  1. Ya know, I booked my wedding shortly after becoming a member here, but now that I have been on a few months and been reading alot of what everyone does, it looks like everyone upgrades from the package at the resort. Is/has anyone just stuck to what was uncluded? That is what we were planning on, but now I am second-guessing myself (AGAIN!) and thinking that perhaps we do need to do some upgrades...
  2. Matt and I have been together for 1 year and 7 months. We got engaged 3 days after our one year anniversary, but that is cuz the ring was late! The ring was in the works since like September, but we had a bad jeweler. It seems quick when I right the timelines, but it feels anything BUT quick. We met on a blind date and just never really separated after that.
  3. Damn, I love that Mayan Palace! That place is incredible! I love the open-air spaces...
  4. Heidi, love the new sig pic. How did everyone do those collages
  5. Hey girls, I am sorry that you are having pricing issues. But I must say that I am glad you guys are having the same issues as me. I have been doubting my decision to go with Beaches since I booked, and wishing I had choosen the Riu. I still wish I had done that, but at least I can see that I am not the only one that is getting surprised by hidden fees! I had to pay an extra $1,500 to be able to get married at sunset! The only choices I had were like 11-4. I always wanted to do it at sunset and that package included some upgrades, so I figured why not. But it doesn't include ALL the upgrades I wanted. I think the DW is way more expensive then I originally thought...
  6. I vote for blue, cuz I always like to be different. I don't know yet what I will wear, but I love what my sister was going to do. (Not sure if she actually did, I can't remember now...) She bought these sexy spike heeled shoes with just the strap acorss the front that was leopard print and there were rhinestones inset around the edge of the shoe all the way around. Not big ones, just tiny little ones to add some flash. Love that idea. So I say be daring!

  8. Love the photos! I especially love the few of you and the girls in front of the ocean with the parasols. The BM dresses match exactly to the ocean! I have been trying to pick colors that will stand out against it, but your pics are making me second guess myself! Congratualtions and who was your photographer? They did an excellent job. Ok, so I just finished the pics and I want that to be my wedding! You looked gorgeous and everything else looks wonderful! I really hope that my comes out half as good as yours looks!
  9. Welcome, Dayna. You will quickly find that you cannot live without this forum. At least that is what all us addicts say. Hey, my ticker is different!
  10. Great pics, great dress! Everything looks wonderful. I really, really, really love the dress! Congratulations.

  12. Hmm, I can't see it. The dreaded red x, and when i went to properties and copied the URL, the website was not found...
  13. Awww, that brought tears to my eyes. I am sorry that you are having a rough day, Kelly. It is def hard when major things happen in our life after someone important has passed away. A very close friend passed away in high school and I still think, "I wonder what Chuck would think of this?" So I totally understand and I know there is nothing to be said to change it, so jsut stay strong. Good luck to you, Everton and your family!
  14. So that really was the dress you were meant to have and you were smiled the wedding gods smiled upon you and gave you a discount. Awesome!
  15. thanks, bookmarked that site to check out later. I been so bad with this forum and registering while at work and whatnot that I can't look at it now, but I def will later! The peppermint thing sounds really cute to do if I can get it together by Christmas.
  16. Can I just say that reading your NJ attitude, I was cracking up. I am from Philly, so it read exactly as it would have been said telling the story. Too funny. Congrats on bargaining and winning!
  17. My sis is actually putting together a website so we can sell this stuff, cuz she makes little leg warmers for kids to, to wear under their pants. So cute when they have little stripes sticking out. My nephew, Liam is 15 months old and she made him a pair that were black with flames, hysterical.
  18. Lauren - Hmmm, I will have to check, but I thought my sis said that the ingredients for the lip balms/soaps we would need to get at a whole food store or something. I will do a drive-by after work today or tom. Cuz we want to make them from scratch. But I would love to hear any ideas you have, you can send me email at [email protected]. Thanks! Kelly - I think it would be awesome so I am hoping we can get it together. My sister makes slings (to carry babies) and I make little memory boxes for people when they are pregnant and they are ALWAYS the most talked about thing at a shower. I usually make the memory box and put the sling inside, so it's pretty cool. And it feels really good to give someone something that you made and they think it's special too! Everyone wins:-)
  19. Hello, So me and my sister have done a few crafty things, but now we think we can do anything and are looking into making soaps and lip balms. We want to start now, to get a few practice cycles out and then I want that to be part of the gift bags for my guests next year. We found a few recipes online that we are going to test out, but I am having trouble locating a good place to purchase them from. Has anyone on here ever done this? Most of the sites I found online, the quantities are huge! Any suggestions?
  20. Kelly - Liam (which, by the way is my nephew's name as well!) must be one of the cutest little boys ever. So photogenic. Also, I just love looking at all these animals. I can't wait until we have a bigger house, cuz I want a housefull of dogs! (Ok, maybe just 2 or 3, but still.)
  21. Yeah, they kill you when you book ahead. I am actually staying at Beaches, but I tol my guests to not book yet. To wait until it gets closer to the date, b/c the hotels want their rooms filled and will lower the prices phenominally. But that bugs me, cuz we are planning a wedding and they screw us on the prices b/c we have to do it so far in advance. That's life, I guess.
  22. I like them in the order that they are pictured. # 1 and #2 I would totally buy. #3 I like as well, but I think it's a little casual for wedding shoes. I like to wear the unexpected, which is kinda why I like the darker pair best. I talked my sis into buying leopard print spike heeled shoes to wear under her dress. I have since confiscated those shoes:-)
  23. Awesome, Laura, congratulations! Your non-pro pics turned out pretty darn good, so I am sure you (and we!) can't wait to see them as well!
