  1. Yeah, no kidding. I had high hopes for a realistically budgeted wedding. No dice. We expected 40 people tops and already have 47 booked. Excited to have so many people coming ... but now the budget is TOTALLY out of whack. We'll figure it out somehow though!

  3. That dress is kickin'! I love it! Beautiful detail and no doubt beautiful on you! Your luck ROCKS! Pass on the lucky charms!!!

Was having trouble finding the "free" link -- but I got it! THANKS!

But if you can't find it in Canada, let us know, you can always order and have it shipped to one of us and we will forward it on to you!

Wedding location is the only decision made (garden area) thus far (and that is subject to change once I get there if we see an even more beautiful spot!). Well, I do know about flowers and photog. But as far as resort decisions, I don't know how to decide yet or how soon I need to. How long have you been planning? So excited for you! Can't wait to hear back about everything from a fellow DR bride!!!
  7. Good Luck! Definitely keep us posted! We are all rooting for you!!!

Because to us, that is all that it is ... paperwork. I'm also having a Wedding/Marriage Certificate made to have on hand at out DW so that our witnesses sign it and everything. It won't be our 'legal' certificate ... but it will be our 'real' certificate.

  12. I still think you within your rights to have your wedding day your way, as long as FI and you both realize some people are going to continue to be bent out of shape. Are you having an AHR? One thing others who want an adults-only wedding might want to consider from the start is an adults-only resort. That way, saying "no" to kids is easy. :-)

I think I replied on the "Show your dress" thread, but I LOVE your dress!!! Absolutely stunning!!
  14. We are not telling anyone .. although I've discussed it with my Mom and BF. Tom says we'll just do it and not say a word -- but Mom really wants to be at the "legal" cermeony. However, to us, it's the DW that is the "real" wedding. We are just going to a JOP or maybe a quick trip to Vegas. Closer to that time, there's a chance we might have to tell the parents ... but I don't think they can keep their mouths shut. lol.
  15. That's great news! Hopefully it will be a breeze for you. Definitely keep us posted!!
  16. Just purchased my shoes (3 different ones ... he he) on smartbargains.com and came across these that would look great with a white wedding dress (mine is ivory). They are called "Jessica Simpson Bella Eyelet Platform Slide Wedge" and are $39.99 ... but you also get 12% off if you are a first-time buyer. Just thought they might be a good option for some of you ladies.
  17. Oohhh... I know nothing about Cabo -- but LOVE peonies! Good call! Sorry I'm no help. :-)

  19. I planned on a 'no kids' wedding, just because I knew my brothers kids and my FSIL's kids wouldn't be coming. But, I would have welcomed kids. Now, my brother has decided they are bringing both boys (so now I have 2 ring bearers!! ya!) and several others have reserved rooms with kids. So, I'm glad I didn't let it be known I was thinking no kids. Have you thought about allowing kids at the ceremony ... but not the reception? Would that be an option for you? Then, people who don't want to leave their kids with the hotel babysitter could still witness you exchange vows, and then skip the reception if they so choose. Just a thought...
  20. Are you telling your guests that you are already married? I've thought about the Vegas option as well, but we aren't telling our guests that the Symbolic Ceremony isn't the legal one. Our wedding is in April so if we could swing a trip to Vegas in early April, I would totally do it .. but not much earlier than that. So, for me, November to May would be wwaayy too long to keep it a secret. :-) But, if your guests will know that you've already tied the knot, then why not?

Apparently I AM going to fall and end up in a cast, and they can't understand the mentallity of heel wearing women in the Carribbean,( slippery floors and all). Kelly~ Ha ha... I need to find that link on the other forum to see what they were yelling at you for. :-) Did they really say everyone wears Crocs? I don't like the Crocs, (yes I knew **hoped** you were joking!!) but also, can't wear them because I need a bit of a platform on my show to get the right height for my dress (the money I save on that alteration I'm spending on these 3 pairs of shoes ... haha). I am going to get a pair of wedge/platform flip flops for the reception (the wedding will be in a garden and the reception either on the beach of La Barcaza boat).

So much for the 'shoes' part of the wedding budget...
