  1. I'm working on getting some good cardio and workout songs on my iPod as well, since as of this coming weekend I am weight-loss bound! :-) Here's a link to another forum thread and it has a bunch listed that I'm going to download and try out! Ultimate cardio playlist
  2. I think that "Meet the Mr. & Mrs." is a great idea! I may actually steal that phrase for the AHR invites! Couple that with a potluck -- and whammo -- a no-cost, low-cost event with minimal stress and plenty of good times!
  3. I would definitely check your local jewelers before chain jewelers. In my experience, they will put more attention to detail into the engraving. And, if they don't offer it at their store, you are likely to get a solid recommendation as to where to go instead.
  4. What about something simple like a potluck BBQ at your house or at a family member or BM house? Invite everyone to bring a dish -- or divide up responsibilities on the invites to ask certain people for certain things (side dish for those you know cook, wine/beer/spirits for those who don't cook, etc). I think that's a perfect way to show the wedding video and pics and make it very non-commital for guests -- especially if you aren't asking for guests ... since they are bringing food it doesn't imply gifts as well.
  5. We are getting married at the PAradisus Punta Cana and honeymooning at the Palma Real. We looked at the Melia, but I was afraid it was too much of a "wedding factory" resort, with more than one wedding day. That's just me -- I don't want to worry about running into another bride/bridal party on our big day. But I've heard the resort is very nice!!!

Here are pics: I'm actually glad you got us something other than Merlot because recently our tastes have been moving more towards Cabernet and Shiraz - this blend looks YUMMY! So do you rep for a wine company? That's so cool. I am so excited to finally have some wine charms! I can't wait til Martin and I can sit down by the fire with wine in the glasses you gave us eating the yummy chocolates. THANKS!!! P.S. OK LADIES, You may NOW begin your future planning!!! Sorry I have been MIA lately, but I am glad to see that you got your gift last week! I know I was the of the BDW Mohicans to get it out to you -- but I hope it was worth the wait!
  7. I search on Airline tickets, Discount Airfare, Helping you find Cheap Flights At FareCompare and then book directly through the airline website, which is usually a few dollars cheaper.
  8. what fun! Looks like a blast and the impromptu stuff can be even more fun -- especially if Mom finally agreed that it was ok! :-)
  9. I thought I posted here a while ago but it must have been when my computer or the forum was going wacky! :-) I LOVE the BM dressesd Laura -- you look astonishing! Your hair has gotten so long (I remember talking about that many months ago!). Is that your sis in the first pic? I see what appears to be an uncanny resemblance?
  10. We are signing our legal paperwork in the US a few days before we leave for our wedding. It will only be a symbolic ceremony for us, but it will still be done in Spanich with an English translation from our WC or a guest whom we pick. We could do it all in English, but decided it would be nice to have it more authentic to the area that we are marrying, so we decided to stick with the Spanish ceremony. We are doing a Hand Ceremony and some readings (maybe) and those will be read in English only by a few guests that we ask to take part.
  11. We are getting married in April 2008 and began booking in May 2007 (so almost a year out). We needed to have a minimum of 10 rooms booked within a certain time frame to qualify for an early bird rate, which is what we did. Then, anyone else who booked after the fact could get that rate if it is still available or whatever the best rate is. but at time of booking, a deposit is due for each guest/room. I think b/c your starting the booking process much closer to your actual wedding date than we did ... is why the timeframes are much more stringent. But it's not unreasonable to ask for a deposit to be placereserving the room. BY next week is obviously going to be tough, unless you've already been in contact with some guests who you know plan on coming. For us, anyone who booked through our travel agent will have to pay their FINAL payment by January 15 (90 days prior to departure) ... so with your wedding date being exactly one month after mine ... I can understand why getting the deposits in and rooms reserved is a bit more of an issue for a TA. Our resort is almost at capacity (if it's not already over capacity) so we could be faced with last-minute guests being bumped to other resorts or not being able to reserve a room at our resort at all if they wait much longer. Hope that helps

Here it is: He leaned over and kissed her like they were alone in that room, and right then, right there, she didn’t care what came next. Whatever it was, she knew it would be all right, or it wouldn’t be all right, but it would be part of the same unbroken line they were all walking in, which is, of course, the real lesson, and about as much perfection as she could stand without crying right there in front of everybody, which is, of course, what she did. Then it was done, official, and the party could begin in earnest. And it did. And they danced too wild, and they sang too long, and they hugged too hard, and kissed too sweet, and threw their heads back and howled just as loud as they wanted to howl, because by now they were all old enough to know that what looks like crazy on an ordinary day looks a lot like love if you catch it in the moonlight. The gum is from a store here in Seattle called Archie McPhee's. That is where I got the wedding toppers too. They just have a bunch of crazy crap. The bracelets are from uncommongoods.com I love this reading from the book! That last line about how crazy looks is so perfect. I might use it as a guide, but shorten it considerably ... but it's PERFECT!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Do you have any bead stores near you? I am getting all of my BM jewelry, as well as my earrings and bracelet, and getting my Mom's pearls restrung at this place in my town ... 15. What an absolutely perfect sounding wedding and reception and all-around experience! I love the vows and the pictures look like it was a beautiful set-up. You did a fab job describing everything ... I feel like I was there ... adn I love all of the uniqueness that you put into it. Not everyone will understand the amount of effort it obviously took for you to pull off an event like that! CONGRATS and CHEERS!!!
  16. Do the fans already have the aqua ribbon trim on them?
  17. These are great pics! I'd love to see some of the sunset and night shots too, but they are all beautiful!

I just thought I would share with anyone who is still looking at buying some....they were really quick to respond to my emails as well. They have tons of colors as well!! How many did you order? I asked him about getting 8 for a discounted price, and he gave me the same quote as you ($9/ea w/ free shipping) if I buy a minimum of 10.
