Veil Decision -- Down to Two.
foxytv replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
wow. you ladies make decisions i thought were almost nailed down even harder. LOL. -
Ok ladies ... This weekend has been all about getting caught up on the forum and getting caught up DW stuff that I haven't gotten around to yet. Now, it's veil time. I love the veil they showed me at David's Bridal when I bought the dress, but it's almost $200 -- and I just don't see spending that much. So I've found 2 veils for less that half that cost and would like some feedback. I'm posting a pic of my dress detail so you can see what it will be laying up against. I want an elbow length veil -- I've picked one that's a 1-tier and one that's a 2-tier. I also don't know if I should get ivory or champagne. Or -- should I get a plain veil w/o detailing at all? Here's my dress detail: Here's the 1-tier veil w/ detailing (shown in cathedral length but I'd be getting elbow length): Here's the 2-tier veil w/ detailing.

LF Already filled OOT Bags???
foxytv replied to kingstonbride's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Congrats on your wedding! I'm a PC bride too! I haven't bought the actual OOT bags yet but might just use the simple clear cellophane bags for Oriental Trading. Trying to keep costs down since I've gone overboard in other areas :-) -

Okay -- here's my alfredo recipe (adapted from my good friend Tony Bertolo, a true blooded Italian with a ton of older Italian ladies who ove to cook pasta!!! -- he and his family have several Italian joints locally.) 1 lb. Orichette pasta, cooked and drained (I love the way the orichette holds on to the sauce, and the consistently of this pasta -- but you can use any pasta you prefer). 4 cloves garlic, finely minced 1/2 stick unsalted butter Heavy cream (about 2 cups -- adjust based on thickness desired) Fresh Parmesan, Asiago or Romano cheese (freshly grate it yourself just before adding it to the sauce) About 1 cup or adjust based on desired thickness/consistency Salt Pepper Basil Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add garlic and saute until lightly brown and aromatic. Keep heat on low and slowly add in heavy cream, whisk to blend. Slowly heat butter/cream/garlic mixture, stirring. Slowly add grated cheese and continue to whisk until melted. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix pasta and sauce, adding basil as garnish. ENJOY!!! I keep my thickness/consistency relatively light/soupy, since it will thicken over time. But let me tell you, this recipe is simple ad DIVINE!!!

I need wedding boobs!
foxytv replied to AmyFled's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I need wedding boobs too but my sress is a strapless straight across so I don't think that's going to happen. Definitely no chance of cleavage for me. But I LOVE your dress and think even a little hint of cleavage is all you need. I love wearing halter style dresses b/c they always make my itty bitty titties look bigger than they are!!! -
OMG I am a pasta FREAK and have a TON of fabulous recipes (well, I really don't use a recipe for anything, but I can wing it enough to tell you what I do. I made alfredo last night -- my FAVE! We're actually going to get pasta and salad for lunch right now so I'll add that recipe and some others (Penna a la Vodka) when we get back!

You are both probably right! -
You can just do a Googe search for sand ceremony and tons of different purchase options will show up. You can buy colored sand to match your wedding colors and bring it with you. You don't need a lot of sand, just enough to fill the sand ceremony vase.

My OOT bags and candles
foxytv replied to StephanieMN's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
WOW! That looks fabulous! I am ssoo behind on my DIY projects and likely won't get half the stuff done that I want to. LOVE IT!!! -
Our rings should be in by late January/early February. I have a feeling FH's won't be the right size b/c he was difficult to get sized accurately. I think the size he told me will be too small -- but at least we'll have time to send it back for another size if that's the case. We will be getting them insured as soon as they arrive, and keeping them in a safe place until the ceremony. Tom will be in charge of that b/c he is the organized one!

Can't decide on the shoes
foxytv replied to Sharonie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ouch! $115 a pair?!?! Honestly, I think you can find similar white bridal shoes for a fraction of that price. But the red/black ones. Oo-la-la! -
Who Has Used Discountmugs.com?
foxytv replied to foxytv's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Well, I've already ordered/paid -- I am comfortable with having gone with them ... but really want to see a proof since my logo's are all 2-colors but the mugs can only have 1 color for the imprint. I'm sure it will be fine but I wanted to see the color and size to make sure it's what I envision. -
I placed an order for my travel mugs in early December and they say they should be shipping in mid-late January. However, I'm curious from anyone who has already used them if they will send a proof before they print and hip the mugs? I asked for one but haven't heard anything back yet. I know Kelly (dragonfly) got hers from there but I haven't seen her online much since her wedding.

I haven't seen them in ivory though. I got mine on Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more. -
Pink Dot sounds awesome. Definitely nothing like that here in SC. We are having a NY bonfire. I have some awesome sparkling wines, red wines and white wines as well as beer and more liquor than we could possibly need. But no special recipes -- although there are some awesome ones on here I might need to try!!!!

Calling all May 2008 Brides
foxytv replied to babycow's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am glad I am not alone in not knowing what I should have already completed and whether or not I am ahead of the game or behind it. -
I've been to one for a friend a few years ago. Great for a local wedding, but not much to offer, except to register for free stuff and contests for any of us DW brides. But, it's still fun to get ideas and like Ticia said above -- REGISTER to win anything possible. But beware b/c you will likely start getting lots of spam emails/phone calls/junk mail as a result of signing up for things.

Welcome and Congrats! You've come to the right place to help narrow it down! Good Luck!
