I still loved the dress and how it looked, but thought it felt odd... There was another taffeta that you could get it in, empress or something like that, but I wasn't able to see that fabric in person and I believe it was more expensive. There is a sheen to the dress, but maybe a photographer can chime in... I can see the sheen in these dresses, but I think its absolutely beautiful. I would it, for sure. I especially love the cut/style. Wowza!!!
  3. I have friends who have gotten them and love them (even those who aren't techies). I would love to have one. I have so many pics I never printed out ... so it would be a great way to see them.

  7. I had it almost 5 years ago now ... went from almost legally blind w/o glasses to 20/15 after the surgery --- and my eyes are still that good. However, driving at night means more halos for me now ... and if it's raining -- forget about it. I also get eye strain from lots of time in front of the computer (this darn forum isn't helping!!!) ... but other than those small things ... I am ssssooo glad I had it done and can't imagine still wearing contacts/glasses.

  9. How about a digital picture frame with photos of the two of you, as well as family/friends, anything meaningful to you both -- from over the years. Then, she will be able to add more photos to it as the years go by ... and can have it on her desk at work or somewhere at home where it plays the slideshow continuously. I think those digital photo frames are the bomb!!!
  10. mmm... I LOVE carrot cake with cream cheese icing ... but I think it's relatively basic at the resort ... so it will be vanilla with vanilla icing. I've heard the cakes at our resort are very good though.
  11. That's great to hear! We're still doing the legal paperwork in the US since the DR is wwaayy crazier these days for legal docs than Mexico. Bummer, wishing we didn't have to do the paperwork here .... but c'est la vie. Don't want to deal with all the DR paperwork hassle.
  12. Very cute! Don't look like $1 bags at all, that's for sure!
  13. Good Luck! Keep us posted! I vote for #1. I'm not a fan of #2 at all, but that's just my style preference. I am sure you will be stunning in whatever you decide!!!
  14. I know I said HI on another thread ... but wanted to officially welcome you as well! Hope the planning process is going well!

My birthday is tomorrow & I told my FI I want a snorkel set with a veil attached. Happy Birthday!!! And I definitely want to see sme pics of the snorkel set with a veil if he gets it for you!!!

  19. I am finding so many great ones as I download ... so I will have to narrow down the field and then give him some options ... although knowing Tom, he will say "I don't care, whatever you want." But I'm not taking that for an answer when it comes to "our song."

  23. I've never heard of those ... but I do like it!!! Tom has a strong Irish background, and I am part Irish too ... so the Gaelic ones will be good for me to suggest to him. Thanks for sharing and let us know what you decide on!!!
  24. I'm staying at the Hyatt in Boston .. and a bunch of the ladies at this wine convention have been oohing and aahing over these cool decorations in the banquet hall area bathrooms. I've taken a picture on my cell phone so will try to upload. If I can find this type of flower ... I'm SSOO going to do this. It's a big Gerber Daisy, silk, with a long stem that kind of coils around. Then, there are tall, wide round plastic vases with rocks in the bottom. the vase is filled up with water and the flower(s) are placed in them, totally submerged. It looks like the flower is growing up from the rocks, underwater. Don't know if that's a good description for your minds eye ... but hopefully I can get a pic from my cell phone to here... I've just never seen silk flowers with long coiled stems like that. Guess it's another thing to search for at Michaels and Garden Ridge!! It looks very classy and expensive ... but is obviously easy and inexpensive for us DIY'ers.
