Ok, so I am halfway thru #4. I read the first 3 in 3 days, but had to wait my "turn" for #4. I am not "in love" with Edward like I was in the beginning, but I still love him. I don't really have much complaints at all about the books! I find that the beginning of each one was annoying b/c the first bit was a recap of the previous books and I found that annoying. I see the point, cuz not everyone reads them back-to-back-to-back, but still annoying. I want to see the movie, but I am so scared that it will ruin everything for me. I almost wish I could go back to the frist book and get totally sucked in again! Sidenote: I read ALOT, like anything I can get my hands on. I am usually anti-fantasy, like I couldn't read Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, but for some reason vampires are ok? Don't ask me. I think it's all due to Ann Rice, I loved her stories for years. Anyway, back to my point of me reading alot. I am not a good judge of a book, even though I read alot, cuz I get sucked into EVERY book I read. I cry reading magazine articles or watching commercials. It's kinda pathetic, cuz I can't really tell an OK book from a FANTASTIC book, cuz I get equally involved in all characters lives. I get totally submersed!

So late to this, but you know I love it!!!

I liked them in order of 36, 50, 51. But 36 was way in the lead for me!

Sounds like an overreaction to me. However, weddings aren't just stressful for us, as brides. The Mothers of the bride and groom sometimes also get really stressed out. So even if she is over-reacting, it would be nice if you could smooth it over. But I wouldn't put it in the card. I like Amanda's idea of giving her a quick call and explaining the situation.

I don't have much advice for you, seems like the girls all covered it! But I wanted to say that I am so sorry for the loss of your pet, it's just as hard losing a person (for me anyway!), so I feel your pain. Take a few days and let your mind sort out what you want. But remember, EVERYONE fights, it's how they make-up that matters.

That's great, congrats! And it sounds like you are doing it the healthy way, so that's always a plus since it tends to be more permanent. But I was also wondering about the oatmeal. I feel like I ate nothing at all when I eat oatmeal, so do you do something special to it, or is it a special kind?

I think $1k is pushing it, but if you can swing it, more power to you! We spent over $20k, probably closer to $25k-$27k, but I am not really sure. We had just over 300 people though (super large families) and we had it kinda formal like a regular weddign reception. We actually spent not alot of money considering the amount of people that we had!

Ohhhhh, I want to read this thread SOOOOOO bad! I just started the first Twilight book yesterday and am already on page 360, I can't remember the exact page number, but that's about right! I tried to stay away from it, cuz I hate when people get all hype about something, I stay away from it just because. But I am in LOVE with Edward!!!! I hope it continues to be as good as it is so far and I can't wait to come back to this thread after I read them all. Next week, probably! And since I am in love and all, I am kinda disappointed Robert Pattison to play Edward in the movie. He is attractive and all, but no where near as attractive as I make Edward in my head. The books are always better anyway.

I got married 10 months ago and am still working on my thank you's. I think it's a waste of time, but etiquette says I have to do it. I had over 300 people at my AHR wedding reception, so it's a hell of alot to write and you lose originallity. I always open thank you's over the trash, read it and throw it right away. So I hope that this is a formality that evolves away. On the other hand, when it is something personal, I love thank you's! I even make my own cards when someone gives me a special gift. So it isn't thank you cards, I am against. But wedding thank you cards. Can't it just be expected that the bride and groom are thankful, cuz, duh, we are! I know that most people don't agree with me, but that's what opinions are for. Oh, and I WILL have mine out before the 1 year mark, but barely. But for my shower gifts, which were more personal. I wrote a personal note to every person within about 2 weeks and they were mailed before we left for Jamaica. But thank you's for cash gifts (which is like 95% of my wedding gifts) are so boring to write and impersonal.
