  1. I LOVE this dress. It's so beautiful and breezy. Looks comfy and cool for a beach wedding. And that champagne trim matches my dress too! LOVE IT!!!

I had to select a different dress that was available on short notice. I liked the new dress and it worked out fine, but if your heart is set on the one you picked don't let them lag or you will be scrambling to select a new one like I was!! So, if you really like this dress, I would ask the store if they have any idea if this particular dress will be discontinued this fall, just to make sure that you still have time. Okay, thanks ladies. Freaking out now! Guess I'll have to be a little firm with the ladies. So far they have been all talk and no action. Time to crack the whip!!! lol

I would go to a reputable jewely store and if they don't do it, they can refer you to another place. I wouldn't take it to a Things Remembered or anywhere like that b/c that ring is too expensive/meaningful. I'd only deal with a jeweler or someone they refer you to.
  5. Here are a few I've found. Maybe this will help. Very cute idea!!! Feather Bouquets Flickr: Photos from Flowers By Megan Feather Flowers : Feather.com.au >>>>> Feathers :: Fashion :: Fantasy
  6. My MOH and 4 BM's will be wearing Bari Jay dresses (Dress Style 249 in beige), so they have to get sized and then special-order their dresses. None of them have done this yet. I'm just starting to get nervous b/c I don't know if the Spring styles will be discontinued/unavailable once it starts to get into fall... I don't want to have to pick new dresses. Wedding isn't 'til April, so even though a couple say they're going to do it ASAP, I don't know if I should push the others yet or if I can still wait a while longer.
  7. Where is your wedding? I presume its not at an all-inclusive? We are not asking anyone to spend any extra money, but we are staying at an AI, so we are doing "Welcome Cocktail Receptions" -- which is an option for you as well. If you put together a timeline of activities ... you can list the "Welcome Cocktail Reception" as 'optional' and then people who come can buy their own drinks (or you can talk to the location about having a few signature drinks and apps available that you pay for). I agree though, it's probably not a good idea to ask or expect anyone to pay for their own (dinnerwise, I think w/ drinks its okay). You'd probably still have a few who expected you to pay (I know we would have those guests!) and it could make for a sticky situation.

  9. I had already come up with my invitation design ... but have fallen in love with the Boarding Pass STD's so many of you have done. So ... is it okay to use those Boarding Pass templates for the actual invitations (since my postcard STD's already went out this past spring)? I showed Tom what I was doing last night and he thought it was cool, but my Mom thinks some people might think its too informal or even tacky, especially for our older family members. What do you think? BOARDING PASS INVITE: I'm attaching what I have so far (the "Return Ticket" would actually be last as the RSVP card that can be sent back as a postcard ... but I have it in the wrong order on here). MORE FORMAL INVITE: Also attached. Pretty straightforward, except it will be on smaller paper and trimmed down. I would also include a single page "newsletter" type form with the more detailed information in either invitation. BOARDING PASS INVITE.doc FORMAL INVITE.pdf
  10. Has anyone does this excursion? It's closer to Puerta Plata than Punta Cana, but I keep hearing rave reviews about it and wonder if it's worth doing a day trip up here. http://www.27charcos.com/index.php
  11. If you're having a starfish theme, type in "flower" and you'll see a ton of flower designs that look like starfish. Lots of BLING and very reasonable. Pretty extensive website, regardless of what your theme is. Hair Accessories and Brooches: Buy Hair Accessories and Brooches online at ebuni.com UK

Man, I couldn't even BEGIN to do a good job of putting my hair up.

But I know one of my bridal showers is going to be a lingerie party and another will probably be a couples "stock the bar" party ... (at least that's what I've heard through the grapevine. lol)
  14. I don't think we're going to use boutiniere's for anyone expect my Dad and FFIL. The guys will probably prefer NOT to have to wear them anyway. :-)
  15. My resort charges $45 for the trial and $70 for the wedding day. Its done in the salon/spa, not in your room, though.

The books are usually 20 - 30 pages long, depending on the design. It takes 4-6 weeks to publish the book, so all in all, about 8 weeks after you give me your selections. A disc of images is not included with the session, but can be purchased for $400. I don't know if it is too much or not. She is an excellent photographer from what I see in on her website. That sounds almost exactly like the BD album that just arrived today of mine!! It looks great and I can see why it's called a pillow book instead of a coffee table book, b/c yo wouldn't want it on the coffee table anyway. lol I evidently got a KICk-A$$ fabulous deal on mine! It was my photogs 1st BD session, so the shoot was also able to help her build her BD portfolio. I paid $165 for the session and book (20 pages). I think I actually only paid for the book now that I see all of these higher prices (I need to send her a HUGE thank you!) And our shoot was like 4-hours, so I am so grateful that I found her! WOW!!! P.S. I didn't get a CD with the images or any prints, though, aside from the BD album, but I can order some from Pictage, which I am going to do.
  17. Yes, we are signed up with Honeymoon Wishes - Honeymoon Registry where your wedding gift is a Romantic Honeymoon and have already had some gifts purchased. We also set up a honeymoon account with our TA, and already have some funds in that as well.
  18. I think the print is fine. It's a cute dress (I just don't personally like those necklines, but that's b/c I don't think they look good on me!). I'd wait to see until after she tries it on. Just be honest with your opinion with her b/c if it doesn't float your boat .. you DO have a right to let her know.

  20. If you find out, please let us know! I'm getting ready to start doing a lot of this printing and will need that same question answered! I got mine from CM and Aylee as well!

Perfect idea! We have several craft stores (Michaels, etc) that offer jewelry and beading classes. In addition, there are some specialty shops that have some really fun classes available too. See if there is anything like this in your area: www.beadedfrog.com or Daly Designs Homepage. They both have "Girls Night Out 'design your own jewelry' options. Try doing a Google search for "*your town* make your own jewelry".
  23. Even if your hubby doesn't want to wear a "Couples" type shirt (mine almost died when I showed him the free wedding shirt I got from Vista Print ... I am forbidden from wearing it in public ... lol) but if YOU wear a "Bride" shirt, that should do the trick as well!!
