Also, we requested a non-denominational ceremony, and he did a LOT of LONG praying, in which you can see Michael and I getting antsy and giving each other glances. Then I got the giggles because when it was the "repeat after me" part, neither one of us monkeys could resist saying our vows in heavily accented English. I mean, a little bit of them. I'm sure someone has some great pictures of my new brother-in-law who decided to fall off the wagon after 12 years of sobriety the day before our wedding, proceeded to be wasted the entire day, broke two chairs at the welcome dinner, stuck his head in my boobs when he was hugging me goodbye, and took off his clothes at the outside bar while laying across some tables. He was escorted out by hotel security and THEN was MIA for the 10:00 ceremony the next day...good thing he wasn't the best man or anything. Also, my cousin was so wasted the entire time, that he came in to my welcome dinner, backed up to me doing a booty dance, and sang at the top of his lungs "Oh yeah! Big booty hos!" Good times, my wedding. Good times. Omg, I literally have tears in my eyes. Hhahahaaa, that is great. I am glad you see the humor in it, cuz it is funny as hell.

I attempted to use destinationweddings.com also and i FINALLY received my refund check the day before yesterday. They gave me a hard time about sending it back to me, cuz I didn't want to be mean when I canceled so I told the woman that we weren't doing a DW anymore. Then she wrote me back that they did some research and found me talking about my DW on a forum (THIS FORUM!) and why was i asking for my money back if I was going forward with the DW. So then I decided to be straight and said I wasn't happy with the help and wanted my money back and emailed and emailed and emailed until I finally got it, like 6 months after I joined. I forget when I began the request to get it back. My problem with dw.com was I didn't know where I wanted to go, we knew we wanted a beach, child-friendly, all-inclusive and within a certain price range. So I thought she should be able to help me find which locations fit into my criteria. The lady basically told me to do my own research and let her know what I found and then she could follow up with prices. I was like WTF Whatever. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but I would suggest using a TA to help you coordinate it, even if it is not a large group. Sorry for such a long one, think that is my longest post yet! Oh, re: websites, I used a free one - Online Wedding Planning Tools and Websites: OurWeddingDay.com. I think it is pretty good, have some problems with address upload, but I had 267 people, so I am sure with 10, you will be fine. You can check mine out if you want to view a sample. OurWeddingDay.Com

Matt is a hairdresser, so unlike me, he doesn't get 2 free vacation days/month to use, so everyday he is out of work it is money out of our pocket. Heidi - you mean, get married again? Or are you changing from the Riu?? I am confused... Btw - I saw on another thread, you have a stalker??

Place Cards - IDEAS NEEDED! Please!
boscobel replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I know, I am tempted to just order them so I can quit thinking about it, but I say that about 5 times a day with all the great ideas I see on here! Most days I am so thankful that I found this forum, then there are others when I wish I didn't, cuz there are too many things on here that I learn about and then want to do. -

I haven't completely decided yet, but I think I might use these, cuz they match my std's. I figured I'd post it since so many people seem to be using the same colors (I am using orange, fushcia and blue). Hibiscus  eInvite -
Is anyone NOT upgrading at the resort?

I could have been more hands on but I was more excited to be marrying Will than to care what color the tableclothes were. I basically told the WC I wanted lots of candles and petals and I wanted our ceremony to face the ocean, and I was thrilled with what I got. We even went for a site inspection which my WC loved because she said I was so laid back it made her job fun, lol. Some people have known how they want things to look since before they were engaged, some get inspired by magazines, in our case we knew the location was the decoration and anything extra was a bonus so we didn't stress over it. There is no right or wrong way to do it, so make it your own and do what you feel. You are so laid back, it's great. I take that approach on most days regarding the wedding, then other days I am driving myself crazy! 9 more months of this too! AHHHHHH -

Need Names for our Signature Drinks!
boscobel replied to PVBride's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hmm, Playarita, Fiestarita, Jacarita. Yeah, I suck at this. Perhaps something will pop up later. I'll keep it in mind. Be sure to post whatever you choose though! I think we are going to have chocolate martinis (MY FAVE) as our sig drink IF we do that, so i'll need a name then. -
I don't think it is weird at all. They don't have to be matchy-matchy to each other as long as you both are happy with it. I like the idea of mixing the metals though, like Kelly suggested. Although, my e-ring is both, so I guess I am partial to that already! My fiance's great-uncle is making us rings out of old quarters (or is it nickels? whatever used to be silver). He uses a spoon and it takes him a few months, so we called him like as soon as we got engaged. I am really excited for that ring. Didn't mean to steal your thread!

What color/flavor are the drinks? I am not very good at this stuff either, but sometimes I get lucky and something cool pops up. -
Hmmm, I wonder what Beaches feeling is on this. I thought that all the resorts had something against that. Matt and I talked about it over the weekend and we both agreed it would be important to us to have good pics, since I HATE having my pic taken. I need someone who is good at the photo-journalistic approach. I tthink that is what it is called, anyway... I also have no clue what is the starting price to have someone come to the DW, cuz I saw something in another thread that (ank, i think) she thinks it starts at like $4,000. Which might be affordable for some, but that would BLOW my budget!

Heidi, Reggie isn't a vegetarian also? That must be hard then, making food for both of you! I can cook, but not very good. I need instructions and I usually follow them to a T. Except, I like things extra tasty (read spicy, but not spicy hot, spicy flavorful), so I might add more of that stuff. But Matt can just take stuff outta the fridge and whip it together like nothing. It takes me forever to even make one of those Oven bakes were you jsut add chicken, cuz I measure everything out and then doubt myself and think it was wrong and double-check it a few times. Hahahaaa, so it's easier for us both for him to cook and me to clean. But I would love to take a few cooking classes to have more capabilities.

Are any of you hiring a photographer to pretend to be part of the family or jsut sticking with the resort one? I think the pictures are the most important part for me, so ti might be where I want to splurge, but not sure if I should...

It is a problem that I have always had and have been thinking about seeing a doctor about, cuz it affects everything, especially the sex life. Poor Matt when I am feeling fat! Although I am sure that no matter what you look like, your man is going to be so excited to see you!

Is anyone NOT upgrading at the resort?
boscobel replied to boscobel's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I didn't really mean the rooms, although we upgraded to one with a view, but the things associated with the wedding/ceremony/reception. I booked a month or so ago and they said something about meeting with them when we get there to finalize the plans and that sounded great to me! I am supposed to email closer to the date with colors and stuff, but it seemed that the majority of it would be decided when I got there. But it seems that everyone is looking for outside of the resorts and upgrades and whatnot. I didn't want to just let it go and then go crazy in 7 months when there is barely time ti fix it. Oh decisions, decisions. -
Oh well thanks, Tami! But I do need to lose a few (hopefully @15ish). I have put on weight since getting engaged and planning a wedding! Isn't it supposed to go the other damn way!! Ugh. Then again, it's so hard to put a number on it, I don't know what I weigh, I jsut know that my clothes are tighter and I am uncomfortable in a bikini, so I jsut want to lose enough that I feel ok again.

All this work I did and then fell off the wagon. Tom gets back from Iraq next month and I want to still have the weight GONE. Plus, I've gotta keep it off 'til the April wedding. arrgghh!! I am going to be out of town most of this week -- and am focused on getting back on track ... so regular gym workouts begin next Monday -- along with a personal trainer. Tami - what pill was it called? I have tried numerous weight loss pills, but they make me crazy, like I am on realy drugs. I grind my teeth, my skin turns all white and my fingers are freezing. I feel like a crack-head. I would love to fine one that didn't make me feel that way.
