There are some boutique resorts in the DR that are not AI. There are at least 2 in Punta Cana, although the namesescape me right now, and many in Cabarete, Puerta Plata, etc. If you Google search - they will all show up.

Great review - although a bummer about your room. Would you go back or would you return to Dreams as a first choice?

OMG OMG!! Your wedding pics are AMAZING and I am ssssoooo jealous of your TTD pics!!! We LOVED Jellyfish and Steve's Corner Bar and man, I wish we had some TTD pics at Steve's! Everything was obviously amazing! We ate at Jellyfish 2x during our honeymoon (at Palma Real) and went to Steve's 3x!!! We never found an English speaking taxi driver from NY, though! WOW is all I can say!!!

I did HoneymoonWishes.com as well and it worked great for us. We did $10/$15/$20 increments for different excursions, moonlight meals, etc so if someone wanted to spend $50, they could do 5 $10 increments of something. Does that make sense? Then, for friends who didn't have much money to buy gifts, they could just do something for $20, etc. We got lots of gifts that we re for several increments of a gift (like if we said an excursion was $150 - we gave $20 increment options and people would buy 3 of them). Make sense? It worked great for us!

Not familiar with it but have heard it's supposed to be spectacular. Hope you get some great feedback to quell our curiousity!!!

I got married at Paradisus in Punta Cana ... and did not use the resorts photog or flowers - but we did have the resort cake and it was PHENOMENAL!!! No complaints about how things turned out for us. It was picture perfect.

Well my flowers aren't real ... so they are now centerpieces in different rooms in the house. If they are real, you can dry them and still use them as wall decor or put them in a shadowbox if you can get them home with you.

Oh Sylvia that SUCKS. You hear the stories about bed bugs, and hope it never is a bed you'll be sleeping in. YUK! Crazy that they won't even look into your complaint. You should resend and say you are the guest. It's their way of not having to compensate for unacceptable conditions.

ssssoooo .... what's the latest? Did you get the house?? Our house is on the market and we've had LOTS of traffic so we are crossing fingers for an offer on our house too. I hope we can put a contract on a new home REAL soon! Do you have a link to the home you've bid on? I love to look at houses!!! How is the market up the interstate in CLT? We are lucky b/c of the location we are in here in downtown Greenville b/c houses are still selling (many for OVER asking price) but it just depends on the neighborhood. BEST OF LUCK!!!

There are a TON of sites online to order from. We got ours from Mugs, Coffee Mugs, Shot Glasses, Wine Glasses, Beer Mugs, Champagne Glasses, Wedding Favors, Sports Bottles, Promotional Pens at Discountmugs.com ... but can't say I was 100% satisfied. Search this forum too, b/c so many girls got mugs from different places ... you are sure to find some recommended sites.

We did not. We had one WC for planning and for our meeting once at the resort - but the day of the wedding it was a different WC altogether. We did leave small gifts for our WC's and our butlers, but that was it. Oh, and I gave our WC at the reception our CD's with our music on them (she loved that I gave those to her - not sure if she liked them for herself or to help with music selections for future brides though). We also gave her the parasols we used for pics (in perfect condition) and 2 suitcases that we didn't want to take back with us. I'm hoping those things were useful for the resort to use for future weddings, but who knows. She gladly took all of it. But monetarily, we did not tip anything additional to the WC.

Oh, I want to - but I KNOW how bad I am about remembering to post pics and weigh in. I'd likely be DQ'ed in the first 3 weeks, lol. But I'm going to sign up if I get a scale for Christmas - the one we have is ssssooooo old you all would laugh. It probably doesn't even work. Who knows, it's been under the bed for ages, lol.

Oh geez - that really SUCKS. My dog (since passed away) hated being in her crate and would tear her way out of it and then tear up the house. I'm glad the damage is all replaceable ... but that does suck about your bouquet (I bet he knew it was yours , lol). Luckily - you have time to get everything back in line! Poor doggie - I bet he feels bad about it. ;-)
