  1. Holy moly! I love that dress! Beautiful! I wanted one like that but I'm too hippy for it to look good on me. Can't wait to see pics of you in it, hot mama!

  4. I think it's a great option. But definitely wear something under it for the TTD!
  5. I love these pics! They turned out fabulous! I love to see such fun pics where there's no doubt you are both having a great time!
  6. This topic has also been discussed in-depth in several other threads -- which is when I first even THOUGHT about it. ugh. But it sounds from those threads as though most airlines are veryeasy to work with and many even give you a complimentary upgrade to First Class when possible when they recognizt the rbide and groom. I am going to take a personal steamer with me (the small handheld kind) and my Mom is going to work out wrinkles that may have taken shape. But, if youhang the dress in a friends/family room upon arrival, the wrinkles will likely fall out on their own. I have a sheer overlay on my dress, along with the crinolin, etc ... and it's all wadded up in the garmet bag, but whenever I take it out to try it on, it's hardly wrinkled at all. So, I think as long as we are as careful as possible with our dresses, that we will be pleasantly surprised -- even if they do have to go in the overhaed compartments.

I guess I shouldn't judge til they give me a quote, right? :-) Did they tell you the price up-front or not until it was done? When are most of you ladies doing your first fitting?
  8. Great pics! Love the one of them in the middle of the road. Great backdrop with all those perfect palm trees.
  9. I priced my alterations at a regaular bridal store and they say about $100 to take in the bust, waist and do the bustle. I have not had David's give me a quote yet (that's where I got my dress too) -- but I know they will be more expensive. I got my dress last year and they asked me to wait and do the alterations and bead check all at the same time (probably to ensure I'd get the alterations done there). I already know I am missing a few beads on the dress b/c it was off-the-rack -- so I KNOW I am going to be overcharged and undersatisfied. I think $95 is pricey compared to my quote for even more altering. However, I am going to go to David's soon and get a quote as well, b/c I am not going to let them rip me off. Why not just take your dress to a regular bridal salon. You will likely get better service, better altering and a lower price. I just stopped in and tried on the dress for them and they gave me a rough quote with no problems. I wonder though how much a regular salong will charge for a bead check since I didn't get the dress there?
  10. Yep -- one to throw and one to keep. I am wearing two. One is my something old/blue (it's my Mom's garter) and I'm getting a U.S. Army garter and that's the one Tom will throw.
  11. Here's the cake I'm asking the resort to duplicate... And these will be for the Cupcake tower at our AHR:
  12. We have a list of what days people are arriving and are meeting at the Lobby Bar each night for a "Welcome Cocktail" to meet the new arrivals. I am going to set up the Welcome Bags on a table in that area for whoever is arriving that day. Each bag will have the guests name on it so we can track who has picked up their bag and who hasn't. There is a cost to distribute them to the room ($5 like it was at host/Tammy's resort as well) and I don't want to pay that cost -- plus leaving them at the reception desk in the DR isn't an option with so many people saying things will just walk off -- so I don't mind being in charge of them at the Cocktail Reception each night.

  14. We have to give the resort final numbers January 15 -- so our invites went out last week for the DW (4/19) and AHR (5/17) ... and our RSVP is November 30th. I know people won't send back the RSVP's by then, but it gives me time after the holidays tofollow-up before having to give the resort final numbers. Our payments are due 60-days prior for all guests rooms (which will be 2/19) -- so I don't think it's too much to ask that they RSVP early. I realize for the AHR that it's really early -- but I will send out reminder invites closer to that date and don't care about those RSVP's until we get back from the DW. We'velready started getting lots of RSVP's back, though, so I'm pleased with that -- so far. :-)
  15. That is great to have so many people able to come. Hopefully there are some other options. Is there any kind of ferry service between islands (never been to Hawaii so not sure if Molokai is near any others). Definitely keep us posted, but I think it's a good problem to have!

  17. Wow -- they are all great. How come I can't figure out how to make the logos like that? They are awesome! Hard choices. I like them all but I don't care for the heart shape -- but that's just me.
  18. lol -- haven't seen a few of those before -- but they are always good!!!
  19. I wonder if Dreams will change the way they do weddings. I know I've heard a lot about the old Sunscape the Beach and that is was a wedding factory, churning 'em out by the hour it seemed.
  20. Sweet! Will definitely check it out while there in April!!!
  21. WELCOME!!! I havent been to a Sandals resort, but I;ve heard good things! Check with some local travel agents for their recommendations. That should help you narrow it down AND help you find a great DW TA!
  22. Another trick we used to use in the beauty pageant days is to use duct tape. Lean over and push your boobs together and have someone duct tape them underneath. That gives you SERIOUS cleavage. Then, put on a push-up bra with it and VOILA -- big honkin' hooters!
  23. I tell you what -- I wear the basic Miracle Bra from VS and it makes a HUGE difference (A to C for me as well). I have a few Miracle Bra bikini's from VS also and this summer my friends about died wondering why my hooters looked so big in a swimsuit. I'd try the basic Miracle Bra and I think you will get your hoped-for results!
