  1. I love your dress -- and it is exceptionally beautiful on you!!!! WOW!!!!! Hot Mama!!! The dragonfly pin is an awesome ersonal touch that looks perfect. (How'd you get the nickname gragonfly -- b/c of your tattoo ... or is the name why you got the tattoo?) PS ... My dress is ivory with champagne trim ... so if you put that starfish into circulation ... I'd love to use the champagne starfish!!
  2. What a wonderful love and life story. We have to take the good with the bad and you, Everton adn your families have already shown where strength and commitment can take you. No doubt the bonds you've formed will only grow stronger over time. Congratulations on finding your "one true love."

I thought we could just return it to target in TX & buy it again in NC. Sounds like that won't work. Maybe we'll just register for little stuff at target. I'm sure its posted somewhere else ... but I can't find it .... where in NC are you?
  4. Just got this email too. Good stuff. Don't agree with everything (about saving money hehe) but still, good info! :-)

  6. Hi! And give me some help. I registered with WordPress but not sure how to post, etc... (Same username as this)

Plus I will be doing my own hair. oooo.... that sounds so pretty!!! If my hair was straight (or would stay straight) i would try it ... but there are too many layers and it would be sticking out. hehe.
  8. Count me in!!! I've been putting off going to the YMCA to join since my gym shut down with no warning. aarrgghh!!! So, I'm going to go join tonight ... and workout Friday, Saturday, Sunday this week. MAKE ME DO IT!!! I work my 2nd job Wed and Thurs this week, so those nights are out. My usual schedule will be Sun-Mon-Th-Fri-Sat (but probably only 4 of those 5 days...). Thanks for the accountability ... I NEED IT!!!!

I'll be saving these to see which I think will work better that day (until I find more then I'll have to weed through them all ... but these are the best I've seen so far!!!) My hair is curly ...although I straighten it daily. At the beach it curls up. Ugh. So we'll see. I imagne I'll wear it up somehow.
  11. My FI is wearing his military dress blues and the GM are wearing khaki Dockers or Old Navy pants with matching shirts. Tom will have khaki pants/shorts and a coordinating shirt (different color/same pattern as GM) to change into for the reception.

  14. I am going to have to have my dress steamed by the resort once we rrive anyway ... so I guess it's not such a big deal if it has to go in an overhead bin. But, I've only heard good things from other former bride friends who say they were treated like Queens and moved to First Class (space available, etc. We are likely flying US Airways out of Charlotte (I'd rather drive an hour for a non-stop flight than risk having ANY luggage get lost) ... since we are bringing so much with us (flowers, centerpieces, OOT bags, etc). Thanks for this thread!!!
  15. Wow ... Glad to know all this. I didn't register at Target, but had thought about it. Boo on them for a crap return policy!!!

  17. I like the first one -- if it was in a single color. I think the halter style is very flattering on you!!
  18. Was talking to my Mom about having our own things added to the ceremony .... and she had never heard of the Hand Ceremony either. I like the fact that it's unique and will be something new for many guests to observe. Plus, I love the meaning of the ceremony .... but will likely switch up some of the wording to personalize it a little more.
  19. Thanks for posting! Not sure yet if we'll have all the guys already at the altar or if they'll escort the BM's. But it's nice to know we can switch things up and it doesn't need to be so set.
  20. thanks for the review! I'm ready to start planning more trips for us for after the wedding. hehe. so many cool places I want to go now that I've learned about them all on here!!!
  21. Good thread. My ceremony is at 3pm. I'm planning for the ceremony to be over by 3:30pm ... so I'm thinking that we'll do cocktails til 4:30-5 while we're getting pics taken. Dinner at 5. I guess we'll go til 6:30 with dinner/cake toasts and then start the dancing til 9pm. At 9 ... that will be early enough for the older guests to turn in and the younger guests to hit the disco/casino. But, we've also thought about just doing appetizers as well since its so costly for a full dinner or buffett for so many guests at our AI. Anyone not doing a full dinner?

If you wear them for the reception, just remember how much shorter it will make your dress if your dress is altered for a barefoot beach wedding...

I am short and have to have it altered and I didn't want to take it to a bridal store because I think they charge alot. So I took it to the cleaners who also does alterations and they said they wanted to charge me $100!! Is this normal? I realize that it has 5 layers of lining underneath...but yikes! I think I paid like $20-$30 a couple years ago to have another bridesmaid dress altered and it was just one layer or two straight across and this one is wavy. I just want to find out if I should look around or just have them do it.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this BM dress!!!! Who makes it? You are very lucky that you can wear it for 2 weddings. I think that sounds about right for the alterations.
