  1. Welcome Kariss25!!! We are getting married at PPC this coming April! Be sure to check out all the ifno about the resort uner the DR threads here. There are tons of pics and information that will be really helpful for you! Why did you decide on PPC?
  2. My RSVP's are being sent as postcards too. I'm buying everything this week and starting the process of printing/assembling them next weekend. Ugh! 165 of them and they are 5-6 pages each.
  3. Ours is $4000. 2 Photographers and travel/accommodations complete wedding day coverage (from whenever you start getting ready until it's over!) Day After session 150 4x6 prints online slideshow online proofing Hi-res DVD of images
  4. Need to make this smaller! Holy cow it's HUGE!!!
  5. Okay ... none of Tom and I that I can find ANYWHERE ... and noone has even taken our picture since he's been home. Next month is going to be rough too ... but here's my adorable nephews, Tyler & Evan, from last Christmas -- holding hands!
  6. From my limited experience/research ... they include travel and accomodations in their price ... and charge a flat fee. They usually make their own travel arrangements, though I've encouraged our photog to go through our TA so everyone is covered and accounted for in the same way. If Dreams is an AI, you won't have to worry about extra expenses for food/drinks ... but from what I understand (and I could be wrong) you should include your photog in all wedding activities (if you are having a welcome dinner, farewell brunch, etc. they should be included as if they are a wedding guest). If you are doing something off-site for an added fee, you should pay for them if you are paying for your other guests. If it's an optional thing, then you wouldn't be responsible for their cost if they attend. Does that make sense?
  7. I've been wondering about this too. I think I will add this to the website and to the letter I send out to confirmed guests shortly before our departure, rather than try to include it on the invite.
  8. We have hired a US photog to travel to our wedding. This is how the contract from her is written (we are staying at an AI). Custom Package including the following: two photographers, airfare/accommodations to the Dominican Republic, full wedding day coverage, day- after session with bride and groom, online slideshow, online proofing, 150 4x6 prints, DVD of hi-res images from wedding day.
  9. Awesome! Can't wait to read your review about our Honeymoon Spot!!! Love the pics!!!!
  10. That's hilarious!!! Great pics! I love the look on your face with the drinks!

  12. Yippee!!!! Sssoo exciting ... and so happy for Mom, Dad and baby Jackson!!!
  13. That's so awesome!!! Is it an independent resort, because I can't imagine any chain comp-ing a site visit. That ROCKS!!!!!

The way Nicole was treated at the airport was dangerous and needs to be addressed, other then the report they took in Toronto when we got home. Tami, I will say that all of my guests loved the DR, so don't worry I am sure it will be great, but Nicole was treated very, very, poorly, by the hotel, and the airport, so therefore I can not have many fond feelings for the Dominican Republic, I will never go back! The lack of empathy, and customer service by the Dominican people we dealt with was shocking. I am not talking about much more then the neccessaties of life, which were deemed not important where my daughter was concerned. What happened with Nicole at the airport? I have several guests flying in alone (my sister is one and my FIL's, who are older, as well) and I was already a bit worried about the DR's customs and transfer service...
  15. That's beautiful! And it looks like it will travel nicely too! Great choice!
  16. Great pics! I love all your flower colors! Very Cabo!! Beautiful, beautiful!!!
  17. It sure is nice, but holy cow! I guess it just depends on where you want to use your money most. I know invites were super important to some girls, not so important to others. I'm keeping costs down as much as possible for that kind of stuff for us, and spending extra for the reception, OOT bags and other things. But if invites are a priority, then I say go for it!
  18. Congrats Myles & Sarah! I'll have a thorough review posted before your big day! And I haven't forgotten about you! As soon as I get a minute, I will send you all the PPC info that you asked for in your PM! My apologies for the delay, but please bear with me! :-)
  19. I think you've got several options. A few of which include ... Buy a dress of eBay (I got my TTD one on there for $76) ... or just find a nice white/ivory dress that is fitting for the type and style of both your church and personality. If you want the cute jacket/sash ... why not get a long (or shorter) strapless dress that a sash will complement ... and then a similar small jacket to wear over it.
  20. I am buying the DIY stuff and doing my invites in the next few weeks, so I'll add up the cost and post then. My STD's were DIY as well. The only cost was the paper (sent as postcards) and the stamps. $90 for 165. I was/am able to print my STD's and invites on our professional printers at work (I work for a printer ... so can do it there for free). I anticipate our invites to cost $140 for postage (for 165 plus return postage) and about $100 for the paper/envelopes/supplies ... so hopefully less than $250 for the invites. I'll let you know! These were my STD's. Very simple postcards...
  21. I totally agree that we could make these by finding sandals/flip-flops that are similar and then several smaller starfish in a color to complement the dres. these could be sewn on if the starfish allows or glued/pinned. I know you ladies can do it!!!!
  22. They look GREAT!!! That's what I'm doing for our invitations and you've given me some extra ideas with your STD's! Love them!!!
  23. Love the pics, the proposal, everything! Fabulous!!!!
  24. Yowza! 9 Years!!! Was he overseas or did you get to see each other much? I can't imagine. I thought 14 months was a long time!!! I'm so happy he's home with you now!!!!!
