Oh how did I forget that I love Kent too! I guess I'd be happy if Kent, Robert or Lauren won. And really since you mentioned Kent, I'd rather him win over Robert. Next week should be Jose and Billy to go home. Even though I love Jose. Quote: Originally Posted by *Rachel* I have to admit I really like Kent too. But I want Lauren to win!

Right! I had to pause it and yell at my husband when they were telling Robert that he hasn't been growing, b/c that is NOT what they said the night before! And it's just not true. I think they were just justifying not cutting Billy Bell. I hope America doesnt' vote for him next week b/c he needs to go.
-
Yeah, I'm annoyed. I think it's b/c they knew they should've cut Billy Bell since he didn't dance and they didn't want to and that pisses me off even more b/c I feel that they already made an exception for him from the beginning. And plus I really can't stand him. Not one thing about him. But Lauren is AMAZING! I've liked her since the beginning, then she kinda faded a little bit, but the past few weeks, she can't do any wrong! I hope she wins it for the girls! And while I love Jose and would love to continue watching him grow, I just think he's over his head at this point. I hope that either Lauren or Robert wins it.

If you read the post that I quoted in my reply above, you would see that is exactly what she said... Eta: here is the quote that I was replying to... Quote: It's your wedding, the entire week should be about YOU. What are your Wedding Colors???

Have you tried searching the forum? This topic has been discussed at lenght. In fact I saw that someone else created the very same thread this morning! It's always best to search and "bump" an older thread that start one on a topic that is sure to have been discussed before... -
To Facebook or not to Facebook...
boscobel replied to fallfromgrace's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I wasn't on facebook until after my wedding, but I would've waited until the important people knew. However, the important people would be our parents, siblings and best freiends. I wouldn't have called extended family like aunts and uncles. If I had a living grandparent I probably would've told them, but not really sure. -

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about it being tacky to get engaged AT someones wedding, but I don't see the problem with it before or after. And I'm kinda shocked at how many people really think that everyones entire vacation should revolve for the entire time around the wedding. You really think the entire week is about you (bride & groom)? Do you dedicate an entire week to every wedding that you go to? Then I don't really think it's fair to expect others to do the same. I just think it's common courtesy. -
Yeah, that really sucks! Burned vajayjay is not fun. Did you call her a few adys later to let her know how it was affecting you? If you haven't, I would call to talk to her before you return so she can be prepared.

Ok, good to know that they weren't stupid when filming the series cuz I swore they said Vietnam, but I know that doesn't make sense. So it must've been me just confusing them again. I think last nights episode was the best of the season so far. And Alcide did seem to settle into the role a little bit more, not that it matters when he takes his shirt off. Oh and now that I see Crystal I remember that she seems diff from the books as well. I thought she was little and dark, like Christina Ricci. But this girl looks like she belongs on a farm somewhere, all innocent and not evil looking at all. I'm interested to watch that storyline play out.
-
DITTO! I'm watching it now and I was just coming here to post about her. She was one of my faves before even though she was totally different then the book. But now she just gets on my nerves, she overacts everything. And I jsut saw the texting mother fucker scene and cracked up. And then he made her watch while he did it again. he is pretty funny. Ditto! Quote: Originally Posted by *Rachel* I think it's cause they had her go from tough girl Tara to crying over Eggs and suicidal Tara. I didn't like that switch and I liked it much better when she told everyone to go fuck themselves all the time. Another thing that gets on my nerves is that Terry Bellefluer is supposed to be a vet from Vietnam, but he's only like 30 years old! I just googled and he was born in 1977. But I know in the books, it was Vietnam, and I swore that's what they said in the show too, but that's impossible. Sometimes I wish I could stop comparing the two b/c I love them both but find it hard when there are major differences!
-
I completely forgot about the power as well. And I'm having trouble telling the difference between teh books. Why did they rename the Maenad to be "Maryann" in the show when her name was something like "callisto" in the book? Cuz I read Cougs responses and was like who the eff is Maryann? Hahahhaa, it took me a minute to remember.
-
I would call them and ask what options there are. They might refund you, or fix them for free. Either way, they should know that she didn't give full attention and left a customer unsatisfied. It's so hard to mix friend/family and business!

I remembered! And it wasn't even an S name.... Alexei Romanov! Quote: Originally Posted by carly And I'm totally blanking the Alexei's name, but he was the famous prince that's family was slaughtered? I think it began with an S, but I'm blanking! Grrrr.

Yeah, sadly another girl bit the dust! It's sad to see the girls get lost week after week!
-
Oh Rach, don't feel bad! I can't keep the book/show separate! I keep thinking that I SAW something happen, but really, I read it. It's weird too, b/c now that I'm all caught up on the show (except last night) when I re-read the books, I hear the tv characters and I see them in my head. So I get all kindsa confused on what happened where. And I'm totally blanking the Alexei's name, but he was the famous prince that's family was slaughtered? I think it began with an S, but I'm blanking! Grrrr.

Well this is were the books and the show differ. Godrig was Eric's maker in the tv series, but not in the books. In fact, I just finished rereading book 2 and Eric and Godrig/Godfrey (that's the name he uses in the book) never even meet or interact. And for anyone that read the whole series, Eric's maker shows up in a later book with Alexei. I can't remember his name (E's maker), but I know that's one spot were the book and the show go down different paths... I haven't watched last nights ep last night, but I'm so looking forward to it tonight!!

Well over 2 years later, it's sitting in my closet crumpled up ina ball still un-drycleaned. I never intended to sell it, even though that's how I justified spending so much money on it originally. I always wanted to keep it for something, but once the wedding was over, I was so fed up with all wedding things that I shoved it in a closet and haven't looked at it since! Perhaps it's time to have a wedding dress party with my friends....

I agree 100% with Andi. I was going to comment myself, but she pretty much said exactly what I wanted. I see your point, but I don't really see it taking away from your day. Good luck with whatever happens! Quote: Originally Posted by Andi hmmm, while I totally understand where you are coming from, you have to remember that this will be their vacation too. If they both are just friends of yours then I am assuming that they won't. that being said, I am sure people will congratulate them and such, as they should, but I don't see it taking away from your big day. Also as long as he doesn't doing ON your big day...it would be bad I think if for example he did it in the middle of the reception or something. As long though as he does it on a different day, I think it will be fine. Like I said, this is their vacation too and you do have to remember that as well. Trust me, I totally get where you are coming from but I don't see it taking anything away from your wedding. I think this same thing happened to another bride, tvt (tara). there might even be a thread on it, let me see if i can find it. same situation and in the end it was totally fine. -
Laser Eye Surgery - anyone's experiences?
boscobel replied to Alyssa's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Not at all, Jess. They do the numbing drops in your eyes, which I had trouble keeping my eyes open for that too. I'm ok with contacts, but drops are really hard for me. Anyway, I would say that you won't have a problem b/c since you can't "feel" any of it, it's not that hard. It almost feels like your watching this stuff happen right in front of your eye, not TO your eye. Also, there's no way you can close your eye during the procedure, they have this contraption that they put inside your eye in the top and bottom (after they tape your lashes up and down) and that holds your eye open. There were times were I really wanted to close my eyes, but you just can't. Don't get me wrong, the sensation is insane and freaky, but 3 days later, I am really loving it. My eyes are just about healed in the scratchiness and I can see perfectly. -
Yeah, I realized that later, but I agree, def think he'd make a better Franklin. And Debbie Pelt isn't at all how I pictured her either. No offense to the person who works with her aunt, I pictured her hot and sexy. Not that she's bad looking, but they styled her in a Debbie Gibson 80's style which just doesn't fit with my image of her. I think Alcide is HOT, but I'm not feeling the chemistry either. He doesn't seem like a very good actor, or something. Maybe he'll settle into the role. I know I read something that said him and Sookie have incredible chemistry and I watched a short clip were they were doing an interview and they were really cute together, but it doesn't translate to the show just yet.

Thanks, Mo! And thanks for the tip about gel eyedrops. I heard that before, but completely forgot, so once I'm all healed up, I'll be purchasing some of those bad boys. -
I had the HSG (hysterosalpinogram, is the full word, I think) test done since I had an ectopic pregnancy last year and lost a tube, they wanted to confirm that my other tube was ok. It was a quick procedure performed at the hospital. Only slightly more invasive then the internal u/s b/c they insert a catheter and inject dye. But it was super quick and for my problems, I'm glad that we did it.

Thanks, Erika! I'm super excited about it and only know one person that isn't 100% happy, but she's like 55 and is upset she needs reading glasses when that's part of the deal. And really, I don't mind that I'll need reading glasses in the future b/c the point is that I don't need contacts/glasses daily now! ETA: Hahahaa, D, I hear that! Luckily I'm doing it thru my pre-tax expense account, so it's coming right out of my paycheck each month and (hopefully) I'll barely miss the money!
