  1. This might have already be answered ... but where are you ordering the water bottle labels from? Since we're at an AI, I will just take the labels and apply once there. Rather than putting the water bottles in the OOT bags, I'm going to 'collect' water over the first few days, put on the labels, and have them available at the ceremony and reception in a big tub.
  2. I would definitely contact a TA. We had to put down minimal deposits, as TA's can negotiate better rates and better terms. The TA can secure group rates if your guests book within a certain timeframe, with a per guest or per room minimal deposit. We have locked in our rates for future bookings based on the number of initial rooms reserved ... and have 2 free rooms.

Here are a few links... 1000 Silk Rose Petals Double Pink - Wedding Rose Petals Silk Rose Petals from Petal Garden Silk Rose Petals Discount Prices There are also freeze dried rose petals, which would be eco-friendly, but I don't know anything about these (will they crunch when you walk on them .. maybe a stupid question but I truly don't know...)
  4. Are you having any family/friends do any of the readings during your ceremony? Since our ceremony will be in Spanish, I'm thinking about having a family member read the Hand Ceremony in English (and not have the officiant read it at all) and have another family member read a verse in English only. That way, the only Spanish part of the ceremony will be the exchange of vows with the WC translating. Any thoughts on this? I know we can do whatever we want (especially since it's a Symbolic ceremony) but just curious on your thoughts ... what future brides plan to do and what the new Mrs.' did.
  5. I plan to use the silk rose petals, but I need to check with the resort to make sure its ok, since they are eco-friendly and I don't ant to have to be the one bothered to clean them up afterwards.
  6. Yea!! May your travels be safe and your love everlasting.

There are defeinitely some crazy ones. But even if Tom and I had a funny saying, I might not use it for the wedding band. I'd ratehr have something classic that would stand the test of time. What do you think? Classic or funny?
  8. How about something like this for the REALLY curly haired girls? This is pretty!!
  9. Wow. That is scary ... and amazing. I truly hope the rbide adn groom have a good sense of humor and did take it in stride. It could make for the BEST wedding memories, or the worst. I can not imagine...
  10. Well, things are definitely not good ... but we are still all over that other thread ... and reasy to help in any way we can. Things have a way of working out ... so I am trying to stay positive for you both, Nadine and Trista, and any other BDW gals who could be facing similar problems in the weeks ahead...
  11. I have very curly hair that loves to frizz ... but I straighten it daily. At the beach, I have to wear it curly since it won't stay straight. For the wedding ... I plan to wear it up. My hairdresser here always does a phenomenal job pinning up the curls ... so I'm going to take some pics with me and hope for the best. I'm going to do the trial run beforehand to ensure the hairdresser and I are on the same page (wish my girl could go with me ... then I know my hair would rock!). Here's a pic of it up, but I don't have bangs anymore. You can't really tell about the pinned up curls ... but hopefully it gives you an idea (The back looks a bit similar to Ann's ... but my hairdresser used an iron to set all the curls, then pin them up). And a TON of hairspray!!!
  12. Trista ... Check out the Rendezvous resort in St. Lucia and Cocobay Resort in Antigua. They were spared and they are intimate, AI resorts with Complimentary Weddings (at Rendezvous ... $700US at Cocobay). Cocobay looks like its EXACTLY what you want, and it's only $260US per night per couple. The resort looks gorgeous!!!! http://www.cocobayresort.com/antigua_hotel_home.htm Here's the Rendezvous site (First AI boutique resort for couples only). Mine is Amy Martin Photography. The resort photogs aren't bad ... they just aren't the quality and level of creativity that we're used to on this forum...

Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana, DR is adults only ... and the beaches in Punta Cana are some of the most beautiful in the world. There are a few other adult resorts in Punta Cana as well. We are honeymooning at Paradisus Palma Real and while it's not strictly Adults Only, it is targeted toward adults and very few kids go there. Almost all the Punta Cana resorts are all-inclusive.
  16. I'm here to help any way I can as well. I have info on the DR (which Punta Cana is NOT affected) and any NC/SC beaches if anyone is interested. Plus, I'm happy to check into ANYTHING else necessary.
  17. Cute stuff! Perfect for that kind of a theme too!!
  18. I would definitely do a big thing of homemade meat sauce for pastas. Pesto sauce freezes well too (I make it all the time). You could also do a potato/sausage/cheese/egg caserole/quiche for breakfast heat-ups. You cook it all the way through, let it cool, then cut it into slices before freezing so they can take out a few slices at a time instead of having to heat the whole thing up (depending on how big it is). Works for the lasagna and other casseroles too. Dessert? Peach cobbler! Yum-o!
  19. What a great idea! I'd love to get something like this, but doubt that any of my BM's will think of it ... boo-hoo.

I then wrapped with the raffia and then hot-glued the starfish. To get the rounded corners I just went and bought a corner punch at Hobby Lobby. You can find them in the scrapbooking section at Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics. Awesome! They look great! I might do regular invites since we're sending like 165 ... and then send these to the confirmed guests (45 so far) once we get closer ... but I LOVE them! PM'ing you my email!
  21. I'm crossing fingers and toes for everyone. I cannot even imagine having a wedding date coming up with these storms headed in. We are all praying for a miss!!!
  22. I love them! I'd love to see the template as well. I think Tom will LOVE this invite idea!! How many did you make? Did you cut each sheet to get the rounded corners? I guess I'll need some help with this one as well...
