  1. I didn't ... but I think if you can find your dress in a store and try it on ... then find the same dress online fo a better price, then go for it! I wouldn't buy it without having already tried it on, personally, because I found that some of the dresses I LOVED on the rack or in magazines looked HORRIBLE on me ... but others I wouldn't have usually tried on looked PERFECT.
  2. Have you looked through the Paragon choices to try to find the name of the pattern? I've registered my casual Pfaltzgraf china on replacements.com (it's discontinued now), but have never ordered anything from there (yet).
  3. Do you know about the Hidden Mickeys? That's really cool. And, I highly recommend taking the tour (I'll find out the name of it) that takes you into the Disney underground where the staff quarters / dressing rooms, etc are. My sister used to work at Disney and was a character for a few years, so told us about that tour. It really showed you a side of Disney you have no idea about. And have you ever noticed that if you ask for directions, they point with 2 fingers? Because in some countries a single finger point is considered rude.
  4. something new: DRESS, VEIL, SHOES, EARRINGS, BRACELET, UNDIES/BRA something borrowed: ... STILL WORKING ON THIS (PERHAPS THE TRAVELING STARFISH) something blue: PROBABLY A BLUE THONG AND A THROW GARTER something old: MY MOM'S PEARLS

  9. Not sure about the night before ... but we are most likely going to se each other before the ceremony for some pictures. I was initially totally against that idea, but after seeing some of the emotional and touching pics that photogs can get during those first moments alone together, when he sees you in your gown and the photog can capture that moment ... I would love some of those type of pictures. My photog prefers bride and groom to do this because of the looks and emotions she is able to capture this way, and I think those are some of the most unbelieveable pics. However, Tom and I really haven't discussed this ... so if he is dead-set on the more traditional way, then I'll do that. But we will likely see each other for breakfast and such first thing in the morning regardless.
  10. "To give a little background, growing up my father was in the military, so we moved around a lot. When I was six we moved from the Northwest Territories in Canada to Bermuda, and even at such a young age, it had a profound effect on me. One memory is still clear in my mind, of a bridal arch left behind on a beach at sunset, tulle and flowers blowing in the wind, and it was then that I decided that one day, I too would be married on a Bermudian beach." That is a great story! I can only imagine that visual image. It must have been ssoo wonderful to live out that dream!!!

  12. So, I asked Tom if he would mind if I surprised him with his wedding band, and he said that I can totally get him whatever I want. So, I think I've narrowed it down to a few Irish/Celtic bands .... but I love them all -- so I need some help in deciding. I haven't decided on the engraving ... but I KNOW he will love the fact that the ring reflects his Irish heritage! He wants Platinum, but I also like the two-tone ring as well (although I could get it in all Platinum too).
  13. It came in the mail today and I love it! The 5x5 size is small, but perfect, I think. When it came, I told Tom that what's in this package is supposed to be his wedding gift, but that I was about to burst and wanted to give it to him now. He said, nope, put it away ... I don't even want to talk about it if it's a wedding gift. So, I guess that's settled. He will get it on our wedding day! Probably the best idea, and now I will have an easier time waiting since that's what he wants.
  14. Awesome. Thanks for sharing!!! And, of course, CONGRATS!!!!

I've just been chatting on the forum. I wonder if I'm forgetting something. I've been working on getting travel together. We are in contact with our TA watching prices. It's still a little early though. We are taking engagement pics tomorrow. With those I'll make the STDs. This is what I have: booked place bought dress made website maybe have my shoes found TA started researching fun stuff to do in the area I think that's it. I'm not doing a big reception afterwards though. We are doing a standard hotel package so i have a lot less to plan. Booked reception location, photographer and band (and sent deposits to all) Purchased Starfish. I've started my search for invitations, my dress, and bridesmaid dresses. we are begining to get our paperwork ready and start our pre-cana (?) classes for our Catholic ceremony (we can book the Church in November once we have everything set. okay, now I have some questions: when is it too early (or too late) to book a florist? I've booked the band so far in advanced, should I email them from time to time to check-in or just have the WC at the Mayan do this for me? I have no clue what to do next. We've done most of the major things, but what are those little things I should be considering? TIA!

I have long, thick hair, so 1 1/2 hours to do my hair would not be far fetched and I think I'm going to have them do my makeup too because I saw someone elses makeup and they did a good job. So I'm figuring at least 2 hours, so I think I'm going to make my appointment for noon time. Whats everyone else doing? BTW, I have a bunch of hair pictures I've collected from around this forum and other sites, and I will post them probably later today. I'm going to get my hair done early rather than later. Our ceremony is at 3 (might change it to 4 so the reception is closer to sunset and cooler weather). Probably get my hair done about 11-12.
  17. You, your dress, shoes and bouquet are absolutely beautiful. You look STUNNING in your dress!!! Are you wearing the dress, etc for both the legal and symbolic ceremonies?
