  1. Probably easiest to do your own using one of the beach fonts ... try VistaPrint - Business Cards - Full Color Printing - Digital Printing Company | VistaPrint b/c they have templates that you can personalize for cheap. Do you have an If It's Paper or other stationary store? Also, depending on your wedding date, all the summer theme stationary at Hallmark/card stores will be on clearance soon.
  2. This is what I did for mine ... just a postcard. Sent them out in May -- 11 months prior. Directed them to the website for all detailed information.

  4. P.S. If you haven't yet, check out the Wedding Forum on Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information. It's ALL DR brides and they can probably help you narrow down resorts really quick. Plus, all the wedding reviews are DR wedding reviews. Good resource for DR-specific stuff ... just not good for everything else wedding related (that's why I'm here!!!). :-)

The garden sites aren't near the beach, but we're having a beach reception and will have plenty of beach pics taken. There are a TON of gazebos at Punta Cana resorts. Depends on the price range you want. Lots of people like Melia Caribe and Sunscape the Beach as well as Ocean Blue. I went to a TA and got some Caribbean travel books with DR resorts ... scoured through them and narrowed it down ... then checked out wedding packages in order to naroow things down. In Puerta Plata, DR there is this AWESOME resort with a gazebo that overlooks the ocean on a cliff. It's breathtaking. But, the beach is really rocky in that part of the country. Punta Cana by far has the most beautiful beaches!

Weddings In A Flash!! - Weddings In A Flash -- Check out the Package Prices, I've already confirmed with her for April, so we've got that $50 rate!!! You can find a notary in any city that can do the legal paper signing as far as I know. Heck, if that's the case, have a friend get their Notary license. It's only like $40 here to get one.
  7. This is the link I found for the lady who is doing our legal paper signing. Weddings In A Flash!! - Weddings In A Flash

I would search for notaries who specialize in weddings. We found one who would do as much, or as little as we want. We only want to sign the paperwork (no vows, no ceremony, no nothing) and its $50 ... but she would do whatever you want, wherever you want (at a lake, riverside, your house, whatever). I'm sure you can find someone similar and that might be your best (and most cost-effective) option.
  9. Have you looked at the Paradisus Punta Cana threads? I've posted all of the ceremony and reception locations in those posts. I'm really happy with our choice of a resort!
  10. hhhmmm... All good points, ladies! Lizzy -- that does seem early. My TA says they just need a final head count and guest list of names 60-days prior. I'd have her ask the resort for a 60-day deadline instead... Perhaps I should try to send them out earlier than October (late September) and ask for RSVP's in late November. That way we'd have the holiday season to harrass people for an answer at family functions and then 1/2 a month to track people down that still haben't RSVP'd?? Geez, I just don't know how I can get all that done by the end of September... Do you think it's a bad idea to ask for the RSVP's between Thanksgiving and Christmas?

It ain't gonna happen that way. Damn! But if it did, I am convinced it would have to be a prescription drug. Good point! I wasn't taking any prescription RX when I tried the herbals ... and now that I'm on prescription RX, all the herbals are back in the medicine cabinet.
  12. Yes, we're getting insulated travel mugs for all guests. I can't remember all the places I've priced, since I'm still a ways out from ordering ... but I found plenty that were priced well. Most will also send you a sample before placing an order .. you just have to ask if they don't have a sample order form. We're getting the travel mugs & koozies ... but koozies will likely be more for the AHR's.
  13. Yowza! LOVE these pics! What a great day you had! The kids are gorgeous, Everton is handsome as can be, and YOU are BREATHTAKING!!!

Mine are heels with a slight platform ... but we're not getting married on the beach, so they'll be okay. However, we're leaning towards a beach reception, and the dance floor is like a deck and I know my heels will get stuck in the slits, so maybe I need something like this for the reception. Where did you get them?
  18. My resort has asked that I confirm the location for our ceremony and reception 3 months (90 days) prior to our arrival. Our decisions for these locales will be based on guest attendance. In addition, final payments are required 60 days prior to arrival. Three months prior for locale decisions is January 18 ... which falls right after the holidays. So, do I send out invites in October and ask for an RSVP in mid-November ... before the holiday rush ... or send them out in mid-November and ask for RSVP's by mid-January. I know these are going to get lost in the shuffle, and I know we have a lot of last-minute friends who will likely book a month or two out. But given that we have to make decisions ... which time frame sounds better? Before this deadline, we planned on mailing invites in january w/ a late February RSVP date. I have sent out STD's (May) and already have 47 people booked ... but expect about 35 more to book (guest list is 247) ... and also use email for Newsletter Updates and have a website which is getting good hits. BUT -- LOTS of people who SAY they are coming haven't booked yet. Sorry to ramble...

I know it seems like a good idea to drop weight quickly but not if it means putting yourself in danger. My doc tried several prescription ones with me, and I couldn't take them b'c of the heart rate factor. But Adipex works great. No racing heart, still sleep well, and I still have an appetite, just not a gi-normous one. And, I have them take my blood pressure and heart rate at the gym, so I know I'm okay to take it. It's the only one that has worked for me.
  20. Are you doing cardio? That's where I saw my fastest and most signifiacnt weight loss...
  21. Just went to the doc today to get back on my birth control ... and she gave me another 2 months of Adipex to help me get down to where I want to be. So YEAH! No worrying about the OTC pills. The Adipex, combined with a good exercise program, helped me drop almsot 20 lbs earlier this year.
  22. We sent out our STD's after reseving the date with the resort. We reserved in April, sent out STD's in May, got early bird booking prices for rooms reserved by mid-June and the wedding is April 2008.

Can you go a step further and do all brown and all white instead of just tops? It will just make her more pronounced, while remaining understated. And maybe a Tiffany blue belt sash for everyone to pull the group together...

  25. For my girlfriends bachelorette party, we wore all black and she wore all white -- and although subtly stated, it was pretty obvious what was going on ... and I think drew even more attention that the veil and big 'to-do' stuff.
