  1. We are signing our legal papework in the States as well. For our DW ceremony, it will be very minimal. The general vows they say in the DR, plus the Hand Ceremony, which will be read by my Uncle. I have downloaded some songs to play before the ceremony (as people are being seated) but haven't chosen the definite songs or order yet. We'll playing "Ground Control to Major Tom" for FI to signify for Groom and GM to be in position. Not sure of what for the BM's yet. I am walking down the aisle to the "Over the Rainbow" version from 50 First Dates. No music during actual ceremony and we'll start-up Smashmouth;s "I'm A Believer" from Shrek as soon as we say I DO and walk back down the aisle to that one. Does that help at all? I can get you names of songs ... but not right now (I'm at work and can't log in to iTunes to grab 'em).
  2. Prince of Wales is the place he's thinking of. Does that sound good/close to you at all?
  3. We are staying at the Embassy Suites in Midtown at Centennial Olympic Park. Tom says there's some British pub nearby there that would be good to meet-up at. I can't remember the name, but will find out.
  4. Awesome! I'm a walker ... not a runner, unfortunately! :-)

I'm doing something similar but in short sleeve, and I know excatly what you are talking about. Try some of these sites or do a search for "long sleeve Guayabera shirt". They might not have EXACTLY what you are looking for, but it will give you some additional options. I wish I knew if there was an actual name for the type of shirt you want. Charliee Sheen wears it on "Two and a Half Men" every episode! lol Guayabera, Guayabera shirts, Hawaiian dresses, Camisa, Mexican wedding shirts Tropical shirts. 6. I'm game, and I can help with some of the organizing as well if need be. Just let me know!

They have some really cool stuff. I love the reversible tote bacgs with the hibiscus design on one side. Another option for my BM's. So much to choose from! And she's really reasonable with the printing costs if you are using the same design on multiple items.
  9. What are your Mom's wearing for the ceremony? My Mom just picked two outfits (one dress and one pantsuit) and will decide which one looks better once they arrive. She picked a turquoise/aqua color, which is one of our wedding complement colors. So, I think I'll tell my FMIL to look for something coral in color (which is our other complement color). This is the pantsuit my Mom picked. She doesn't have a pic of the dress yet. Any thoughts?
  10. I met with the owner of this company yesterday and was really impressed with their offerings and their prices. The owner is as nice and she can be and very accomodating. The website has a TON of different things and I might even be able to get a better deal here for our travel mugs than on discountmugs.com. So, wanted to share in case anyone is interested. 11. Not the same problem you are faced with ... as we actually are inviting everyone (wwaayy too many people -- like friends of FI's parents who we've never even met) but most of the "aren't I invited" people won't actually come anyway. Our invitations invite everyone to both the DW and AHR, with the RSVP card asking for responses to each event. We have almost 50 people booked so far ... with maybe another 20 once the actual invites go out. We are okay with just "friends" coming -- so I know this isn't much help ... but I didn't want to make 2 different sets of invites, etc, so we just decided if we wanted them at the AHR, we'd invite them to the whole she-bang ... knowing (hoping) many will only make it to the AHR.

Oh, I hadn't heard of that one! Will definitely check it out too!
  14. Hi ladies! Has anyone heard of/used Podfitness: Custom Audio Workouts: Home? I found it on a thread with "Useful Wedding Websites" and decided to check it out. I signed up for the free trial (use promo code "Texas" and 10-day free trial becomes 21-days. I'm going to give it a shot and see if it helps me stay focused and motivated. It integrates a personal trainer session into your selected iTunes. What I;ve read about it sounds great ... but we'll see...
  15. That's gorgeous! It looks great on you. if you are doing that beautiful long Mantilla veil then I would forego the flowers for simplicity sake. But you look like a knockout in that dress!
  16. So excited for you too! Breathe deep, don't stress and have the most fabulous wedding day ever!!!!! Cheers!!!
  17. I feel your pain! I picked some BM dresses and asked the girls which they liked best. Once we came to a decision (in June), I asked that they get fitted and order the dresses no later than the end of September (delivery would then be in late January). So far, only ONE of my BM's (I have 5) has ordered her dress. Now, delivery times are already late February. I understand these girls say they want to lose weight before ordering, blah, blah, blah ... but I just had to tell them that they can wait as long as they want, but if they don't have the dress in time, they won't be in the formal line-up. They have all had PLENTY of time ... and I told them if anyone had problems with $$ (which none of them do) to let me know and I would take care of it for them. I don't know what else to do either. It is ssoo frustrating. I can not understand why your BM's can't follow simple directions either. I KNOW it is easy to find a red or magenta gown!!! Give me their sizes, I'll go shopping for them. lol.

  23. oh geez, Shelley. That SUCKS!!! You know, my hairdresser is a friend of mine and while Tom was gone, there were times I was tight on money .. but I would always CALL before my appt to make sure I could have her hold me check til payday if need be. And then I would always overtip tremendously because I know it can be an imposition. People need to not take friends for granted that do those kinds of things for you. But so many people do take advantage of the friendship or take it for granted far too often. How good of friends are you? Either really good and she expectes it or not nearly as good as she would like to have you believe and she is truly using you. I can't give much advice, except to say that you are "booked up" from now on when she calls. That will get the message across loud and clear and she will either pay-up or go somewhere where 'being tight on cash' isn't an option, you know? But I do think you need to probably speak up to make it clear that is NOT the way friends do business with friends.
  24. SOLD! But, yes if you find these shoes ... they fit true to size.
  25. I'll be in ATL for the game 10/14-10/15 if there are any gals who are either going to the game or want to meet up on sunday night or Monday beforehand.
