  1. Love them! I just emailed her for some of her beachy (starfish) designs. Looks like these will be my BM and Mother of Bride/Groom totes! Thanks for sharing!!!
  2. I definitely think we tell the person who we are. I'm going to be sending mine early so it's done with (plus, I already bought them their gift! -- I hope they love it!!)
  3. Beautiful dress! Isn't it great when you KNOW you found THE dress! My Mom picked mine too, it wasn't anything I thought I'd ever wear either!
  4. I can't wait for my PPR honeymoon -- it's beautiful! Have you posted your review yet?
  5. Great pics! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! I love the Polaroid Photo Guest Book!!!!
  6. Sorry -- double post. This site is acting wacky again today!
  7. We are getting married in April and while many guests have booked their flights, we haven't yet. We tried to use our NWA miles, but were told that timeframe is already blacked out. One of my BM's used her miles to book her flight on US Airways back in May and had no problem. Now, we are monitoring airfares b/c they had skyrocketed for Punta Cana (we'll be flying out of ATL b/c we want a direct flight on NWA) but finally they are starting to level off and come back down for our dates. Basically, I would set up alerts so different sites will email you when the price drops, and jump on it when it looks good. I monitor all the departure cities for our confirmed guests and email them as soon as good fares pop up -- because oftentimes they won't last long!
  8. One of my TA's colleagues is going to be at my DW resort next month -- so she is going to use it as my own "virtual site visit." She will meet with my WC and scout out the ceremony and reception locales ... but I need to give her a list of questions to ask and things to look for. I don't want to leave anything out, so any thoughts would be wonderful. We are already upgraded to the Royal Service Suites ... but perhaps I should have her check out which building numbers are the best (closest to everything since it's such a big resort?). I'm sure I'll forget to have her ask a million things -- but I know you ladies can help me out!
  9. I've spoken to some girls who got theirs back fast and others who waited almost 6 months. I think the DR plays by the beat of their own drum, so there's probably no standard -- although they say 3-4 months. Another reason there is no way we are doing the legal stuff there. Just too much hassle (not to mention the cost!).

The next year wouldn't seem like a wedding to me. The anniversary of our first date is May 13, and we got engaged a year later on June 13 -- so we're signing the legal paperwork on April 13 ... although our DR ceremony is April 19. We are just having a notary friend witness us signing hte marriage license and not doing any type of ceremony until the DR.

  12. We are gettign married in the DR in April, but signing the legal documents beforehand -- becasue it is easier AND a lot less expensive. There are several threads on here about Vow Renewals and about DR marriages that should help you out a ton, but if there is anything else I can help answer, just let me know!

  14. No table names or numbers for me. I figure there isn't much reason too, since everyone will have been mingling amongst themselves for several days prior -- so noone will be strangers and new friends can sit with new friends.
  15. I like the starfish/sand/candle option best. I'm actually going to steal that pic to add to my file. I think it looks better than what Maye is suggesting.

I did not want to have my wedding during hurricane season ... then, some of my friends are in college or teach college and did not want to have my wedding too close to the exams which are usually the first couple of weeks of may ... man oh man, I thought I was good with my date ... totally overlooked other holidays such as passover ... I guess you can lookup the wedding date you choose on the net to make sure it is not falling on one holiday or popular day ...something I did not think about doing even with all my "analysis" .... I know exactly what you mean! Passover threw us for a loop when my TA told us we were traveling during a holiday time. I was like -- no we're not -- I checked and Eater is in March .. blah blah blah. I didn't have an inkling of a clue about Passover.
  17. Awesome! Thanks for sharing and keep 'em coming!
  18. First and third are smokin' fabulous on you! I love them both! Girl, you look GOOD in those dresses (all of them)!!!
  19. Love your e-ring and I think the first one goes best if you want them to be similar in style. Beautiful! I love it!

She held the lace and tsk tsked and said "Nope I can't do this" "No" "No way" "This too difficult" She then preceded to tell me how she would have to take the zipper out (which runs down the entire back to my butt) I was a little worried but am grateful she said no. So I took it to David's and just did the 95 bucks on it. The lady was so nice and I saw her work on her daughter who was there that had bought a dress 2 sizes to big and her mom altered it that very day. It was perfect. I hate that I spent a hundred bucks. But I feel so much safer and not as stressed about it. Awesome! Glad it worked out -- and NO stress!
  21. Easter is in March in 2008, so avoid that weekend. In April, avoid Passover. Our wedding falls right on Passover, which we didn't have a clue, and our TA says that's why airfares are higher for that time. So, just avoid any general or religious holidays when planning. EDITING TO ADD: Sorry, just realized your date is in 2009 -- but still be aware of when the holidays fall and avoid traveling then!
  22. I already have my bridal jewelry, but love some of what they have! Thanks for sharing!
  23. Love it all! Post more, post more! :-) I laughed at the travel mugs b/c we are going to have a suitcase full as well!
  24. So many great pics!!! I love the one close to the end where you two are sitting on the ledge and the blue sky and clouds surrounds you with the ocean below. Breathtaking.
