In-ter-esting. I guess I will get started online to alleviate face-time with the sales people. I hate shopping, so probably most of my stuff will be done online! Thanks for all the input and now I will be off to lunch (meaning cruising the internet to start this!).

I did a search to see if I found anything like this, but I didn't see it. Granted, it was a QUICK search! How soon is too soon to register? I am not getting married for 10 more months, but we sent the STD's out a few weeks ago and my mom said that she has already gotten phone calls about where we were registered. I assumed I had PLENTY of time before we needed to do that...

Go to Wedding Invitations, Bridal Shower Invitations & Save The Dates — eInvite there are a few on there that I liked when I was looking. (I went with the one titled hibiscus from this company). I actually ordered a sample of the one named "bamboo" and I really liked it... I just saw the one titled "tropic" and that is really pretty as well... Good luck! CORRECTION: I didn't order from this comany, but I ordered a sample of the bamboo and hibiscus and they were really nice. Then I found a local compnay that was offering 10%, so I got hibiscus from them, not einvite...

I think it is beautiful and isn't too dressy at all. Unless your gown is super casual. I don't think the bridesmaid should be dressier then the bride...

How is she just realizing NOW that she can't afford it? I mean the wedding is seven months away and she booked it 2 months ago. So that is a total of 9 frigging months to get the money together! I am sorry you are going thru that, but I am having trouble understanding how she can even justify that. Unless she truly has a good reason (one of my bridesmaids backed out of the destination part b/c her husband got recalled to the army and they have a 1.5 year old son. And I beleive that is valid reason.)

That was my 1st choice for our destination wedding - my fiance's dad is from there and there is still alot of family over there. But he didn't want to do that since a cousin did that about 5 years ago. Not that I am complaining about Jamaica though, cuz I can't wait!!!! I have no suggestions for you, but i am sure someone on here will and I just think that is a great idea for your parents! So romantic....

Wow, I am sorry you are experiencing such drama from the people that you thought were you best friends. But I do beleive that people think its a competition and they want you to realize how much luckier they are then you. The weird thing is, it goes both ways. People want to top you on how much trouble you are having and how awesome your life is. I hope it all works itself out in the next month - or that you find the extreme amount of patience/tolerance that it appears that you will need. Good luck!!

If I thought my dog could handle it I would totally have her in my wedding. She is an english bulldog (like that cute lil pic up there) only she is brindle and she LOVES to dress up! It is hysterical. I don't really have clothes for her, but when we find ones that fit, she absolutely loves to wear them.

Jamy - I don't think those tips are outdatd at all, I think they seem almost obvious, but sometimes the obvious is overlooked. I am still trying to find a counselor in our area and I plan on making an appt soon. Thank you all! I do feel much better about us today, so perhaps I was just having an offday yesterday. Back to work...

I love that idea as well - both the shell and the buckets. My neice is insistant that she is a "princess girl" NOT a flower girl, so we'll see how that goes next year. Where did you find such beautiful shells? Are they real?

Wow, I love that dress! I am such a fan of that style skirt. It doesn't work for me, cuz I am like 5 foot tall, but it is so dramatic!

Yeah, I am looking up places to go to counseling now. That is so not my thing, makes me nervous just thinking about it! He is a hair-dresser AND italian, so he talks all day and night non-stop. Yeah, that is what I am hoping, but it seems that stupidest things are pissing us both off. I was even thinking of telling him that I wanted to go to counseling, b/c perhaps we jsut need to learn how to say something in a way that makes sense to the other. Then I worry of that is inviting trouble. It doesn't make it any easier that I work in a financial world and the end/beginning of the fiscal year is my busiest time. Thanks for listening!

Has anyone else noticed that once you got engaged, you fight more? I moved in with my fiance in December (coincidentally only a week before we got engaged). And it seems that we fight now more then ever. I know that people say that is normal, if you can make it thru the wedding - that is the hardest part. But dayum! Life changing situations are hard.

Hey, I am not a Riu bride, but I am getting married in Jamaica the day after you! At Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios. I hear alot of great things about the Riu, so I am sure it will be awesome. Congrats!
