own, lol). Are you close to your parents (distance-wise)? If yes, then perhaps have your Mom contact a BM and ask if they are going to be doing a shower or if she needs to include your friends as well. Having Mom step in should get them off their butts.
  6. LOVE your wedding pics and the review! I am so happy you loved La Barcaza! We almost did that for our reception as well! Punta Cana ROCKS! CONGRATS!!!
  7. Here are a few of our pics of when we first saw each other (before the ceremony). It was exactly what we were hoping for and these are pics we never could have had captured had we not seen each other for this moment before the ceremony. There are more pics than this, but these are those first few moments.
  8. If your BM dress is like a Bari-Jay or another designer that does BM dresses in bulk - be sure to check out other sites. My BM dresses were regularly $180+ but I found then for just over $100 w/ free shipping on one website and they were perfect for all the girls - and they all appreciated me finding them a way to save some money! We ordered the BM dresses from Prom Dresses, 2010 Prom Dresses, Formal Dresses, Wedding Dresses, Short Dresses & Special Occasion Gowns.
  9. It is a public beach and you most likely will have topless ladies and men in Speedos both walking by and stopping to watch the ceremony. They will not block off an area of the beach other than the aisle and where the guest chairs and table for document signing is. We were married in the gazebo at PPC and beachcombers did come up to watch our ceremony - but we had a bit more of a buffer at the gazebo and only have boobs and speedos in pics that our guests took on purpose. I hate to say it but there is no way around it, really.
  10. The Reserve is a tram ride away from the beach. It is a gorgeous area, but if you want to be near the pools, beach and/or restaurants, get a Royal Service room. We were married in the gazebo and stayed in RS Room 1303 and it was a perfect location for the bride and BM's to get ready and walk down the aisle from our room. Hope that helps!
  11. I never signed a contract, which I am glad about. But I did print out and take with me every single email correspondence between myself and the WC at PPC - and that was most helpful in clearing up billing discrepancies when we went over the $$$ the day before the ceremony. We had no issues with our rehearsal dinner/wedding/reception ... and signed nothing until we arrived at the resort and paid for the wedding. We didn't even put down a deposit other than paying for our rooms, which was done through a TA. I hope that helps!
  12. LOVE the first issue! It's a great addition to BDW! THANK YOU to Tammy and the mods for this awesome newsletter!!!
  13. Just popping in to say hi. I guess I don't check in enough b/c I am sssoooo far behind! I have my first appt with my OB tomorrow. Both of my appts with our RE were great and we have beautiful u/s pics from those appts. I don't think we'll get an u/s tomorrow but we will schedule our NT scan.
  14. Thinking about you Kat!!!! Have I not even checked in here since finding out I am preggers?
  15. I love #1 and #2, but keep looking if you aren't in love yet. My Mom had me try on dress styles I was totally against ... but that's what I ended up getting b/c it was PERFECT when I finally found the right one!
  16. Awesome !!! And great pics! Your photog was fab!
  17. Ours was a simple ceremony conducted by the minister in Spanish and translated by the WC (or you can have one of your guests read the translation). We added a hand ceremony and had a guest read that.
  18. PPC is fantastic. My review and tons of pics are in the DR threads and should help answer a lot of your questions. We had an absolutely top-notch beach reception and the best wedding day ever.
  19. We had a beach reception w/ open bar but we had a flat rate for our beach reception for 3 hours (I think). We didn't pay for any additional hours. After the reception time (they gave us about 30 minutes extra for no charge) we all went to the Lobby Bar and partied it up there all night long. That was FUN and there was no extra charge, of course, at the Lobby Bar. We spent almost every night there and it was a hoot to be there after our reception b/c everyone kept the party rolling and other resort guests were fun to be around.
  20. Which Paradisus resort have you priced? Our PPC beach reception was very reasonable and fantastic.
  21. Great reviews Dina! I am anxious to hear about your thoughts on the Paradisus resorts next, as that is where we were married (PPC) and honeymooned(PPR). I am interested in comparing how our thoughts on those resorts match up b/c we are trying to decide where to go next time in Punta Cana and I love your reviews and how you are breaking everything down for us!
  22. Heather - Everything looks AMAZING! I love all of your attention to detail and your colors are so amazingly classy. I simply can't wait to see pics from the big day! It is ALMOST HERE!!!!!
  23. That's great that he will be in your hometown! Especially since you love your hometown! I've heard Halifax is great!
  24. HI ladies! Just checking in. DH find out for sure in 2 more weeks if his deployment is getting pushed up from 8/2010 to 1/2010. Ugh. I hope not. Anyone else have a DH facing earlier deployments?
