  1. We've considered this but haven't looked into any of them seriously yet. I'll check on Consumer Reports and see if they have any recommendations b/c we rely on that for a lot of purchases and they are pretty on target!
  2. Thanks ladies! Mine should be in mid-January and FH should arrive early February!
  3. Yum-o! I LLOOVVEE Red Lobsters biscuits! My Mom has been making that recipe for years too. I had forgotten about it!
  4. Mmmmmm... I love shrimp and pesto. Homemade pesto is the BEST! I must try!
  5. We are trying to find out the wedding songs of each married couple that is attending -- and playing each song during the ceremony. We will either announce each couple as their wedding song is played -- or just make a blanket announcement that we hope they enjoy hearing their own wedding song during our special night.

  8. I'm glad some of you ladies are good at this -- b/c I am constantly going nuts trying to get colors to change -- but with no luck. Perhaps my computer isn't configured correct or I don't have the right applications. I'll be soliciting your help once I get around to focusing on that stuff again!
  9. I just ordered a bunch of Passport Covers from this store on eBay : COVERMECRAZY.COM. They are $9.99 each and because they have so many designs, I was able to personalize each one to the person I'll be ging it to (fave colors or designs for BM's, Mickey Mouse for our little Ring Bearers, camo for the Military guys, etc). And she offers free shipping on any orders over $25.00.

  11. WOW! They look awesome! How many did you get? Maybe for the bridal party we could do it, but not for all the guests, but I LOVE it!!!
  12. We wanted to have a day-after brunch at the resort (very informal, maybe even at the buffett area so people can come and go as they please). But, we have a lot of guests who will be leaving on that morning -- and with scattered 1pm - 4pm flights, many will need to leave the resort pretty early (it's about a 45-minute ride back to the airport) to get checked in, etc. Should we consider trying to be up early to meet those leaving for an 8-9am breakfast? (About half of our guests will leave the day after the wedding and the other half the following day ... which is when we leave). Or should we forego the brunch idea altogether? How many of you did this?
  13. I am not familiar with this, but I have just ordered RevitaLash ... which is supposed to help naturall lengthen and curl your lashes. My hair stylist recommended it to me over the extensions ... so I'm going to give it a shot. RevitaLash - Longer Eyelashes - Eyelash Extensions - Anti Aging Eyelash - Lash Extension - Longer Lashes
  14. Interesting. Great idea if it works for all of you ladies doing the boxed invitations especially!!!
  15. We are getting married at one resort (Wed-Mon, with the wedding on Saturday). and then on Monday moving a few miles down the beach to a more upscale resort for our honeymoon (Mon-Sun).
  16. Oohh... I really like some of these! Let us know how it looks when they arrive!!! I am thinking about ordering some to see how the color matches my dress detailing color. Yeah!!
  17. So, we finally narrowed it down to what we each want and I am so excited about our decisions! Here is what FH picked -- a Trinity Love Knot ring from Ireland (it will be white gold). His is from this website, under the Trinity Knot Rings: Celtic Wedding Rings and Irish Wedding Rings and Bands hand-made in Dublin And here is mine. I found it online from a wedding ring shop in NYC. We were hoping to make it up there to check them out personally, but luckily FH's brother lives up there. They are all custom-made rings. Mine is from this website, on the 2nd page of the Victorian Collection: www.WeddingRings.com They should arrive in about 4-5 weeks!!!

Do I enter my maiden name in the last name box before my married name? Or does it not matter which box I place it in? Thought I'd ask you guys since you're more pleasant than the SSA ) If your married name will be Jane (first name) Sue (middle name) Smith Doe (last name) then that's how you put it on the form. But ... if you want it to be Jane (first name) Sue Smith (middle name) Doe (last name) then you need both your original middle and last name on the same line. Basically, if have to decide if your last name will be Smith Doe, as opposed to moving your maiden name to your middle name. Does that make sense? Wow. Confusing for me to write much less read. hehe
  19. I used the Boarding Pass Invite templates and kept our wording very informal. Everyone loved the way things were worded and said it helped them envision and fun-filled wedding as opposed to something stuffy.
  20. Gosh, I have been MIA for most of December so I am going to have to catch up on some posts before I can make any nomination decisions! I feel like I've missed so much lately!
  21. Didn't get much at all, but that was by design. FH and I decided not to exchange gifts and I told both out families we would be "cancelling" the gift exchange part of the holidays this year since everyone is saving for the wedding. But, my family always draws names and we will fill each others stockings, so we still did that. No major gifts, just stocking stuffers, but I got a few sets of wine charms (tons of wine stuff really, which I LOVE!) and my folks got Tom and I a few joint gifts (much wine related too, lol). Our cat gave us a Warm-Mist Humidifier with a card saying she hopes it helps us sleep better (since Tom snores and we usually end up in separate rooms) ... and we got the cat a bunch or stuff. Fun, relaxing day -- but no real exciting gifts. Hopefulkly we'll go crazy next year! :-)
  22. I use Download fonts | dafont.com for everything ... or just find someone who has a font I like. I don't see a need to pay for them. And on Download fonts | dafont.com they also have a purchase option if the font you want isn't available for free.
  23. They look great! I uploaded one of our logo's and it's on the corner of our address labels. I used them on both the invites and RSVP's, but our invites were casual so it worked just fine.
