  1. Congrats Andres (er, I mean Groomzilla, haha). Congrats on your engagement and being able to wed in your home country. Our DR wedding was absolutely spectacular - and I am sure yours will be too!!! This forum will help you along the way!
  2. Welcome Paul. I know you guys are down to the wire and stressed but you couldn't have picked a better place to sort things out and get your DW back on track! Good Luck!
  3. Wow - that was obviously a LOT of work. And they turned out great! Your guests are going to love them!!
  4. That dress is GORGEOUS - but try not to get your hopes up too high. I only say this b/c I had my dress picked out to a tee - but when I tried it on, it looked HORRIBLE on my body style so I ended up with a dress that I loved even more - b/c it looked great on ME - and was NOTHING like what I envisioned wearing. But, it will likely look smashing on you - can't wait to see pics, sista!
  5. Here is a good site that explains the UK version of this ... Park Home Living :: Caravan Sitefinder ... but I still think it resembles the gypsy living based on the fact that the work they do is seasonal and that they pave driveways.
  6. Sounds (and looks) like they are one of those gypsy families that do a lot of inter-family breeding and marrying. Anyone ever seen the gypsy area in Augusta, SC/GA? It's scary.
  7. oops, just read your last post to see you've already got it all figured out! Yay!!
  8. i say either a longer, taller vase ... or a wider vase in the same height as your original vase.
  9. lol, I went to see who was nominated and what a surprise! Guess I've fallen behind on checking a lot of posts since my Mac is in the shop. Using this mini-laptop from work is quite a chore. Anyway, good luck ladies!
  10. my favorite PJ's: comfy sweats
  11. Honestly, I wouldn't spend the money on insulated travel mugs. We did, and I wish we had just gotten tumblers instead (half the cost and just as good). But, that being said, many of our guests spent a lot of time in the pool, so their drinks stayed cold alot easier than they would have on the beach. DH and I used our mugs, but several guests didn't for whatever reason. So, I'd opt for simple tumblers that you can have your logo on for less money.
  12. Beautiful! Just beautiful! You know I've always adored your dress - it's stunning! And what a gorgeous reception! WOW! Can't wait to see more!!!!
  13. We had 40 guests at our Paradisus wedding, and all of our guests were excdeptionally pleased with the food. Even the buffett was really good, IMHO, but we are NOT picky, 5-star restaurant eaters. We don't care much for chain food - and usually go to independent restaurants when at home ... and have no complaints about the food (except the burgers at the grill by the beach were undercooked). The people with us were all different types of travelers, some were world travelers who love luxury and top-notch food, others had never been at an AI before. Everyone wants to return. Our rehearsal dinner and reception food were fabulous - absolutely no complaints from us or any guests. It is totally a subjective thing. We could not be happier or more content with our decision to marry at PPC. Also, we honeymooned at PPR and I actually preferred the food at PPC (so did hubby) ... especially the buffett was better at PPC to us ... but again, it's subjective (we loved tha Pasta Station at PPC that wasn't available at PPR). But all of the a la carte restaurants were fabulous at both resorts -- at least they were to us. We really couldn't see why people would complain about the food at either resort..
  14. Paradisus Palma Real - Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Very luxurious and romantic resort - with a great off-resort shopping spot nearby to get some great deals and the most fabulous restaurant just off-resort. Total AAA+++ for us!
  15. Yes, they were very time consuming - not so much stressful as time consuming for me. I got very little help from my BM's ... but DH really stepped up and helped a lot. The sense of accomplishment is fabulous once you are done, though, and it's so cool to be able to say you did it yourself. If you are not on a tight timeframe/deadline, then I say start early and GO FOR IT! You will love the end result. We did about 220, 5 pages each plus the envelope. Talk about tedious! But everyone LOVED them!

My Mac is in the iStore shop right now, though, b/c part of my screen has gone blank (hopefully covered under my warranty since it's a new Mac!).
  17. Great, great, great pics! LOVE the work Christy did with your day-after and TTD shots! Amazing!!!!!
  18. lol, it's definitely great to be able to have family and friends help tote all your stuff down. Anything we had others take, we asked them to check - and we all checked in together (those of us leaving from the same airport on same day) so I could make sure everything went as planned. :-) PS - luckily those cake knife sets don't have sharp knives in them!!!

  20. Love these pics, Yari! And the one under Favorites of the kids holding each other faces is too cute! Everything looked amazing! What fun! And I am jealous of your zip lining!!! But seriously - what a beautiful day for you !!!!
  21. But iPhoto doesn't let you use pics as the page background, does it? If so, I am not seeing how to do that...
