  1. Thanks Sarah! Waiting for it to download so I can watch!
  2. I am setting aside a certain amount of money per person and then personalizing each bag with similar things. Each BM has a definite unique personality and style, so I don't want to give things one may love but I know another won't care much for. Since they are spending so much money to come to the wedding ... I've decided to put a lot of extra thought into each BM gift. But each will likely get a similar (just different in color) monogrammed beach bag for all their goodies.

Oh, I never got to see that on Youtube. Can we get a link?

We talked about this on some other threads a while back ... let me see if I can find them and I'll link to them for you. Some people are printing them, others are hand writing them. I think it's totally up to you, though.

You don't have a pic of that, do you? I will definitely put sand in the bottom ... and just need to decide how to add the candle. Did they leave a hole and put it down in the shells a bit? I want to definitely find plastic jars/vases though (and I like that square look) so that nothing breaks in the transition from US to DR.
  8. Hi Ladies! I picked up three different size calligraphy pens this weekend. a 2.0, 3.5 and 5.0. So, I've been working with all 3 and definitely go with the smaller point if you plan on doing any of this yourself. The 2.0 pen is working great and allows for a lot more individuality in the writing. The larger tips make it more difficult (at least for me, at this early stage in the game). I'm going to keep practicing, but already like the way the 2.0 tip works with just my regular handwriting. Jazzes it up and makes it look more formal for the invitations.
  9. OOoohhh! Thanks for the website. I didn't know. And I will be bringing shells with me too. From what I understand, the sandy beaches in the DR are pretty much shell-free.
  10. We're gettin married in the DR in April 2008 and have our rates (based on 3 nights) for 1-2 or 3 people in a room. But we went through a TA and another girl I've spoken with went hrough the resort for the same month and has totally different (higher) rates. So ... it really depends. A TA can give you a good gauge of resorts within your price range once you at least narrow down your search to a particular area.
  11. Totally cute! That WOULD be easy for a DIY if you can find (or even MAKE)the plain designs and add the bling.
  12. Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I have one that I made up, but it's pretty basic, so I'm going to check this out and most likely put it to good use!

  14. That looks like a white starfish to me, with the rhinestones or crystals attached. I just ordered a bunch of those white ones on eBay.
  15. That looks to me like the starfish you can buy in bulk and hotglue some of the bling to it yourself. I KNOW you could do it, Miss DIY!!!

Looks fine from the front but the back view on the website is -- well, not pretty to me. :-)
  17. Yes, I LOVE Burlington ... and always spend WWAAYY too much money when I am there! Keep posting pics -- we want to see what else ya got!

  19. I didn't see anything about this on here ... but what a great option for cost-conscious brides ... as well as affordable bridal party options. Target : Women : Bridal (I think I just found my el-cheapo TTD on here!!!
  20. This is ssoo simple ... and completely affordable and easy to assemble, especially if you find some clear plastic vases or jars to place the shells in. Some other great ideas here as well... Beach Wedding Centerpiece - LoveToKnow Weddings
  21. I had the same problem (just not that creatively inclined for some things). I ended up getting mine done by Aylee Designs - wedding stationeries from invitations and save-the-dates to programs and favor tags and Creative Montage... For Today's Sophisticated Bride. I LOVE all the ones by Aylee.
  22. How exciting! I've never been to Italy ... so can't offer any insight ... but can't wait to hear all about it!!!!
  23. I have 2 young ringbearers as well (3 and 5). Not sure of what I will get them either. I am making "Kiddie" OOT bags for all of the kids who are attending (about 5-6) ... but I haven't gotten any good ias for actual ringbearer gifts yet. I did have them go out on the beach while they were at my Mom and Dad's house and gather some shells ... as well as look for one to use for the rings ... so they are definitely feeling like they are a part of things ... so I need to figure out a special gift for each! Looking forward to ideas!
