  1. Thank goodness it was the scale! My STD's I had to get more postage for b/c they told me I could use postcard stamps and then when I went to mail them out they said they we re1/4" too big. Thank God I didn't just put them in the mailbox! Since they were postcards they never would have reached anyone OR been returned to me. Good thing you hand carried them in and got it straightened out as well!!!

I can get #3 in Platinum for him and it will be easier to keep clean, so I think I am leaning towards that one now. aarrgghh! But I still love them all! :-(

Money is tight, so it can't be too pricey. Sorry, I told you I would be no help. lol If money is tight and he already said not to, why not just a heartfelt card? Words can speak volumes ... and mean more than any gift! Have you gotten his ring engraved? That doesn't cost much and is very meaningful!

That is sweet!

I know he will do them, but I guess that will be like my wedding gift to me, since I'm paying for them too. LOL.
  6. Have you checked the review on Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor or Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information? Also do a search for the resort name and the word "wedding" at Webshots - Photo Sharing, Free Wallpaper and Free Screensavers. I found lots of wedding pics from my resort that way.
  7. Hi April! I'm getting married at the Paradisus Punta Cana in April 2008. I have a ton of info, and there is a ton of info in the DR thread on here as well. Also check out Debbie's Dominican Republic Travel Pages - 1,000's of Resort Reviews, Tour, Scuba and Wedding Information. They have a Weddings forum that is all about Punta Cana resort weddings! Welcome! You will LOVE this forum!!!
  8. There are tons of places to get one .. some even come 3 to a set. Here are a few links. Pink Diamond Wedding Design The Dazzling Designs Company - Other Products
  9. Are/Did you exchange wedding gifts? Tom just asked if I would like him to pay off my car for his wedding gift to me. He said he knows it's not a keepsake, but that it will help me get debt-free, which I agree with. I told him that's great and I think it's a FABULOUS gift. I have my BD album for him, but it seems like an awfully small gift compared to paying several thousand dollars to pay off the car. Curious what others have gotten from your men? Also, other ideas on something I can perhaps add to my BD album gift to make it seem a little more substantial...

That didn't take very long for you to get your book - are you pleased with the quality? Did you make the book, or did Jill Higgins make it for you? The quality is great! It comes with a brushed plastic cover that the books slips into (reminds me of a CD case). I picked the pics (had to narrow it down to like 45 from several hundred!)and then Jill put it together for me and sent me the slideshow of the layout before getting it printed. Not sure what service she used, though.
  11. Ooo ... sounds like fun! Definitely waiting on details!!!

But if it's a Symbolic ceremony, you can do whatever you want. They will provide a non-denominational minister, which we will use and then have the WC or a family member do the translation, to make it more authentic ... and have a family member read the Hand Ceremony in English.

I need to ask a friend about the one he uses, b/c he makes Mix CD's all the time and they are great. I'll find out and post!
  14. I like 1 & 3 (love your dress in #1!!!! -- hot mama!) but voted for 3. They all turned out great!

Tom doesn't want to see mine either. I was going to move it to a friends house, but he won't even go into the bedroom where it is... so I guess I have nothing to worry about.
  16. Mine is ivory w/ champagne trim. White didn't look good on me at all -- plus the champagne trim is going to be awesome with a tan!!!
  17. Yeah, we are getting the Reefs with the flasks. Once we arrive, we're going to geteach GM a bottle of Dominican Run and fill up the flask with whatever wil fit. Then, give them the flops to wear at the wedding and the rest of the rum as well. They can do a "toast" by drinking the rum out of their flops. Tom thinks it's the coolest idea ever ... and who cares if they leak? Not like they'll probably ever use the flas again .... but it'll be cool to tell people about it! lol Do The Dram Thing - Transworld Business Magazine
  18. How about plastic sticker with your logo on it to put in the colored area, and then just Sharpie their names on the bottom? Our mugs will have handles and I'm thinking about getting different colored ribbon to tie a small piece on each handle for each person to help keep them straight.
  19. There is a pic of an absolutely GORGEOUS shell bouquet somewhere on my old computer. I'll have to dog for it but I actually LOVE it. It looked great in the pics too ... all different size, shape and color shells. But the bride who used it said it was HEAVY.
  20. I told Tom about doing the iPod and he loves the idea -- so we can play a lot of non-traditional wedding music. There are some sites that have downloadable software available to help you mix the music so it fades in and out from one song to the next, overlapping like on the radio. Once I get all our music downloaded, I will get them in order and then use that software to make it flow.
  21. Not an Iberostar bride, but I am a Punta Cana (Paradisus) bride. Have you been to any other resorts in Punta Cana? We have never been.. PS -- I'm from Washington DC originally. Born and raised! Welcome to the forum!!!
