lol - I'm home finishing up my work day and all this wine talk has convinced me to pop open a bottle of wine. hhmmm ... bubbly, white, or red this afternoon so many choices....
-
oops - sorry Carly, I shoulda double checked, lol. I want to come to your wine party!!!! ;-)
-
Hey Jac, Yep, it's my job, lol. ;-) Can't beat a job where you get to drink on the clock - hehe. It's a little harder to make a solid recommendation when we are just talking about wine online, but I am pretty certain you will like my recommendations. Oh, and you mentioned Australian wines - are you talking about whites or reds? Because Australia is known if their Shiraz - heavier red with dpicy undertones - oftentimes dry and highly tannic (gives you that bite in the back of your mouth on your first stip). But with whites, the Australian Rieslings can be either sweet or dry - so if there are any particular wines (by name) that you KNOW you like, let me know and I can make some parallel recommendations.
-
The beaujolais is a lighter red also - similar to a pinot noir. When you say 'blush' you are usually either referring to a white zinfandel or to a rose. Rose's are typically red grapes that have been pressed, which helps to remove some of the harsher tannins. Also, you would probably like a torrontes, which is a white grape from Argentina - just based on you saying that you typically prefer sweeter style wines.
-
Since Turkey Day is right around the corner as well, a Beaujolais Nouveaus is also fantastic. Lighter style, fruit forward and you should be able to find them easily since they are the perfect pair with turkey!
-
You should try a Pinot Noir. Rose's are also good, but it can be tough to find good ones. You might like Little Black Dress Syrah Rose. But honestly, a Pinot Noir is your best bet for a lighter style red w/o the dryness of the heavier reds. Pinots I recommend include: La Crema Toasted Head Barrel Reserve (make sure it says Barrel Reserve on the bottle neck) Cono Sur

Discountmugs.com -- Travel Mug Redo

April, I don't think yours looks too bad - but trust me I totally understand your frustration. They really should have someone in the review process contact customers if there is an obvious issue with sizing. And it is tough to figure out the actual dimensions the way they put the information on their website (well, it was when I ordered mine, but perhaps they've updated it since then). You will still be good to go with your mugs - but pay attention to see if the imprint comes off if you use them in the pool. My initial order was fine, but all the printin came off in the pool water with the mugs they redid for me. -
Oh that story is too cute - and I love your recruited witnesses - I know they will be talking about that for years to come! Your JOP looked young! How much fun! It's so great that you got all those pics too!!! A friend of ours who is a Notary signed our legal paperwork at a friends house just a few days before we left for our DW - on the anniversary of our 1st date ... and we had 2 friends and a neighbors poodle serve as witnesses.

I haven't gotten through them all yet - but the first page is amazing - you look FANTASTIC in your dress and the dress itself is amazing! Love the BM dresses too. Now, off to see the rest! -
Yay - so glad you are happy with it now - despite the hefty price tag. Now you need to change your Avatar b/c your new 'do changes your look totally! Looks great, sista!

Welcome from one Punta Cana bride to another! We had about 40 guests come to our DW ... but we also legally married before we went. I think your plan is a good one in order to save yourselves money and travel expenses for others. Plenty of others have gone this same route! Happy planning and let me know if you need any help!!!

Also, lookinto PhotoSouvenir. Several BDW brides have used them in Punta Cana and all loved their pictures, and the prices. I think their prices might be more reasonable than the resort photogs ... but you'll have to compare quotes to be sure. -

"bridesmaids being picky"

When they are being difficult - I think it's worked out great for many gals to just pick a color and let them pick their own dress. David's has a large selection of styles if you want EXACTLY the same color ... or you can let them pick their own and have different shades of the same color -which looks great too! My BM's were all different sizes, (from a size 0 to plus sized) and they all loved the dress we chose. Bari Jay #253 for the BM's and #249 for the MOH. They have your color too! -
Trash the Dress question
foxytv replied to 2bebridejamaica's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I bought a second dress off eBay for $90 which I wore for my TTD. I wanted to wear my actual dress at our AHR - so I got a second dress. Now, I'm having the top part of my real wedding dress make in to a bustier that I can wear again and the bottom part will be made into a christening gown when we have children. -
Very fun! Great costumes!!!

Bummer! You KNOW I've been stalking the boards waiting for this post!!! ;-) Don't worry - the same thing happened to me when my photog first posted them. -
I think the manager did a great job ... and yes, the bangs are definitely shorter, but they don't look bad at all. I think it makes you look young and innocent (that's a compliment - I wish I could look like that again!~). Sounds like the manager has had problems with your styllist in the past and perhaps needs to take some corrective action...

Father of Bride/Groom attire

I think its a great shirt for Dad. Are you having any blue accents with your dress or flowers? If so, I think it will complement it even more, but regardless, I think that is a perfect, understated, classy shirt for your Dad to wear while arm in arm with you down the aisle! -
Oh yay! I could finally get this page to open! Danielle - your pics are GREAT and it brings back SUCH memories of our PPR honeymoon! Your wedding ceremony looked fabulous and isn't that just the most PERFECT palm tree in the sand? Oh I can't wait to see MORE MORE MORE!!!
