  1. Hhhhmmm ... unique idea. I would dye mine champagne to match my dress trim. I wonder how you dye crinolin? Is it easy to do?
  2. Very nice! I'm glad you didn't have to cut the circles without a guide or something! That Creative memories stuff is a Godsend! Yowza! Love them!!!
  3. I'm going to do the Mr & Mrs. John Doe unless its a family, then I'm just putting The Doe Family b/c since we're doing the Boarding Pass invites, there is no inner envelope for the first names. Hopefully that's not too bad of etiquette.

Matt still complains about the $ spent on that, thinks it was too much, I try to explain that i didnt make the rules! hahahahaaa. I have a white gold ring, so I would say that is fine, but if his heart is set... Yep, he definitely knows the price difference. My e-ring is a Platinum Tacori. I just don't have that much money ($3500 - yikes!) and got rid of my credit cards so I don't get back into a credit slump again. So, we are paying cash for the wedding (he has credit cards, but is debt free so we're trying not to use them!). Maybe I'll have a few great sales months leading up to the wedding and will be able to afford the Platinum ... but I still think that is way overpriced for that particular ring if it is available in Platinum. Others that look more intrictae and are the same width are only about $1400.
  6. I don't remember the thread, but I'd like to see it. White chalk, huh? Good idea. I wonder what you can use for an ivory gown?
  7. Well, I've done some more research (not in the mood for 'real' work today, lol). I've found that ring on a few other sites. It does come fromIreland ... but only one site offers it in Platinum -- for almosy $3500!!! ouch! I called one place and she doesn't think it's offered in Platinum -- but she's calling the jeweler in Ireland to check for me. Heck, I kinda hope it's NOT available in Platinum, cos if it's not, I'm off the hook and will HAVE to get him the white gold. $600 sounds way better to the checkbook than $3500, that's for sure!!!

  9. I can't remember the name, but there is a thread on here about an awesome little chapel in Vegas. There were pics posted too (I think from an engagement shoot or maybe even wedding) and it was a beautiful backdrop and setting... Sorry I'm not more help but I'll search and see if I can find it!
  10. I think Jackie Mathey sounds nice ... but what I think doesn't much matter now, does it. lol.
  11. We talked about this last night and both Tom and one of my BM's think it's not a good idea for us since we are having a large guest list attend the wedding. So, majority rules and I'll just ask that they wear "beach chic" -- no shorts or t-shirts ...

OMG!!! They have that EXACT ring on the website and it says it comes from Dublin -- and that they have it in-stock at their store! Thanks, Ann! Hopefully they can get it in Platinum, but I think I'll take white gold if not ... at least it'll be from Ireland. SWEET!!!
  13. It's this one ... I'm not sure what the name of that style knot is to search for others. But I've found another I like on Wedding Rings & Celtic engagement Rings: affordable & unique gold ring designs! ... although they're made in NY and I really want to get his from Ireland. Maybe I should contact that store of yours in St. Paul. I went to the only Irish store I could find around here but they didn't have any wedding bands nor could they order them...

Shoot. Yes, the ring I picked is on that site ... but there is another site that I think I can send them the pic and the can design it as well, so I might try that. Tom wants platinum anyway and this site only does this particular ring in white gold.

It just made the dress bag unbelievably heavy- but just keep that in mind if you find some clothes you just can't fit into your suitcase! lol I'm going to try this trick as well ... but OMG I can already envision how friggin HEAVY its going to be ... and FI isn't so careful with that sort of stuff so I'll be the one lugging it through the airport, along with my other carry-on. Tom will likely only have one suitcase ... but he's wearing his dress blues for the ceremony and then changing into khakis and a Guayabera (sp?) shirt for the reception ... so we'll have that, my real and TTD dresses (both HEAVY!) and any other sundresses etc I can't get into my suitcase. lol. My arm hurts just THINKING about carrying this through the airport. And I'm DEFINITELY double -- if not quadruple (hehe) bagging...

No, not really any problems cutting, it's just ssoo time consuming. We're using corner cutters for the corners and Exact-o knives for the inset cuts. One of my friends has all the Creative memories scrapbooking gizmos, which have worked perfectly. It's just that cutting ssoo many isn't a quick turn-around. :-)

Hey Ann, which website did you have the issues with? I'm about to order Tom's ring and want to make sure the site I use isn't the same one. I've got it narrowed down to two sites.
  18. I ordered some from the website a few months ago, but after using it a few times ... it's definitely $1 make-up. Not impressed.
  19. It is GORGEOUS!!! I love it and it's going to look fabulous on you!!! Can't wait for February so we can see YOU in it!!!
  20. I scanned in a copy of each page that I just printed on regular paper. So, this is what they look like on white paper before being cut (the colors are different on the Return Ticket b/c I used orange paper, so I had to adjust the print color so it looked good). Invite... RSVP (front and back)... Pocket Front
  21. Oh no Shelley ... I am ssoo sorry to hear this. But always know there are options and medications and things that can help overcome this. However, I don't know anything about it to really help in the advice area. Can I ask why you had the tests done? Did you just want to make sure all is good for when you are ready?

  23. We're getting married in April 2008. I mailed our STD postcards in May 2007 and directed people to our website. I've sent out email "newsletters" every month or so with updates and --again-- directing them to our website where all the latest info is. We're mailing the formal invitations in early October. We're doing it this early b/c our TA needs to give the resort a final head count by mid-January (90 days prior) and b/c we can't pick our reception location until we know how many people will be coming. So, we're asking for RSVP's by November 30 so we don't have people forgetting during the December holidays. Then, I'll use the 2-weeks in early January to follow-up with the hoards of people who likely never sent the RSVP back to us.
