  1. Deltachic - please feel free to search the forum for any peacock related threads. I know that we have at least one bride getting married in May that used peacock feathers as her inspiration. The search function can be found in the upper right of the screen and it really comes in handy. Welcome to the forum!!
  2. Looks so fun! What are sugared grapes? I want some! I also loved your dress, it was so cute! On a sidenote - can you resize the pics? Some of them are HUGE and stretch the screen really wide. (the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th)
  3. Ana, congrats! You looked beautiful!! Great pics, and I especially love the one with the socks.
  4. Blahahaahaa, Jac. I just cracked up. All serious until, can I get a amen. hahahaaaaa
  5. YES! It's way more expensive. And then, even more expensive, is the private catholic schools! My children will be going to suburbs public schools (hopefully!)
  6. Yeah, OR just don't have any work people on your friend list! That's what I did. I heard about too many people getting fired for that.
  7. Hmmmm, that's a toughie. I think white is fine anytime of the year now too, but not sure about for a wedding. You don't want to be the one people are whispering about. If it's a black tie event, I would say the only way you could get away with a pants suit, was if it's super dressy. Black tie = evening wear. But it also depends on how comfortable you will be if you stick out. I married into a big Italian family who tends to go all out (like some of their baptism parties cost more then my wedding!), so I always try to dress to fit in. But I am a dressy type of girl, so that's easy for me. I guess I wasn't much help, was I?
  8. Hi Crystal, Have you tried searching thru the Punta Cana threads? I see that this is only your second posting, so you are new to the forum. Welcome, you will find so much great information here! But the reason I ask you to search the forum first is that we have SO many members here and so much information that is already posted, sometimes it isn't necessary to start a new thread. Having information spread out in so many different threads makes it so much harder for noobies to find useful information. Also, have you done any research on particular resorts? Some of their policys change, so to get up to date information, I would narrow down your search and being contacting resorts or going to websites. Good luck with your planning!
  9. April - go into vbplaza menu --> vbplaza main --> user title options --> change user title
  10. YAY!!!! It worked thank you SO much!!! Also thanks to everyone else that tried to help me! I have no clue how I changed that setting, but my desktop is much prettier now. If not, then I'll ask my prof, he'll know
  11. Danyelle - have you searched thru all the Riu Ocho Rios threads in the JA section? There have been so many ROR brides that I am pretty sure you can find the information that you need in some existing threads. Not sure about RMB, but I would guess their policys are the same.
  12. Calia, you can only edit a post for about an hour after posting it. After that, only the mods can do it.
  13. Holy shilz. What a bad start to the day. But I am SO glad they were able to locate the bike, mostly in good shape. And booo to his bad friend! I hope they can figure out if it really was him, so you guys can stop having him in our life!
  14. Oh, I forgot about that stuff!! I use that in the summer under dresses, but I don't think I knew about it at my wedding... It's a great thing to have, but if I remember right, it doesn't last all day, so if you buy it for your wedding, make sure you can reapply.
  15. I was a sweaty beast since it was like 90 degrees and had some leg sweat, but no chafing. I just wore my regular underwear underneath as well.
  16. Hmmmm. I wouldn't be interested in the trip and would probably just ignore it. But would I be offended? I don't think so. It depends on how the letter was written and presented....
  17. Thanks, Joanne, I tried that one as well, but I don't see the option for "enable web content on desktop". I will wait to see if you can figure it out at home before asking my IT. They aren't very quick getting back to us anyway... Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!!
  18. Not cool at all. Thanks Rebecca, but that didn't work either! All that did was change the color block behind the text to something else. I am emailing my IT department. It might be silly, but whatever, i am on this computer more then I am doig anything else in this world, so it shouldn't be so annoying!
  19. NO! Darnit. I restarted and everything. It's so ugly.
  20. Typical schmipical. Do what you want! I wore BRIGHT orange for my wedding day.
  21. Yeah, I go to church with Matt's family occasionally, but I don't enjoy it. I also feel like a fraud! I never thought of it like that, but that's a great way to put it. And I don't go to communion. For some reason, that would make me feel like a sinner. I guess some part of it can't be worn off! I remember in grade school, we had to go to confession before we were allowed to go to communion, so I just would never go to communion these days.
  22. I chose "more spiritual then religious". I was raised catholic (12 years of catholic school, then also a catholic college for 2 years), and I really do believe in most of it. I have a problem with the rules of the church though. I don't believe in judging people for their sexual orientation, religious choices, etc. I also don't believe that I have to go to "church" to feel at peace, or confessiong me sins to a priest. I think you can interact with your God (whichever religion you are) in however you see fit, as long as you life your life the right way. Basically, as long as you are a good person. I believe more in the ideas behind the religion, and I don't take anything literally. Most of the stories are told to make a point, and the point is the lesson, not necessarily the story. At least that's what I believe. However, I have some friends that are very gung-ho with their religions and take each story as a literal historical fact and I completely respect that. NOTE: As Alyssa said, this topic can be touchy, so please play nice.
