  1. FINALLY ordered one copy of our album for DH's parents as part of their Christmas gift. My Mac has a cracked screen so it took forever to figure out how to upload the book to the online order site. But, it's done. Hopefully it will arrive before we leave for their house on Christmas Eve. It was $152 for the 84-page book and expedited shipping from the UK. We only ordered one copy to ensure we like the quality (we aren't going to visit my folks until mid-January for a late Christmas, so as long as we love it, we'll order theirs). Anyway - just wanted to update with the cost - it seemed kind of high ... but again, we'll wait to see the quality of the book. I hope the shipping is FAST!!!
  2. Darn - sorry I missed this Carly - and I even knew it was coming up! Happy (belated) birthday!
  3. I just finished our decorating last night ... but I thought we still had our big Christmas tree, but turns out I gave it to Goodwill ... so I just used our small tree and decorated around the house more instead. Since our house is on the market I think it looks nice and festive without going overboard to allow people to envision their own holiday decorations. I'll post pics after the sun comes up and I can take some good ones. ;-) Everyone's decorations looks great!
  4. Just BEAUTIFUL!!!! Everything was obviously AMAZING!!! Your daughter is ssoo beautiful! Your dress was prefect and your hair turned out great. You are GLOWING!
  5. I'm tryin to find an AFFORDABLE leather coat for Tom. I'm headed to Wilsons Leather at the outlets soon to see what the prices look like! But we're keeping it pretty low-key b/c if our house sells, we're going to have to spend a lot of money on the move.
  6. I'll repost mine tonight - but mine is an Army garter. Tom LOVED it! Does Amos have an obsession with a sports team or pasttime?
  7. You could always do the thin starfish with some orange ribbon and hotglue it to a pin for him (or all the GM) to wear. I know several ladies did something similar to that for their guys and it looked GREAT!
  8. They look GREAT! How much did they cost you and how many did you get? My sister lives in ATL and I am just up the road in Greenville, SC. We should get together!!
  9. Thanks for sharing! You look beautiful and your ceremony looked great!
  10. Great review. I don't know if I would have given Lissette even a C based on all those issues, but I'm glad you were able to roll with the punches! And I would have a hit on that darn DJ - WTF? You still don't know what happened?
  11. Jessy - so glad to finally read your review! I'm so glad EdenH lived up to your expectations. It wasn't quite open 100% when we were in the DR for our wedding, but it looked phenomenal! Sounds like your WC's were really on the ball and I love that the restaurants catered to the big groups!!! PS - and LOVE your pics and all your pre-planning - it obviously REALLY paid off!!!
  12. Just saw this thread, Shelley and LOVE the idea! I hope my sis finds a man soon - I have so many DIY projects I want to do for her!!! :-)
  13. Yay! Glad to se your review made it up! So glad you had a great time and can't wait to see more pics!!! CONGRATS!!!
  14. I LOVE them! You look amazing and her work is obviously fantastic! I love all your costume changes and you just look too sexy, sista! wowza!!! Good luck picking from 300!!!
  15. Tammy & Sarah - they are GREAT!!! And Sarah - your backyard w/ all the trees remind me of the backyard where I grew up! Lots of trees and snow in the wintertime!
  16. Whatever you prefer is fine on this one. My BM's bought their own dresses and I had some nice BM gifts for them. We bought the GM shirts and Reef Dram sandals w/ the flask in them as their gift.
  17. I guess you are on the plane now! I am so jealous! Congrats and have the time of your lives!!!
  18. You shouldn't have any worries. Pick a bar to meet at and those who want to can meet and mingle there before the dinner - and those who don't can do their own thing. I'd wait til you get there to get a vibe for the bars ans which one will be the most fun and in good proximity to the dinner - and just let guests know after ther ceremony what the plan is. Then, they can decide for themselves. We had more time between the ceremony and reception than we had planned so we did this spur of the moment and it worked out fine.
  19. I am not familiar with the policies at Dreams, but have you checked their websites or contacted the WC there?

  21. They will have Mamajuana at every single bar throughout the resort. We drank it every day. Be careful about asking your WC to set this up ahead of time, as it could mean you are charged for it. You can always just send someone to the bar and ask for XX numbers of Mamajuana shots. We loved it - it's a little harsh - but oh, so Dominican - they call it Dominican Viagra and all the bartenders would give us sneaky looks when we would ask for it, lol. We brought some home too (smuggled in the herbs) and now make our own - and found a liquor store locally that sells Brugal!

You can gain a better appreciation for wine by continuously learning and trying new wines, but ultimately - if you like it, then it's good. :-)
  23. Oh yeah, there are some great prices at Costco. They buy in such bulk that they get just phenomenal prices on their wine. I had to go pick some up at Costco for a customer last week and they are selling it to consumers basically at cost.
  24. The Piper Sonoma is pretty good. ;-) I am a sucker for Piper Heidsick (Sonoma's big brother) but it's $18 for a friggin' SPLIT at the wine bar I go to ... so I only splurge occasionally. It's not one that I sell, so I can't buy that one at cost. If you can find Toso Brut - it's from Argentina and is AMAZING - and a steal of a deal. Veuve de Vernay is pretty good too, as is Rotari Brut - for inexpensive bubblies.
